We were further welcome by the soft solo piano music along with crisp white tablecloths and warm table lights. The wait staff waited on us with an appropriate balance of timeliness and space. The food was exquisite. I ordered a baked salmon that was wonderful. I cook salmon regularly at home and I am hard pressed to recreate how they prepared the salmon. Food was ok but the one hour wait to get it was definitely not. The restaurant was not even full, and it was past peak hours for a Saturday night. There were several other people who were also waiting equally as long. When they finally managed to produce the food, it was delivered by a silent waiter who just put it on the table without a word. No one bothered to check if our meal was satisfactory after we got it. If they had I would have told them we ordered Kashmiri naan rather than the plain naan we got. This isn't a super sweet drink if that's your thing so just fyi. Mango lassi: 4.5/5. Delicious. Chicken dumplings: 4.3/5. Really good! The sauce is like a tikka, makhani type sauce. The dumplings are hot but the sauce is cold. Vegetable samosas: 4/5. Solid samosa, nice and crispy. I wanted some more flavor in it but the flavors were good. Just wanted them turned up a notch. This is my family's go to for Indian food in the Crofton area. The service is always great here and the food is on point. We just came here again for my brother's birthday dinner and ordered everything to share. We started with the Kashmiri Naan which was quite good. Not what we were expecting as it was pink inside but we all really enjoyed it. We also got a full portion of the Tandoori Chicken, Malai Kofta, and Chicken Korma. Everything was so delicious. Lots of flavor and very filling portions which left us with some leftovers. They gave us a complimentary birthday mango ice cream dessert for my brother that we all enjoyed. Namaste is my go-to Indian restaurant in the Crofton-Odenton area. The staff is always kind and attentive, and you can tell the ownership is local, they really care about their guests. I love supporting small businesses like this one. They offer a traditional lunch buffet, which is a great way to sample different dishes, but I've also been for dinner and found the quality even better in the evening. My favorite dish is the chicken tikka masala, it's rich, flavorful, and perfect with their amazing garlic naan (especially when you dip it in the sauce!). Discovered this nice little restaurant recently. Warm greetings on arrival, great, decor and lighting. Very nice. Writing this review after my 2nd visit here. I am new to the cuisine (this is my 3rd dining experience with the culture), so on my first visit, I asked the server for clarity before ordering. He was very patient and made suggestions based on my likes. The food is VERY good here - my favorite so far are the lentils. I plan to return to try their weekend lunch buffet so experience the variety of offerings. Note: comparing to my first experience in the VA area, the prices here are much higher. I wasn't happy. My daughter and I used to eat here every week before the Pandemic. The buffet selection was very versatile and had a wide selection of food and desserts; very tasty. Since I don't eat buffet's much anymore, I decided to get a meal to go. I went around 1:30 pm (Monday), and ordered my food. I was expecting the lunch servicing, but I was told they didn't have a lunch serving. Though I mentioned about the menu saying LUNCH and DINNER. I ordered a dish with breast of chicken, rice and the bread. I got home to eat it, and it was not appetizing at all. There was almost no flavor, something I look forward to at Indian Restaurants. I have had this dish before at multiple places, and this was the most disappointing. And at $30 for the meal, I was displeased. I will no longer frequent this Indian Restaurant. Service is a little slow for my liking, as Im a quick eater, but they were really freindly and ensured we were never without drinks! The food was really good, I wish I got pictures of the Chicken Momos, they were really good as well. The combo special is a ton of food and it was really good. I dont know what the dessert was, but it was really good too! They have a buffet on Saturdays and Sundays (12-3), so Im definitely going to return for that as well! From the outside, it doesn't look like much but Namaste is a good date night spot because it's really cozy and intimate. Our table ordered vegetable samosas, garlic naan, butter chicken, and a few other items. Everything was amazing and spicy, which I loved. The mango lassi was delicious and the cocktails were strong. Overall, the experience was great and the service was exceptional. It is important to note that they stop seating guests well before