Just a mug of tea with flat warm milk. So this time I took my drink back and talked to the barista. I showed her the drink, and she acknowledged that it definitely was not very creamy or foamy. But here is the part that really floored me. She said that they use an "auto steamer" (which is a steaming and frothing device used by larger coffee chains) and that there was nothing they could do about this situation. Seriously? They then just looked at me with blank stares. Totally bizarre for a small local shop that considers itself to be unique and focused on quality.

We opted for a box of 6 pastries, ranging in taste and size, and my Honey Almond latte and I was in literal heaven. The pastries are HUGE and we happily split with family. They seemed to know lots of regulars who came in for beverages and food. Atmosphere: The place is super cute. It has an old-time feel to it, with a tin ceiling, wood floors, period lighting, and a cast-iron radiator. If you want to work out of this location, make sure you have a fully charged battery as there are few outlets in the inner cafe area; the outer area is better equipped that way but was decidedly lacking in heat and not a place I could stay for any larger amount of time! Milk Chocolate Peanut Cups: I don't know if there's a better combination with milk chocolate than…read morepeanut butter. It's important that each component be just right or it can ruin the cup though. The Nutman Company was founded in 1992 in Hubertus, WI. Not that I dislike Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (quite the opposite), but Nutman's version is easily superior and possibly the best I've ever had. After having these I could easily go without ever having Reese's again (gasp). The milk chocolate is smooth & creamy. Biting into the chocolate, it's very soft & the creamy peanut butter innards are quickly exposed. Reese's has a chunkier and more solid peanut butter core. The core of this product is more velvety & smooth. It's not in a messy liquid state, but it's not nearly as firm as Reese's and other brands either. It reminds me of peanut butter chocolates from another local WI candy maker (Quality Candy/Buddy Squirrel). Just like those other brands, Nutman's version is Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews
