The parking was easy, with plenty of spots in the lot shared with Ace, and there was plenty of seating, both inside and outside. The menu had plenty of sweet and savory options, and our group went with the Manhattan chowder, Italian mix sandwich, fish and chips, and a cheese and artichoke quesadilla, as well as some lattes. The employee taking our order did great, as was the one that brought everything to our outdoor table, and the one that came to clean everything off the table. They had no problem with us finishing the coffees after they locked up. The batter on my fish was crunchy with the fish perfectly cooked. The same was true for the French fries. Everyone else was happy with their order as well. It's nice to know that this option is available, and we'll have to come back to try the breakfast fare.

The tray has the "pitcher", a glass for service, and a glass of palate cleansing jade tea in the middle. (I did have to ask what the jade tea was) The palate cleanse was the perfect start. The Costa Rican coffee was heavenly, one of those drinking experiences where even my amateur palate was engaged. So my friend and I crossed Madison Avenue and peeked into the tinted windows. Not only were they open, but the place was bustling. The inside of Jacob Alejandro is elegant and beautifully decorated. Furniture, plants, music and wall art are arranged to set moods. It feels more like a club than a coffee house. The baristas are super friendly, helpful and patient. As I tried to make up my mind on what to order, they offered suggestions. I wound up with matcha. I think my friend had some kind of latte. I remember both beverages were delicious. The drink menu is straightforward offering hot & iced drinks including coffee, espresso, cappuccino, machiatos, lattes, tea (cup or pot to stay), iced tea and cold brew (coming soon at the time of posting). They also have a few baked goods for sale to go with your drink. I stopped by Black Cat Coffee recently for coffee. I got a Medium 12 oz Hot Coffee ($3 plus tax) which was very very hot and definitely needed a cardboard hot drink sleeve from the creamer & sweetener station. The service here was prompt. The coffee was brewed just right and no bitter taste, even drinking it black. I took advantage of the free wifi to catch up on news while enjoying my hot breakfast food I picked up from another cafe with my hot coffee.
