Gas to go
George T.

Sendik's you make 7-11 envious. I like quickie in and outie places like this but this one made me stay a little longer because of all the choices. (Not a bad thing) I got gas then I got beers and granola bars, Lays. Nice beer and wine selection along with the convenience of easy in and easy out. The staff are friendly. I complained under my breath about how tight the beers were stocked in the coolers but it makes sense as a retailer to fit as much into the coolers. The place looks like they maximized every square inch to give the best products available with a tiny footprint. Prices were a bit more higher but not outrageous. The prepared food section was clean and well stocked. For a quick meal. Parking can be scarce along with the traffic being shared with the gas station on the same corner. Very busy location and glad to see that they staffed up to speed up cashier lines. F:5 great selection. A:5 not your typical convenience store S:4 L:3 busy intersection tight parking lot. V: 3 a bit pricey 79/2014

Comprable gas prices on the corner of Brown deer road. Looks are deceiving -- this is not just a gas station...

So I pulled in here needing a little bit of gas to make sure I had plenty to get on the other side of Milwaukee and this is not just a gas station although there prices are comprable to the BP kitty corner. It also happens to be a full-service gourmet grocery complete with yuppie women with grocery baskets walking through. This place is the bomb! Pulte selection gluten-free snacks salmon full Deli huge salad bar. At a gas station. Amazing.

The food is OK the staff is unhappy, except for one woman and it's priced way too high. Just go to Aldi.

I like the steaks better at Fresh Market. Must be a different supplier. Everything else is great.

Given the price of groceries at other food stores in the Milwaukee area, I feel Sendik's gives me the best "bang for my buck"!

First time here. I was attending a Yelp Event…read more I was super impressed with the store. I checked and there are lots of stores in the Chicago area but this appears to be the first in the Milwaukee area. It's a interesting concept. Everything is frozen, including meats, fish, vegetables and meals. There is a large selection of interesting, or what might be considered exotic foods. You can get cuts of Elk, Bison, and Venison. They have organ meats and oxtails. They have a large selection of shrimp, and some that are so big that you might mistake them for lobster. For many of the items, there are plenty of choices. For example there is not just one salmon or shrimp selection. They have at least 12 different types to choose from. For different locations, different types, different, and different types of production standards (organic, non-gmo, pasture raised, etc) The store is well organized. All of the standing freezers or wall units are neatly packed and well labeled. Pricing is easy to discern. It's easy to shop and find what you are looking for. I found the help to all be helpful, and friendly. The staff at the registers were patient, and chatty. I bought a couple of items, and looking forward to cooking up the pasture raised chicken (breasts) and the Gulf Coast shrimp. This is not my side of town, so it's a little out of my way. However, they explained that for $29 you can get a year of free deliveries. That's a great deal!

I mean what kid wouldn't be excited for that? So many freshly-made options to choose from, and this one was a winner. Definitely a very sweet-treat, and worth splitting a handful of ways, but boy was it tasty! I also grabbed a latte for myself, which I always enjoy here. I will say however, I wish they had other milk options beyond oat and whole milk. I say this with no means to complain, but both of those milk are very 'heavy' so whenever something like skim or almond is available, that's a personal preference for sure. Love the community feel here, love the goodies, will return.

They had a variety of baked goods to choose from- we opted for the cinnamon roll and the seasonal danish. We also ordered a cappuccino and an americano. The baked goods we had were okay. We were disappointed they wouldn't heat up the cinnamon roll, the reason they gave us was because the frosting would run and be messy. So the cinnamon roll wasn't very enjoyable. I liked the filling on the seasonal danish but I asked for it heated up and it was served at room temp. The coffee was good- we both thought it was weak for our liking but it had good flavor. Also to note, this place is very family-friendly. When we were in, there were a lot of children and families enjoying the space. I would love to come back and try the monkey bread; they were sold out when we arrived this morning and we were told it's a top-seller.

Recently I was on the hunt for the holiday stollen delivery and decided to visit this location since I was out doing other errands by Bayshore. Advantage - they sell alcohol, which my closest location does not. Generally stores in neighborhoods with higher crime rates don't sell alcohol due to loss ratios. Disadvantage - the checker was really not friendly in any respect. Short with every person in line with not a hint of warmth to her. They didn't have enough lines open, which is typical, and I discovered one of my packages was open. She was not very helpful when I wanted to go grab a replacement, but nervous about it with the huge line waiting behind me. I think I'll skip the Winking Owl wine and stay in my own neighborhood, where at least the crew will smile back and help if you ask.

I needed a jalapeno and the only thing available was in a jar. It had a lot of ingredients I didn't recognize, so I had to pivot and go somewhere else for that. Saturdays are really busy, so you need to plan your visit. The meat section looked picked through and needed to be restocked. I needed some ground beef and found only one package left. I bought some prosciutto which looked legit - from Italy, minimal ingredients. It's funny how some things seem so high quality and other things not so much. Honestly, I don't know if I'll be back. I'm a fan of one stop shopping and this place isn't it. It's great for people on a budget, but you really have know what items you would buy and where to go for the other things on your grocery list.
