I would hands down come back here again. It looks like they might do a buffet and if that's the case I'd love to come back to try more dishes. Service was very friendly and the ambience was nice. Parking was also very easy. What we got: Chicken 65 Biryani - 5* fried chicken in deliciously cooked fried rice with a side of refreshing cucumber yogurt was a hit. Butter chicken (spicy) - I asked for it spicy and they delivered, it was wonderful! The cream based sauce was divine and the chicken tender. The side of jasmine rice was cooked perfectly. Garlic naan - 4.5* I tend to like my naan fluffier, hence the slightly less rating but it was still delicious and worth getting. This is our Bangla Bazaar owner's restaurant. We tried it and loved everything about it. The decor, the atmosphere, and everything was great. Very clean. Our server was amazing. We tried different dishes and everything was delicious! We tried chole bhatura, Hakka noodles and poori. The fried rice was out of this world! Really the best I had in this county. Unassuming "hole in the wall" with good biryani. Service was relatively quick and the biryani was good. Tried the Mutton Biryani. It was quite salty and the raita could've been more seasoned, but the meat had a good flavor to accompany the rice. Satisfied my biryani craving at the time. Then after telling them couple of times they offered 10% discount and didn't even took the dish out. They din't even had the courtesy to even offer to take the dish out from the bill. I don't like doing negative reviews/comments since I too am a restaurant owner and I know that bad reviews can affect your business however, this review is on service and maybe they will read it and retrain thier folks. We were a party of 5 early evening, they were not busy at all, only one other table. They put us way in the back with all the stacked chairs and other junk. It took us forever to get a server and when she did come she only gave us 2 menus. Warm water was given to us with no ice and we had to beg for that. Our appetizers came after our meal and my sons never came at all and once she gave us our food we never saw her again and had to hunt another server down for out check AND they had the nerve to charge us a 18% gratuity. read more

Visited the restaurant this past weekend (Saturday) due to a private event that was to take place from 1pm - 4pm. As soon as I entered a few minutes past 1 pm, I noticed guests eating in the restaurant that were NOT part of the guest list. The owner essentially was double dipping and did not apologize for this. Outside of the owner and staff providing absolute horrible service and nasty attitudes, here are other things that took place: 1. Food was not being replenished (this was a buffet lunch with about 80 people that had to constantly wait for food). 2. Rude service staff and customer service in general. We had to ask for every little thing and owner was irritated to do tasks that would be part of the restaurant's job. She also raised her voice at a customer and got an attitude stating 'You paid for food, not service!' 3. Floors were not done and the place looked disgusting and smelled. 4. Noticed a child in the kitchen, which I'm pretty sure is not sanitary or allowed. 5. Silverware and plates ran out so people had no choice but to take their unhygienic used plates back to the buffet line. 6. Lastly, the owner asked patrons to dispose of their used plates, cups and silverware THEMSELVES! When asked for new ones, they brought out ones that looked dirty! 7. Food was not very flavorful or tasty either How this restaurant is open and functional is beyond me. Highly suggest you do not visit! UPDATE 11/8/22 in regards to YOUR original response that YOU deleted What a disguisting and tasteless response, just like your restaurant and staff! Secondly, quite bizarre you are attacking me when I am simply a patron pointing out issues with YOUR business. The management is very arrogant to take to any feedback and at the same time She is arguing. 1. Menu Prices and Receipts Prices do not match (EX. Pepper Fry (Goat) in Menu $14.00 and in Bill $21.99,). It is a rip-off. 2. Ordered the Pepper Fry (GOAT) as very bad half cooked. 3. After I had my Talapakam Biryani and Chicken 65, looks like I had food poison (vomiting and loose motions). I have been in the US for 31 years, I ordered chilli Panner and Chicken Hakka Noodles, both were the worst that I have ever had in my entire life. Never in my life going back here again. No taste or spice in Chilli Paneer, completely blend. Hakka noodles tasted like Maggie with added chicken and a few veggies. It was just horrible and waste of hard earned $$$. Poor Service. Service to me was appalling, and several other people who have eaten here when comparing notes have said the same. The spice blends seem like they're Andhra Pradeshi. I love this spice blend but what is unfortunate is they've used these spice blends in curries they don't belong like the the "makhni" curries, and the "tikka" curries. Very poor ability to follow directions. When ordering food In person or online it seems impossible to express to them "mild." There is one exception, twice I ate here with caucasian colleagues, and they had no problem understanding what "make it mild" means. So I have a feeling the scale of spiciness changes depending on what one looks like when ordering, and/or if your names seem south asian. I kid you not - they cut up some kind of fried chicken (seemed like Chicken Strips from KFC) and threw it into the rice for their "Indo-Chinese Fried Rice" dish. I think we've tried this place several times, trying to pick different dishes each time. None of it was exceptional or even good. Just okay. Was hoping this wouldn't be the case as it's on the way home from work, and makes picking up something on the way easy. But, sorry to say cannot return to this establishment ever again. We're done. Gave this new place a try with a carry out order. The boneless chicken biryani was excellent!! One of the best we've had in the DMV and we've tried many places. Chicken Tikka Masala was also good and flavorful. The inside ambiance is just meh but the food is delicious. This will be a regular for us! read more

