Flavors that hit every note -- an Indian food experience to remember! From start to finish, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The chicken biryani was the standout -- perfectly cooked basmati rice layered with tender, juicy chicken and a blend of spices that packed heat and flavor without overwhelming the dish. Every spoonful was rich, aromatic, and satisfying. The chicken samosas were golden and crispy on the outside with a warm, flavorful filling inside. You could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients in every bite. The garlic naan was soft, buttery, and had just the right amount of char -- ideal for scooping up bites of biryani or dipping into chutneys. To top it all off, the lassi was cool, creamy, and refreshing -- the perfect balance to the spice of the meal. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. If you're craving bold, authentic Indian flavors, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30-50

I really don't even wanna write a really good review for them because I wish I could keep this place to myself, but I also want them to succeed! When I say the best butter chicken, I've had in takeout I really mean that. Sometimes you sit at a restaurant and the food seems to taste really good but then sometimes she can order takeout and it's doesn't seem fresh or something. I happen to see them as I came off the highway and I decided let me try them because I saw their sign many times. I've had good Indian food in Reston and Rockville and even in Asia, this place, this family and their food reminded me of being and living in Asia. So so so good really nice people lovely clean restaurant friendly service spacious, did I mention fast!? I called in the order. They told me 20 minutes. I went in there in 10 minutes and the owner was like oh yeah it's ready! Beautiful, beautiful food, beautiful people and they were pretty busy actually it was Saturday night after all. I can't stress that the food was just as good as when I lived in Asia I got butter, chicken, plain naan, I asked for chicken Samosa, but they gave me beef, but they were still delicious and I love the sauces with it the green and the vinegar sauce . I almost went back again today, but I still had so much food left. The portion size is a lot for a single person. Definitely can eat 2 to 3 meals for one person. I am so happy I found this family and this business!

This is my favorite Indian restaurant by far. The flavors are robust and the food is fresh. The managers and waiters are friendly and on top of things. The restaurant is nice and clean and spacious. I've been here like 5 times in 3 weeks. My favorites: AMABER SPICE WINGS- amazingly crunch on outside but not dry on inside. The flavor was so savory with a lil kick to it. Maybe my fave wings in DMV. EGG CURRY WITH CEYLON PARATHA- the egg and the curry were so flavorful and smooth without being thin or too chunky. The CEYLON PARATHA was AMAZING. It's goes perfectly with the curry but I was eating it by itself too. Nice crisp but soft and a great taste to it. POORI BHAJI- this dish was so refreshing. One of the fresher dishes I've eaten. Seems like they grew all the ingredients themselves. Such a rich consistency. Cilantro put it over the top. VEGGIE FRIED RICE: Couldn't believe and Indian spot made better veggie fried rice than the chines spots I've been too. Everything was so fresh. SUKKA WITH PRAWNS- The prawns were really good. And fresh and had good size to it. The flavor of the sauce was a lil sour. But still kind of good. PALAAK PANEER- this was ok, decent flavor. Idk if I would get it again tho. BAGARA BAINGAN- I wouldn't get this again. The flavor was just weird, like too tangy. Only dish I don't like at all.

Four pieces of fried chicken with crispy, seasoned coating are served in a black takeout container, accompanied by a green dipping sauce in a separate container.

These wings were cooked to perfection! I can't wait to go back and try some other menu items

Fabulous experience. Phenomenal food. Super flavorful cuisine and lovely ambiance. Me and a colleague dropped by here for lunch yesterday since we were in the area. He comes here all the time and I told him I had it on my Yelp list so we came here just before their 3p mid afternoon closure. They reopen for dinner though, but we'd be gone from the area by then so we got here right about 2:35p. The owner Moses was there and helped serve us. Very nice gentleman. Very hospitable and humble. We had a smorgasbord of delights too! I had curry goat and basmati rice, some wonderful chicken wings, and Long Island iced tea. Those wings were crispy 'n hot. Burn your mouth fresh out the oil hot. We both split a LAMB KHEEMA DOSAI. Wonderful! Imagine a long crepe roll stuff with rice and lamb. Delicious! And definitely unique. Thin, crispy rice & lentil crepe stuffed with spicy ground lamb. Served with Sambar and Coconut Chutney. First time trying it and super tasty! LAMB SUKKA was on the menu too. And these two creamy desserts: Both reminded me of crème anglaise, which I love. KHEER Rich, creamy, decadent sweet rice, broken wheat and vermicelli pudding, flavoured with cardamom, raisins, saffron, cashews and pistachios RASMALAI Sweet, saffron milk infused cheese curd ( chhena ) flattened dumplings, soaked in cardamom infused clotted cream ( malai ). Garnished with pistachios I eat lots of Indian food and this was some of the best I've had in a while. Get yourself here if you haven't been and even if you have. Beautiful interiors, lovely bathrooms, nice onsite parking in the small strip mall area next to the restaurant. Everything is two thumbs up here. You can tell the pride that's taken in this business.

Went here to get dinner and ordered vegetable biryani, chicken biryani, aloo gobi and spinach kofta. I ordered the food to take home and it was ready in 15 minutes. They also provided 2 extra containers of white rice but no naan. That is one item I wish they would offer without you having to pay for it separately. Despite that we enjoyed the food and will order from here again.

