I for sure understand that Snap Auto loans are a third party lender, but you advertise for them in your shop and it's not in the best interest of the customer. 30% loan after someone calling to inform you before the appointment time, to not waste your time or mine, that I couldn't afford a big shop bill at the time and you guys recommended a system that is meant to take advantage of people in similar situations. That IS your fault. Also I came in with a check engine light and was told to, "Google the error code". why in the world would I take my vehicle into a shop to get worked on to be told to "Google" check engine light codes by the employee? Plus directly after that conversation and after the one about not being able to pay a big shop bill proceeds to tell me, spark plugs, break fluid and oil change HAD to be done. They didn't I can show the last oil change and break inspection. Vehicle is at another shop as of today and they use your shop receipt as a reference of all the. "work" that needs to be redone bc you have a bunch of kids who don't know what they are doing and tell you to "google" it. The only urgency I experienced was getting payment. Really hope no one else who is trying to figure life out solo doesn't take their vehicle here to be taken advantage of. read more

Pricing. They quoted me parts prices that were way above retail pricing at a dealer. See for yourself. Call a dealer for an over the counter price on a genuine (GM, Chrysler, Ford, etc.) part then look at the price quote from Spencer. They claim they need to mark up the list price to make a profit, but they already get a discount off the list price from the dealer. This is strictly my opinion based on actual, personal events. read more

I signed up for alignment online at this point, an appointment was set at 1PM today. When I showed up 20 minutes earlier, the guy at the office told me that I have to wait for another alignment, if he quit, then my turn. He explained that the appointment made online with Spencer did not match with his schedule. This garage is unreliable. read more

I was parked at the Walmart Neighborhood Market next door when my battery died. I walked next door to this Spencer Auto Repair and told them about my problem. They immediately walked with me to my car to see if the battery was strong enough to jump. We discussed battery prices at Spencer but he never pressured me to buy. He mentioned another company that may be a few dollars cheaper, but I drove my vehicle next door to Spencer. They immediately checked my battery strength and replaced it. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. It's been nice to speak with business people that speak to you genuinely, not like a business looking for money. This place is shady af. Took my 81 yr old mother's car in for free AC inspection. Was initially told the AC system was good and that it probably just needed a recharge and schrader valves replaced. I agreed. Then they removed the existing refrigerant (it was about 80% full) and tried to recharge it and discovered that actually there was a leak. Then explained it would be another $100 just to determine where the leak was (which is what the original inspection was supposed to do in the first place). I said no and requested they simply recharge the system back to where it was. They said no, they couldn't do that. Classic bait & switch bs. I left with NO cold air in the AC (it was blowing about 67 f when I brought it in) and this is my 81 yr old mother only car in mid June with 114 f heat outside. What a bunch of scumbags these guys are. read more

After the dealership could not diagnose the issue, we took it to Spencer's auto and the staff was super friendly and helpful in digging into what the root cause was. This week I had to have the Eissions on my SUV repaired in order to register it again for another 2 years. My Hyundai is 17 years old never failed to pass but this time it did.. .I paniced but finally went to Spencer Auto in Mesa... Dave told me what they could do and to top it off... I a Senior lady could get help paying for the repairs . I got on line applied and was approved almost imediately.. Took My SUV in on Monday and I picked it up Tuesday that fast and today got the vehilce tagged.. This is the second time Spencer Auto helped me. My 2 daughters one older lives on the East Coast the other the youngest lives on th West Coast and her husband contacted Spencer n took care of everything ..I just dropped the SUV off and picked it up days later and with AC !! Thought I was in heaven! It was a hot July day..So here I sit at midnight (been a busy day) happy that I had the good senses to go to Spencer again and I will from now on!! Awesome customer service! They were honest and went out of their way to help. I was quoted over $1500 for a service by a mobile mechanic, when I called Spencer's they asked me to come in so they could inspect the vehicle. Turns out all I needed was a battery. The manager there said my battery should be under warranty. He made a couple of calls to auto one and they delivered a new battery and Spencer's fixed my car. I paid nothing. I was blown away. As a woman, I always feel a bit leary when going to get work on my car because I worry about being taken advantage of. But these guys were amazing. I decided to take my 2005 Mazda Tribute to Spencer Auto again. That is my last and final mistake with them. The service manager was nice, but when they heard a knocking in my motor, they didn't even check the fluids. Plus I have been noticing missing bolts fall out of bottom of my vehicle. Spencer Auto is the only mechanic that has been in my motor. I have spent almot $10,000 in 3 years with this place and my vehicle should be running much better than it does. I only use it to and from work. This time, a few nuts for the engine cover were missing. The worst part is, they did a diagnosis and said it was my torque converter. Which is $1900. Instead of noticing a major oil leak dripping on my exhaust manifold from the oil filter area. (Not caused by them thank goodness.) I have worked on my own vehicles for years and now relying on someone to take the same care I do, is very difficult. read more