their closing time. Turns out, the saying holds truth. If you walk into an Indian restaurant and there is no other Indian in sight, WALK OUT. I'm usually graceful about reviews that aren't great, but I can't today. This experience was mindblowingly bad. Firstly, just because the majority of your customers are not Indian, it doesn't mean you get rid of ALL spice. Secondly, this was supposed to be a Mother's Day buffet and the options seemed like it was Monday lunch buffet and it was nearing the end of service. No thought went into what was being served. This was stereotypical to the tee. Thirdly, the chicken in the tikka masala and biryani were so dry, I'm surprised people didn't choke. The Dal Makhani clearly burned and so did the rice in the kheer. There was so much oil in those pakore that I'm amazed they cleared it to put out. Not once did someone ask if we needed anything and neither was our water refilled. Reality is, if your buffet is as small as this one (no apps, chaat or proper dessert) then you must ensure each item is up to standard. It's like they didn't care. As someone who is also a cook, this experience truly broke my heart. I really wish you all cared about the food you serve to those who want a glimpse of your culture. This was embarrassing because all of the servers were running around. If you have to work hard either way, put the same effort into the food you serve. read more

This is a fantastic Indian restaurant located in the Crofton area! It is Tucktaway in a strip mall, so you might not know it was there if you weren't working. My husband and I have been there several times and have always been very pleased. The staff is incredibly friendly and polite and super helpful. While my husband loves spicy foods, so we knew he would not have a problem finding some thing on the menu, I was a little hesitant at first. However, they have a lot of fantastic options that are not as spicy and have delicious flavor. We always get combinations so we can try a little bit of everything. While it is very basic, I cannot say enough about their naan. They have different flavors that are all delicious. And they are the perfect vessel for sopping up the different sauces that all of their meals have. I really like the lame! The restaurant is beautiful. It's open and airy and very elegant looking. However, you don't have to dress up to go there. You can wear what you like and you will still feel very comfortable, even in the beautiful environment. Whether you've had Indian food before, or have never tried it, you definitely need to check this place out because they are amazing and it's a great locally owned, small business. read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The Vegetable Samosas were loaded with potatoes and peas, cooked to perfection without any oil residue and the sauces were superb. The Palak Chaat (spinach) was nicely battered and mild in flavor but the chutney and sauces elevated the flavor to an entirely new level. The entree consisted of tandoori salmon but I asked for curry on the side. It was served on a beautiful sizzling platter with mixed peppers, onions and cabbage. The portion was large enough for 2 people to share. The salmon had a mild tandoori flavor but when covered with the curry sauce it was absolutely delicious. It was served with rice but I didn't need it and instead enjoyed it with light, soft yet flakey naan. I was a super happy camper! Service was great and the server was able to clearly describe the ingredients and preparation of the dishes. I was equally impressed that the owner/manager took the time to personally greet each table and thanked everyone for coming in. Very nice touch indeed. It was a lovely, quiet and relaxing lunch. Our neighbors treated us to an exquisite lunch buffet at Namaste this past Sunday. If you enjoy delicious food cooked to perfection, you MUST try Namaste at least once! The buffet offered on Sat. and Sun. from 11:30AM to 3PM has got to be one of the best foodie experiences in the area, especially @ $24.93. The lamb was so tender is literally melts in your mouth. All of the offered dishes were good enough for a 2nd trip to the buffet! The Indian style hot tea with milk and mild spices, better known as Masala Chai is so darn tasty, I had 3 cups! The traditional Indian rice pudding "Kheer" included with the buffer will leave you wanting to do it all over again, soon! The chicken was well seasoned and tender enough to cut with the side of the fork. The naan was bland. I had the mixed grill which was a combination of chicken, lamb, and shrimp. It was well seasoned but dry. However the shrimp were fantastic, some of the best I have ever had. Glad the waiter recommended some sauce to go with the meat. The rice was excellent.
