Santa Fe and Cubano are my two favorites. They are huge, so if you're not seriously hungry get the half and you'll be plenty full. They also have a wine bar in the back with a nice tap list of beers. There is a killer patio to hang out in, sip on your wine/beer as you savor your panini. You definitely feel like you're in Italy when you step into this market. Definitely one of the highlights when visiting the Bay View neighborhood.

Today I tried two new items: German potato salad made by the famous Pulaski Inn of Cudahy, and safe-to-eat-raw chocolate chunk cookie dough. The former was nearly as good as my grandma's, with sufficient bacon and a well-balanced dressing. I prefer it hot, so a quick trip through the microwave and I was happy. The cookie dough was excellent--big CHUNKS of dark chocolate, and a yummy base sans eggs, making it safe for many.

I will consider this place in the future for their prepared items and even for some of their daily lunch options (to go, of course, there really isn't seating inside). I also will consider their platter items, they're very reasonably priced. My service was excellent. The deli looked amazing with meats that I have never seen before. I started with what looked like meat sticks because I'm a sucker for meat sticks. Next was homemade cheese and potato pierogis. On to the meat counter and I would sample 4-5 of 1/8 of a pound deli meats. While my first meat choice was being sliced an older blond woman would intervene with a nasty attitude and said no 1/8 of a pound because the minimum on deli meats is 3/4 of a pound and there is signs stating that I didn't notice ? Well I don't need 5 pounds of deli meat for sampling. Then I get what are we supposed with the meat we already sliced and I said I will buy it and was only .520 of a pound which was not their minimum quantity that they stated, I would have spent about $10 more in the deli if they didn't have a ridiculously unusual policy. I have been ordering deli meat most of my life and this is the first time I had to order a minimum quantity, am I in the twilight zone ??. The fact that older blond was so rigid about a minimum quantity and not willing to sell me deli meats that I requested is absolutely a giant fail at customer service. O W deli had no problem doing that for me a couple weeks ago and what a contrast between the two polish Deli store.

It's like a crispy thin pastry shell that has a layer of mashed potatoes and a ground beef center, shepherds pie in a ball OMG I have to have again. The dark cigar looking thing is similar to a tamale with like a plant based texture/taste with shredded pork inside that was seasoned well and spiced nicely. OMG this is such a delicious gem in the back of a liquor store and well worth the drive so I can't wait to go back.

They generally have Dogfish Head, Three Sheeps, and a few others that you don't always find everywhere even if they're not exactly rare. Prices are generally good for the other items in the store too. There's a lot of teas and some other dry goods. But we were there for the deli. It was definitely past peak hours and some items were sold out. But I got some (yellow?) rice and some beef stew. The seasoned rice was flavorful for being so deceptively simple. The beef stew was good too if a little salty. I would definitely come back more toward lunchtime. I've always liked the mom-and-pop "neighborhood" vibe about Pueblo too. If I lived closer I would be there more often.

If you are single and not Asian, and think you're okay with American supermarket instant ramen, you need to rethink cheap eats and try some instant noodle soup from here. A few coins more will get you much tastier instant noodle soups, especially the ones without good English translation on the packages. Add some of the fresh vegetables and tofu or bean sprouts you get here and you can make a cheap meal nutritious and well balances. I guess technically bean sprouts are vegetables but noodle soups require more than two added ingredients I think.
