Used to have a lot of sauce and was delicious. Not anymore

Not sure what they did to the paneer kadai but please change it back! Used to order the same dish for 5 years almost weekly. I'll keep checking back after a month or so to test. The recipe and the portions have gotten worse and I probably will not order again.

Paneer tikka masala, Plain Samosa and Mango Lassi

Came here for dinner after getting ash last Wednesday and found so many great vegetarian options. We ordered way too much - paneer pizza, samosas, tikka masala rice bowl, gulab jamun and a mango lassi. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and the cute little spot has indoor and outdoor seating for you to enjoy your meal there.

Nice quick quality meal. BEWARE if you are allergic to nuts. Some of the sauces are made with nuts. The butter chicken was almost $19 and came with a side of rice and naan. If you wanted garlic naan it is an additional $1 up charge. The butter chicken was so flavorful. Very tasty. The build your own veggie bowl was about $14. Lots of flavor as well. It was tasty as well. Over all we will be back

The food was decent. Biryani isn't authentic biryani but pulav with corns, beans, onions served with raita. Raita is reallly tasty. Good option if you are craving for Indian food. Vada pav was also not just a bun with potato tikki in between. It was okay. Pavs were not soft. It was hard to chew.

    Kabob bowl w/paneer

Came here for the first time for dinner on a weeknight with a friend. I ordered the kabob bowl with paneer and veggies as sides, which also came with half a piece of naan bread. Total came out to approximately $15. What's hot - Menu. Pretty simple and straightforward. It's not an extensive menu, but there appears to be something for everyone- meats vegetarian, and I think vegan. As I explain below, their menu is more westernized, but it's not a bad thing. This may not be as ethnic as real Indian food, but they don't hide the fact that they're westernized. - Quality. Pretty delish. Again, it's not the most ethnic Indian food, but it's pretty good. My paneer was pan fried and somewhat seasoned, so it was pretty tasty. My friend really likes their naan pizza and it looked pretty tasty, too. - Price. Not bad. It's less than $20 for one person, which isn't bad. However, if you're hungry and/or with a group of people, be prepared to pay more to share. - Portions. Pretty decent size portions for one. - Health and safety. All the staff I saw wore face masks. During this time of the pandemic, when things are still uncertain, it's reassuring seeing businesses, that interact with the people, take precautions. What's not - Portions. Surprisingly, I wasn't full after finishing my food. My point is to be prepared that these aren't generous portions, which is important to be aware of when you're hungry, especially if you're in a group and/or sharing food. - Quality. It's not true ethnic Indian food. After all, there's naan pizza, which appears to be popular and looks delicious. To be fair, it's not bad, but if you're looking for really good ethnic Indian food, this place isn't for you. For example, my food didn't taste well-seasoned and flavorful as ethnic Indian food should be. - Price. For almost $16, it's not the greatest exchange for value. Final answer Willing to come back. It's not my first choice for ethnic Indian food, but it's good Indian food with an American twist and is dependable.

Yum. This food looks and tastes amazing. Easy to order and food comes out quick. I recommend this to anyone in the College Park/Hyattsville area.

I don't know what to have expected because I'm gonna be honest I haven't had Indian food ever in the 30 years of living. But with that being said the way Indian food is always described, it seems that it should have a certain essence of spice and flavor which I felt was lacking both. I feel that the dish was a good portion size and that everything was just OK. The garlic naan lacked the flavor of garlic except for the few rubs on the bread unevenly. It was chewy and warm upon arrival but just wasn't what I expected. I'm not an Indian food connoisseur but I feel that this place is only as good as chipotle being good to the Hispanic cultures. When I try dishes from other countries I wanna taste the essence of just that as if I'm there. But not to be dramatic it's a chain Indian restaurant and would I eat here again, yea sure but gonna try to find an authentic Indian spot first

Food was really good we had a small issue with the payment they where only able to take 100$ payment through online there was some issue with their Wi-Fi and we ordered a lot of food the service was amazing because the food was a lot it was coming one after other as they make they served on the table and the ambiance was pretty good and we liked the chai at the end which we had

Chipotle for Indian food. Rice bowl done better. Choice of the PG hospital residents! Went regular spicy and it was spicy! Also ordered for 5 and couldn't figure out who got what since everything looked similar. The tofu was a little tough, the chickpeas terrific. Menu forced you to get two of these and two of those. Couldn't deviate from the app. Uber eats worked well. Good experience.

