I guess it's kind of a typical convenience store--but for Riverwest, where usually nothing's all that typical. They have snacks and beer and a small selection of groceries. But some of the selection is kind of eclectic. The beer selection is definitely way better than a typical convenience store's. When I found a 6-pack of Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Extra last summer I knew this place was kind of special. You can also get the 18-pack of Bell's Two Hearted in cans, which you don't see everywhere. Even the food is a little surprising. Among all the chips and limited-selection cans of soup there's El Rey tortilla chips and Herdez salsas and stuffed grape leaves and little refrigerated carrot cakes and pizzas that aren't Tombstone and so on. A totally interesting item I saw were these little single-serving-size stuffed eggplants (or green peppers) with the ingredients listed in several languages including Turkish. I could see that there was even a small plastic fork included. I was intrigued but I couldn't find, well, instructions. Maybe another day. The aisles are narrow and they don't have hot food. But this is definitely a neighborhood gem. I should come more often. As a Riverwest dweller I'm on Locust St. enough.

That is only part of what I came to discover the BD really is. Since the first time I stopped in, I have been hooked on this little joint. The best way I can summarize what they offer is to say that they sell everything you could need for a beautiful summer day, whether you're grilling, boating or just hanging out. They have a decent selection of the standard beer, wine and liquor, but they also have some fun and quirky summer drinks to try as well. What I love even more than the drink selection is their little cold case full of deli items. They smoke their own pulled pork, which makes the best BBQ north of Kansas City. They also have these baked beans, man, I don't know what they do... So flippin good. Oh and get this: amazing steaks! They have fork-tender ribeye steaks, hand cut to order, for an insanely low price!!! They also have great brats from The Sausage Haus in Oconomowoc (represent the Dirty O!). Look, if you live in the Pewaukee area and don't know the magic of this small town, family-run mini grocery where you might find a 12-year-old exchanging your propane tank or swiping your credit card, then you need to get over to the Beer Depot and stop throwing your money at Pick N Save!

The store it self was unique because it's a liquor store but is has Bbq to go, pizzas, fresh rib eyes, cheeses, take and bake food, sandwiches, liquor, beer, wine, cigars etc. Unfortunately the Bbq is cooked in batches and sold out of the deli case cold that you have to reheat, not a big deal for me. I followed my rule that if you smell smoke when you walk in, I'm getting the full slab even though it's wrapped in foil and I couldn't see them. The full slab was very reasonable at $16.95 by the way. At first unwrapping I'm like dam nice bark and look how meaty the rack is, I hate that some places give you thin and bone racks so thank you for a nice rack. After heating up a third of the rack the bark came to life and was tasty, thick and sticky. The ribs were very meaty/tasty with that nice pink smoke ring but not very Smokey. The rib meat was moist and pulled clean off the bone. While there I bought a package of jalapeño meat sticks and a Czech beer from 1842, Pilsner Uequell imported it says. For a liquor store doing Bbq I'm giving them 4 stars because the ribs were good and they use meaty racks and at $16.95 for a full rack it's a good value. I would definitely get these take and bake Bbq ribs again and try other Bbq items from here.

This location is another solid grocery store. Because of its smaller size compared to other Sendik's locations, it doesn't have nearly the same selection. Some employees don't even greet you at the register. They look at you with a cold face, take your money, and watch you leave without saying a word. The last time I was here I about sarcastically told the big furry teddybear at the register to "Dont smile so much!" It was as if he was thinking of flowery meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles as he checked me out. Date of visit: November 10, 2025…read more I had never had need to come into this Sendik's before, between not getting out to The Corners all that often and not being a huge fan of this chain, finding it a bit overpriced. However, I was walking right by the upper level entrance and remembered that I needed a couple things so I did enter and was a bit impressed with the large variety of non-food items on this level. While none of them were things that I was there for, it was something I wanted to make a mental note of for the future. After heading downstairs, I did find what I was looking for though for the size of the store I was a bit surprised at the limited selection in both of the areas that I browsed (pretzels and baking needs), but they did have what I came for, so I can't complain too much! This isn't a store I would likely frequent often if I lived in the area, but it was definitely good in a pinch and since I was already walking by.

I stumbled across this place with my Yelp trick, if you are in an area away from home look for restaurants in the area because you will see options that don't show on the generic Yelp search from home and I do this while traveling also. Ok the low down on this hidden gem and I always say that you have to get off of Main Street and into the neighborhoods no matter how good or bad they are because that's where the nuggets are. This is a small neighborhood market/liquor store with a diverse hot food table that is like soul food crashed into Puerto Rican food with cat fish, fried chicken, chicken soup, bbq looking food and Puerto Rican classics. I had no service issues and everyone was friendly but some Yelpers might have a problem with the area but it's never stopped me. I was only there Puerto Rican items even though the fried chicken was very tempting. The P/R rice was a definite and I had to ask about other items like the potato ball and the dark tamale looking thing. The P/R rice was seasoned slightly compared to rest of my food and clumpy with beans in it. The potato ball was fu%king delicious and amazing seasoned nicely. It's like a crispy thin pastry shell that has a layer of mashed potatoes and a ground beef center, shepherds pie in a ball OMG I have to have again. The dark cigar looking thing is similar to a tamale with like a plant based texture/taste with shredded pork inside that was seasoned well and spiced nicely. OMG this is such a delicious gem in the back of a liquor store and well worth the drive so I can't wait to go back.

I was hungry and in the mood to get something to take home so there we were. I should say that their beer prices and selection are pretty good for the size and location of the store. They generally have Dogfish Head, Three Sheeps, and a few others that you don't always find everywhere even if they're not exactly rare. Prices are generally good for the other items in the store too. There's a lot of teas and some other dry goods. But we were there for the deli. It was definitely past peak hours and some items were sold out. But I got some (yellow?) rice and some beef stew. The seasoned rice was flavorful for being so deceptively simple. The beef stew was good too if a little salty. I would definitely come back more toward lunchtime. I've always liked the mom-and-pop "neighborhood" vibe about Pueblo too. If I lived closer I would be there more often.