I had booked the entire restaurant for a party, and I experienced THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE and most unhygienic conditions I have ever seen. The owner initially seemed alright to work with and I had multiple conversations with her ahead of time to ensure everything would go smoothly. However, she did not hold up her end of the deal at all. We had the entire restaurant booked from 1-4. In fact, we had paid her in full ahead of time. She assured me that there would be no other guests outside of our party throughout that timeframe. However, when we arrived and when our guests began arriving, there were at least 12 other guests there that were not a part of our party. When we asked the owner about this, she raised her voice at us, claiming that there was nothing she could do. These other guests outside of our party remained there for at least an hour and a half into our party. Our guests had to split up their seating because of the other guests that were there. Additionally, the menu was different from what had been established and paid for, the food repeatedly kept running out and guests had to wait and continuously ask for refills (which took at least 15 minutes each time, and every time anything was asked of her, she expressed a negative attitude), and they ran out of plates and cups and replaced them with disposable plates and cups (at one point, the plates and cups she was bringing out looked dirty and unclean). The icing on the cake was that when we asked for her to bring out additional cups (by the way, she was the only one working out in the front for a party of 70+ guests), she very rudely stated that all of the cups were used and on the guest tables and that we needed to help them clean up by putting them in the dirty bins. I was shocked. Never before have I had to help the restaurant staff clean up after eating there. We paid for that service. She repeatedly stated "You're only paying for the food, and not the service. You need to help clean up." We paid a per person cost, which included the food, service and our booking. The restaurant also looked awful. They were apparently in the process of redoing their floors and had removed the old flooring, revealing the ugly subfloor. We had come into the restaurant multiple times over the span of a few weeks prior to the party, and she promised us the floors would be done. On the day of the party, the flooring was NOT completed. At the end of the party, we tried to talk to her about all of the things that had occurred. She raised her voice at us and told us that she provided the best customer service there was. I could not help but laugh. She also repeatedly told me to not raise my voice at her, while she was doing the same to me. She would not let me speak; she was adamant about interrupting me and telling me that she had no fault in anything. She has no idea what customer service means, as it was literally the worst customer service I had experienced. We also had less guests attend than we had anticipated, and she refused to provide a refund for the guests that could not attend. I was embarrassed and horrified to have hosted a party at this restaurant to celebrate something that was supposed to be meaningful for my guests and I. I had initially booked my party here because the previous owner was wonderful to work with and we never had any issues hosting our parties there under his ownership. We didn't think having a party in the same location under a different owner would be this different, but it was horrible. Save your money and DO NOT go to this restaurant. Decided to try this place for their weekend buffet. This restaurant use to be called Royal Indian Cuisine but has now been taken over by a different management. Upon entering we were allowed to seat ourselves. The Buffett had 3-4 different types of biryani, one of them was vegetarian biryani. I was disappointed the biryani rice was kind of hard and the flavors over all were bland. They also had chicken curry was lacked flavor, chicken tikka masala was ok but not great. Some other gravy dishes were a little spicier then usual. They had small masala dosas which were tasty. For dessert they had two options one was pineapple kesari and fruit custard. The kesari I liked but my husband said his tasted powdery like it needed to be mixed better. They also had masala chai tea included in the buffet which I liked. Overall, we were not impressed with the buffet because some dishes were very spicy, bland and not great. The customer service was great though. The staff was kind and attentive. I hope they read this review and take the constructive criticism to improve the taste and quality of the food. read more

OMG! food was so Yummy. There are so many more dishes I want to try, The Dal Makhani and the Goat Korma was soooo good. Would have been nice if they included a piece of naan with their entrees and if they had Kheer as a dessert and mango lassi as a drink on the menu but I'm happy that the food is DELISH! Ordered thru Grubhub I was torn between Ethopian food or Indian and my first love is Indian I could not help myself, but I will try the other resturants in the area too, but Biryani Joint will be my go to for Indian food.
