Mango Lassi
Joiliana L.

Really tasty Indian food! I would return again. Chai-tini: 3/5. Very chai forward (which is of course what it should be). Loved the chai flavor. This isn't a super sweet drink if that's your thing so just fyi. Mango lassi: 4.5/5. Delicious. Chicken dumplings: 4.3/5. Really good! The sauce is like a tikka, makhani type sauce. The dumplings are hot but the sauce is cold. Vegetable samosas: 4/5. Solid samosa, nice and crispy. I wanted some more flavor in it but the flavors were good. Just wanted them turned up a notch. Chicken makhani: 4.2/5. Creamy and delicious. Well balanced spice wise. Just wanted more meat in more manageable cuts.

This is my family's go to for Indian food in the Crofton area. The service is always great here and the food is on point. We just came here again for my brother's birthday dinner and ordered everything to share. We started with the Kashmiri Naan which was quite good. Not what we were expecting as it was pink inside but we all really enjoyed it. We also got a full portion of the Tandoori Chicken, Malai Kofta, and Chicken Korma. Everything was so delicious. Lots of flavor and very filling portions which left us with some leftovers. They gave us a complimentary birthday mango ice cream dessert for my brother that we all enjoyed. This place is so good and I love how generous and friendly the staff and owner are. Definitely a place we'll keep visiting!

Discovered this nice little restaurant recently. Warm greetings on arrival, great, decor and lighting. Very nice. Writing this review after my 2nd visit here. I am new to the cuisine (this is my 3rd dining experience with the culture), so on my first visit, I asked the server for clarity before ordering. He was very patient and made suggestions based on my likes. The food is VERY good here - my favorite so far are the lentils. I plan to return to try their weekend lunch buffet so experience the variety of offerings. Note: comparing to my first experience in the VA area, the prices here are much higher. But location is convenient, and the owner is onsite, and greets each diner. This makes it worth it for me.

Service is a little slow for my liking, as Im a quick eater, but they were really freindly and ensured we were never without drinks! The food was really good, I wish I got pictures of the Chicken Momos, they were really good as well. The combo special is a ton of food and it was really good. I dont know what the dessert was, but it was really good too! They have a buffet on Saturdays and Sundays (12-3), so Im definitely going to return for that as well! Restaurant was pretty quiet and it seemed like a lot of people were ordering to go, which is the only way I had eaten there in the past.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much but Namaste is a good date night spot because it's really cozy and intimate. Our table ordered vegetable samosas, garlic naan, butter chicken, and a few other items. Everything was amazing and spicy, which I loved. The mango lassi was delicious and the cocktails were strong. Overall, the experience was great and the service was exceptional. It is important to note that they stop seating guests well before their closing time. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items.

A bit pricey but upscale place settings, linen table cloth/napkins; great service, delicious food. Highly recommend!

I don't know what this was but it was delicious

The food is average, a little pricey for food quality and portions. And, the service is not noteworthy.

The website was slow and I was trying to avoid paying an upcharge by using a third party app. It did not have all the options for extra sides. If I wanted no meat saag I couldn't find it. Didn't feel as user friendly as I would've liked. I did try ordering through another app but they didn't have everything I was trying to order either and then for some reason the app crashed. I wish I could remember which one. I finally called and was able to successfully place an order. So, future orders will be via call I don't think I even want to try ordering online again. Which, is a shame. The only reason this place got another star knocked from my review was I felt I didn't get a lot of meat for what I was paying for. Plenty of sauce and rice, not much meat. This is probably more of a personal opinion. I would order again, but I don't think this restaurant would be my go to. I'd prefer to order from a restaurant that I don't have to call for an easy order and I'm on the hunt for something local, but I can get a little more meat. I'm just a meat loving gal. That's all. I will say, the flavors were hitting. So, despite my opinion, the food was delicious and I do recommend for anyone to give it a try.

Not crowded for a Saturday and seated right away. They were pretty busy at least for delivery that it took a bit for our order but maybe because we were busy chatting and reminiscing. Couple of us had mango lassi sparkler - we enjoyed it and one ordered a non-alcoholic mango lassi and ended up not enjoying it - too yogurty for her. For the appetizer: chicken momo (dumpling) and samosa. Not bad! Main meal, I had the mixed platter which was very plentiful and flavorful, butter chicken mild and medium spice for two of the gals, and finally shrimp curry medium for the 4th gal. We highly recommended the very garlicky naan . The only negative I would say is that they were going to charge for extra sauce for my mixed platter. Ambiance was ok but a tad dark.

I came here for lunch with a friend. Like many Indian places, they do shut-down between lunch and…read moredinner. They close at 3pm and reopen at 5pm. We were headed to Amber Spice for a late lunch, and fortunately, we made it in before the 2:45pm cutoff (I called ahead to check). Since it was almost lunch closing, they did request that we place our orders soon after being seated. We already knew what we wanted to order, so we didn't feel rushed otherwise. We started with the veggie samosas ($6, two pieces), which were served with the traditional tamarind sauce and spicy cilantro chutney. The samosas were packed with the potato and pea filling and had a lightly crisp exterior. They were as good as any. For my entree, I ordered the butter chicken ($20), which is served with a side of basmati rice. When ordering, the waiter didn't ask about spice level. I did find their butter chicken to have some heat to it, but it wasn't anything crazy - I'd say a 3/10 for spiciness - I felt the warmth. The chicken was super tender and moist. I would be happy getting this again. I also ordered the garlic naan ($5), because you have to have something to sop up the curry goodness. The naan was hot and fresh; you could also taste the garlic. One basket came with four pieces (one whole naan), which is perfect for sharing. I finished the meal with the gulab jamun ($6) for dessert which came with three pieces of the fried dough balls served in a sweet syrup. My friend ordered the mango kulfi and loved it! She described it as a mango lassi, but frozen, which made it that much more light and refreshing. Amber Spice is a casual dining spot and it has the service to match. We were brought a carafe of water for the table to start, so it was self-serve the rest of the way. Food was brought out quickly and plates were cleared at the end, but we weren't checked on during the meal. Perhaps since we arrived near lunch closing, service was winding down, but we got what we needed. I enjoyed the food here and would come again. Everything that we had was not only super tasty, but also reasonably priced. There's also plenty of parking in the shopping center.