We were headed to Amber Spice for a late lunch, and fortunately, we made it in before the 2:45pm cutoff (I called ahead to check). Since it was almost lunch closing, they did request that we place our orders soon after being seated. We already knew what we wanted to order, so we didn't feel rushed otherwise. We started with the veggie samosas ($6, two pieces), which were served with the traditional tamarind sauce and spicy cilantro chutney. The samosas were packed with the potato and pea filling and had a lightly crisp exterior. They were as good as any. For my entree, I ordered the butter chicken ($20), which is served with a side of basmati rice. When ordering, the waiter didn't ask about spice level. I did find their butter chicken to have some heat to it, but it wasn't anything crazy - I'd say a 3/10 for spiciness - I felt the warmth. The chicken was super tender and moist. I would be happy getting this again. I also ordered the garlic naan ($5), because you have to have something to sop up the curry goodness. The naan was hot and fresh; you could also taste the garlic. One basket came with four pieces (one whole naan), which is perfect for sharing. I finished the meal with the gulab jamun ($6) for dessert which came with three pieces of the fried dough balls served in a sweet syrup. My friend ordered the mango kulfi and loved it! She described it as a mango lassi, but frozen, which made it that much more light and refreshing. Amber Spice is a casual dining spot and it has the service to match. We were brought a carafe of water for the table to start, so it was self-serve the rest of the way. Food was brought out quickly and plates were cleared at the end, but we weren't checked on during the meal. Perhaps since we arrived near lunch closing, service was winding down, but we got what we needed. I enjoyed the food here and would come again. Everything that we had was not only super tasty, but also reasonably priced. There's also plenty of parking in the shopping center.

A newcomer to Masala Story I was impressed with the customer service, relaxed atmosphere and flavorful food. I got the Lamb curry with the Garlic Naan. (Only comes with one piece of Naan so keep that in mind). I got the mild spice but it had a tiny bit of kick that was good. It came with white basmati rice and chickpeas. The lamb was good and I only wish I got the samosas to try. I was able to find free parking for several hours nearby in a neighborhood on 12th and Lawrence st. Pay attention to signs, but if you visit on a weekend parking shouldn't be a problem. They do have a bar and it's a popular spot for carryout. You can sit outside and it's family friendly. Jumping into my experience. I didn't make reservations and the hostess was so kind to accommodate me and inform me of other great opportunities to visit, one being their Pani Puri experience. Needless to say, I'll be back! I sat at the bar and received A+ service from Amanda who was supported by Renee. Amanda's personality is what you'd appreciate in a bartender, she knew the menu top to bottom and was excellent with recommending dishes and cocktails. Drinks: Kaapi Martini- a rich flavored Chai espresso martini. This drink, while delicious, was more on the creamy side and needed a half ounce more of liquor to take it from latte to cocktail. Other than that, the rich Chai taste was certainly divine but I like to have a break from sweetness or milky drinks when enjoying cocktails. Malabar- the STAR! This smokey drink was made with elite status in mind. It's the type of drink with a perfect credit score and a few properties in the Maldives-gosh this was amazing! The tequila stirred with Campari, fresh lemon, rose, and mezcal were paired together so beautifully, each supporting the other without canceling out in taste. It was the perfect balance and the smokiness added a mysterious flavor to the mix. I absolutely loved it! Golden Hour- another divine drink. Its bright color brought a festive vibe to the atmosphere and the vodka shaken with herbal liqueur, Indian turmeric, sweet pineapple, and fresh lime balanced well. It wasn't too sweet but it carried the right flavors with the turmeric and pineapple setting the tone with a citrus/warming feel. Food The Chaat and Street Food section: SPDP-toasted puffed up puris stuffed with potato, red onion and cilantro and topped with sweet yogurt, tamarind, and green chutneys. The final component was sev added on top, which is crunchy chickpea noodles. This dish, while messy to eat, is exactly what you want to order. IT WAS AMAZING! Let's explore the flavor profiles on this dish....first, the balance of sweet and spicy was insane! Imagine taking a bite and your mouth is hit with some sweet heat, that's what the sweet yogurt and tamarind offered all while the green chutney cooled down your mouth. It was ridiculously flavorful and divine! The Pav section: KFC sandwich aka Kashmiri Fried Chicken sandwich- the BEST chicken sandwich in town! As someone who adores a good chicken sandwich, there is a lot to be said about one whose flavor profile sweeps you off your feet with just one bite. The chicken breast was the juiciest and most perfectly seasoned!!!!! Brined to perfection, this chicken breast was amazingly juicy. Placed on a sweet toasted buttery bun and topped with Maggi-mayo and sweet pickles, I was stopped in my tracks by how delicious this was-my goodness! Sweets Gulab Jamun- This is the way to conclude a beautiful culinary experience. The Gulab Jamun was impeccable in taste and I tried a scoop of their ice cream on the side, sending my sweet tooth on the wild side. Both were perfect. Would I return? YES! You probably can't keep me away from this place!!!!! Do I recommend? ABSOLUTELY! Please support businesses that take the time to make their customers feel good all while painting a beautiful story through their dishes.