This was neat find. We were just driving around and the restaurant sign caught our eye. We weren't terribly hungry so we got a few items to share. All of the items we ordered were good and tasty. -Chaat Samosa: flavorful, but really saucy. They cut up one samosa and topped it with chickpeas, yogurt, onion and the tamarind sauce. -Mulligatawny Soup: this one had so many layers of flavor, even though it was just a lentil bean soup. -Paper Masala Dosai: thin, crispy lentil crepe filled with spiced potatoes? delicious. The coconut was really spicy, but the soupy sauce (sorry, can't remember the name) was perfect to dip. -Palak Paneer: mild and creamy. We actually used the dosai to scoop up the palak. Very tasty. -Fresh Lime Soda: I haven't seen this on any meny before, so I had to try it. This drink was very refreshing. It says they sprinkle a little bit of salt, which I think helped to augment the sweetness of the lime. The servers were friendly and not over-bearing. It was a perfect balance. The food came out in a timely manner and was still warm when it arrived at our table. The restaurant sits on a busy intersection of route 1. The parking is a little weird, but there is plenty of spots. Inside has a lot of seating. Very well-lit and clean. Price is fair for the portions and quality of food.

I loved the chicken biryani! It was so flavorful and tasted so good. And a great portion. Will be coming back immediately!

Lamb Chops - Lamb chops with green herbs are placed on a foil-covered tray, with tongs resting on top. A bowl of red sauce is nearby, and a smartphone is on the table.

Wow, wow, and one more wow! I absolutely love Indian food and have had quite a few great experiences in the area. There was something a bit different and special about the experience at Amber Spice. First off, parking is plentiful. Located in a large shopping center. Always a win. Next win was the overall vibe. It's casual but still has a fancy component to it. Also has a bar with about 6 seats. The food was the star of the show! We split a few different apps and entrees. They have quite an extensive menu with options you don't always see at Indian restaurants. My favorite items were... 1-The vegetable Pakoras- first time trying these. Yummy!! Good size to share. 2-Mulligatawny soup- felt adventurous and wanted to give it a try. WOW. Flavor explosion. Reminded me of a spilt pea soup as far as the consistency goes. Has a kick to it, so make sure you're ok with spice. It was so good I used some of it over my rice. 3- Lamb chops- comes with a side of rice and what seems to be a masala sauce (not 100% sure). 3 nice sized, perfectly cooked and seasoned chops. Another WOW. Our server was really nice and helped with making some of our food selections. Two thumbs up for me!!!

Before seeing a movie, I was hungry... decided to check out this Indian place that I had been eyeing for quite a while! It's easy to see from the main street (Route 1), but depending on which direction you're going, it can be tricky to get into that plaza haha. I was meeting a friend, but I was first there. When I said it was just two of us, I was told I could sit wherever I liked. I picked the closest booth, and got a carafe of water. My buddy came and got settled, and we got to reviewing the menus. We got samosas, chaat, and idli (which I've never had before). Idli was good, but the sambar was the true highlight -- and samosas and chaat never disappoint me! For our entrees, my friend got tandoori chicken and I got Special Rava Masala Dosai -- the crepe was made with cream of wheat!!! I couldn't resist trying something new, so that was awesome -- and I got more sambar, so I enjoyed dipping the crepe in that. I got to taste my buddy's chicken too -- that was GREAT, flavorful and moist. There's a lot more to explore on the menu, but I am curious about how other things are?? This was one of the few times I didn't have naan or paratha, so that's a must for next time. Looking forward to my next visit. Be mindful of their closure from 3:00-5:00 PM!

UPDATE: I've by now made more than 2 visits and will continue coming back...question I always fight with is: Do I try something new or order what I've already enjoyed? Since I first started coming here, I can say with conviction that my favourites are: Chicken samosa, chicken 65, chicken tikka dosai, ceylon paratha, Haleem and Naan, gulab jamun, and rasmalai. Service is always fantastic - friendly, patient, quick.

There was a small cup of sauce (or soup?) that was served alongside my large bowl of rice. I didn't catch the name of it. Anybody know what that would be?

It may have been the butter chicken sauce. That was what was served alongside my naan

Is the buffet still not available?

Not as of our visit today 12/8/22 lunch was via Menu items.

    When will buffet open again?

As of my visit in December 15 2021 - No

This small, family-owned restaurant offers freshly prepared, well-seasoned South Asian cuisine in a quiet, welcoming setting. The food was flavorful, generously portioned, and made to order. We enjoyed chicken karahi, chapli kabab, chicken seekh kabab, goat curry, and chana, followed by tea. The freshly grilled meats were tender and aromatic, and the house-made breads were warm and delicious. Though the restaurant may appear unassuming from the outside, its food quality makes the visit truly worthwhile. The owner, Manzoor Ahmad, and his staff were warm, attentive, and gracious. We appreciated the pleasant conversation with the owner and the thoughtful gesture of complimentary items. The only drawback was the service time, since most dishes are prepared fresh on a small grill, resulting in a noticeable wait. However, the freshness and taste more than compensated for the delay. Overall, we had an excellent dining experience and would gladly make the relatively long drive again to enjoy their authentic and satisfying cuisine. Zafar Iqbal, PhD, Herndon, VA
