We found video boxes on display, shelves of candy galore and a fridge with sodas, not a commercial fridge but one like we'd have in our homes. I felt like I went back in time. After seeing the name, Country Maid on a tub of potato salad I did some searching and realized I've probably driven by over a dozen times. Online they showcase a variety of prepared salads and it said they sell sandwiches at their factory store, so I went to check it out. Inside they have several fridges with prepared salads some sweet and mostly savory in variety of sizes. It appears that they have a sandwich special once a day during certain hours. I end up purchasing a variety of salads to try and the friendly clerk offered me several forks and I had a potato taste test in the car which was a first! The woman who helped me was very friendly and patient. They offer platters and larger salad portions for special events if you call ahead. A few customers trickled I while I was there and seemed to be regulars from our small talk. One said the tuna salad was good and couldn't beat the price. My favorite potato salad was the grandmas and I loved the Greek pasta salad. Definitely keep in mind for your next gathering!

When they arrived they were very poorly packed for such a fragile candy. One of the bags had broken open and there was fairy food dust all over the inside of the box. When I opened the more expensive two tins which I had hoped to give as Christmas gifts (they picture them as beautiful intact candies on their website) they were shattered into small bits and only good for maybe sprinkling on ice cream or putting into cookie dough. What a waste of money, I had such high hopes.