Amazing customer service! I went in for an AC check. I scheduled a time, they took my car right back. I also told them my tire pressure light is on and another shop told me my front drivers side sensor needed replaced. He let me know after checking it that it doesn't need replaced just recalibrated. Which he did and checked my tires pressures also. That saved me $118 for the part plus labor the other shop was going to charge me. Everyone on the team at Spencers was so friendly. I didn't feel taken advantage of, things were explained well (I learned a lot) and I spent under $100 getting my AC recharged ($86). I may have a leak and we have a game plan set to figure that out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I usually do my own maintenance on my vehicle, but I need to get a lot of other things done so I took it over to Spencer's. I was greeted by Randy who did an awesome getting me all set up with an oil change and safety inspection. He told me it would take about an hour (only took 40 min) and provided me with a bottle of water while I waited. Their technician, Jace pulled the car right up to the window where I was sitting and performed the maintenance literally in front of me . I was very impressed with that... and he did a great job. Once they were done they left the car on with the A/C going... and ANOTHER bottle of water waiting for me in the car. Top notch... great job guys. I'll definitely recommend you guys. read more

Great locally owned auto shop. Recently moved to the area, they sent me a mailer for an oil change that I needed so I took advantage. Great friendly service and they were accurate with their time estimates, even offered me an Uber back to my house while I waited. Great service overall. We started taking our vehicles here after getting such horrible customer service from our dealer. We had great service from Spencer Auto Repair and was so glad we had found a place that seemed really good. We started taking all 4 of our vehicles here for service. Well, the last time my husband took his diesel truck in for an oil change and when he went to pick it up, they said we had a little issue. Well, I guess when they were changing the oil, the truck fell off the lift. They probably could have said nothing to us as the damage was underneath and other than the driver's door that sticks and now we have loud road noise, you wouldn't notice that there was anything wrong. Plus, they didn't charge us for that oil change. They did refer us to a body shop that they use so we took it there. It's at the body shop as I write this and I'm sure everything will be fixed correctly. It's just really caused us a lot of inconvenience. That is the truck we use to pull our travel trailer with so we had to postpone a few camping trips as it's taking a while to get this done since they have to order parts and the body shop is extremely busy. Needless to say, we have decided to return to the dealer for all of our auto service needs. read more

First of all I recently moved to the East Mesa area and needed to find a reliable auto repair shop, Love my one in Chandler but needed one close by. Posted an inquiry on Yelp for A/C servicing. Spencer's almost immediately responded. I then called and spoke with Randy. Made an appointment, and was given a price for service which based on my issue of warmer a/c on driver side. Got there at 8am. It did need an a/c purge and refill! Also did a free DETAILED safety inspection! Was out of the shop by 8:40! Excellent customer service, clean waiting area and open windows into work area so you can watch repairs if you choose. Air is ICE COLD again! Will be back! read more

While I was driving I got a flat tire and immediately pulled into Spencer Auto Repair. As soon as I arrived Brandon came out & asked how he could help me. I told him that I think I have a flat tire. Willy the Store Manager then came out too. They took a look at the tire and upon first inspection could not see a nail. He pulled it into the garage, jacked it up and inspected it again. Still no nail or sign of a hole. He then took the tire off the car so he could inspect the "inside" of the tire off the rim. Branden and Willy then found the "razor blade split" in the tire and repaired it! KUDOS to Spencer Auto Repair. This shop in wonderful!!! Great bunch of honest guys!! I took my car to Spencer's ' automotive after trying find what the problem was. The staff William and Brindi their customer services was excellent. When you take your vehicle to a new place that you're not familiar with you're somewhat leary. I had a print out that I had gotten on read on could be the problem and William took it from there. They put my mind at ease. I waited for a bit and was told that would a couple of hours to find the problem. Bottom line they took care of my car and was ready the next day.
