My law firm needed some last minute holiday gift baskets, so I stopped in with my boss to check out their selection. Dan was uber helpful (and it didn't hurt that he gave us tons of samples). Despite the fact that we were terribly last minute (I think it was the week of Christmas already) he was incredibly helpful and personable. He allowed us to customize our baskets with certain types of snacks that we wanted to or didn't want to include. Our clients had nothing but great things to say about the baskets they delivered. The staff was also very accommodating when several of our baskets were returned and/or we wanted to change instructions. We forgot to give them new instructions about one of our returned baskets and they even gave us a "basket credit" for our next order. The prices are comparable to other gift basket companies, but the service definitely excels. It's also great that they periodically send me small baskets for random occasions (like a pot o' gold for St. Patrick's Day) to remind me of how great of a job they did.

Ok, I'm looking for something metallic. I needed something other than the usual picture frame or keychain. There are a couple of store associates, and the friendly gal helps me narrow down some items. She made sure to verify the engraving: layout, font, message, spelling, etc. She gave me an approximate time for me to return when the engraving would be ready. The engraving was not ready as promised so I had to come back another day. Disappointing, but not devastating since I had time before anniversary day. All in all it was ok, except for the one hiccup. Nice people, clean engraving, but the goods were not delivered on time.

I headed to the back to find the Oracle deck cards. She had a decorative table in the back displaying her gorgeous Oracle deck cards. There were little refreshments and amazing cookies to celebrate the occasion. After learning more about Oracle deck cards, I decided to shuffle and pull two cards. They were exactly on point. I became emotional and decided to explore the rest of the store. I realized I did give myself a big enough budget. I have never sold there though I would like to look into it and I have talked to people about it and understand it is reasonable. Usually the sales are held at the La Mesa Community Center so that is the address I have listed, but occasionally they are held short distance away, down the hill at the Nan Couts cottage. Both venues are small and cozy and the sales are fun and don't require a huge amount of walking. There are always plenty of handmade items to choose from and often craft supplies as well. The ladies who work it are very nice. Bathrooms are available and occasionally light refreshments. Naturally the sales that are close to Christmas have more Christmas decoration type merchandise where whereas the ones held in the spring and summer have more summer related items though you might find all of the above year round. There are a few edibles along with the gift items and useful items. You can find dish towels, key chains, dog biscuits, aprons, tea cozies, planters, jellies, hand painted wine glasses, homemade cookies, dip mixes, pet related items, American Girl doll clothes, Christmas tree ornaments, hand sewn and hand knitted items, jewelry and beaded items, beautiful scarves, and even a few items of furniture and wall hangings.
