Must try: Lobster Roll!…read more Why: Loved the butter toasted brioche bun loaded with Lobster! Bun has slightly crispy exterior and was buttery goodness. Fried and coleslaw were also really good. Tons of fries that were also slightly crispy - just how I like it. I ate outside since the weather was nice and enjoyed my meal while people watching. Notes: The workers were friendly and helpful. They have indoor table seating as well as oyster bar area. Many tables outside of market too. This was my first meal during my visit to Milwaukee and what a delicious way to start!

My last visit here, I was coming in for lunch. It was a beautiful Friday and it was popping, but I was able to get a table quickly. I am going to preface this by saying my lunch was delicious. It just wasn't what I ordered. That was on the waitress and not the restaurant. She was friendly, but doesn't write things down, and she is not as good at that as she thinks. I ordered a blackened salmon sandwich with fries instead of chips. She dropped it off and I didn't see her again until we were finished with lunch, so I ate it. At first I thought it might have been the mahi mahi, but upon receiving the receipt, I saw it was swordfish. That isn't on the kitchen, it was rang in that way. Still very tasty and cooked perfectly. The prices are good and they have an excellent selection. I saw other waitstaff writing things down, my recommendation would be that everyone do so. Though you never know, you may end up with something you wouldn't have ordered but would eat again.

Seems like a quintessential Wisconsin place to be, a cheese bar paired with your favorite wine or…read morecocktail. This place is pretty neat! It'll turn you into a cheese connoisseur if you're not already one. I fell in love with Gouda cheese as soon as I took a bite. We tried a classic cheese flight board and red wine only flight to pair with the different types of cheese. They made it into a gluten free spread so we had four types of cheese in lieu of the seasoned dried meat and gluten free crackers. The place is inviting, has nice decorations, great for going on a date or a casual catch up with your bestie. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They knew so much about wine and cheese, I would want a whole Documentary on cheese. You can also purchase cheese and other goodies to go! Come on Thursdays, they have a discount on cheese boards!

Date of visit: March 28, 2026…read more This was our second stop on a birthday date night and was a lovely little find! While the menu is limited and not cheap, staff were very friendly and walked us through everything before we selected a couple of things to try. Pretty much all of the cheeses and accoutrements were fantastic! One of the cheese on our plate was the espresso version of Bellavitano, which happens to be one of my favorites, so that was a nice little bonus for me. In addition to the board, we also went with the ricotta bites, which featured one sweet and one savory option, both of which we also really liked. The shop is cozy and if this was somewhere that I lived walking distance from, I could totally see myself coming here fairly regularly and having a little cheese and ambiance. During our time there we saw both couples on dates and old friends gathering for a drink and a nosh, all of which I found just wonderful. Really the only thing keeping this from a five star review was that the side items, such as the crackers were not plentiful enough for the cheese. I know that ratio can be hard to nail but it was not quite on the mark here, unfortunately. However, that would not be enough to prevent me from returning!

I recently stopped by Pete's Fruit Market for the first time after hearing about it. As soon as I…read morewalked in, I saw buckets of vegetables: peppers, tomatoes, squash, you name it. Most buckets seemed to be about 6-8 inches in diameter and prices ranged from $1 to $5. I only wish they offer smaller buckets instead of such a big bucket. It is hard to buy in bulk with smaller household and I don't like to freeze produce. I was curious about the quality of the produce, but I wasn't too impressed. For example, the apricots looked a little banged up--kind of like the "misfit" produce I've seen before. There was upbeat Mexican music playing, which gave the place a fun vibe, and the store itself isn't that big. A security guard was stationed outside. They had yellow-flesh watermelon at $0.99/lb, and giant seeded watermelons for $16 each--which felt pricey, especially since I had just come from Costco where I got a decent-sized watermelon for $6 (though admittedly smaller than the ones at Pete's). I also noticed mangoes going for $2 each, which again felt steep. I had been hoping to find some Mexican pastries, but nothing really stood out, and there weren't any prepared foods available. However, I saw they got a catering menu which I thought it might be good to have a food court selling those items. I was expecting something more like La Michoacana or Fiesta stores in Texas, but this wasn't it. In the end, I just picked up a few Mexican candies like Pulparindo and called it a day. I was a bit disappointed with the fruit selection, especially the lack of tropical options. On the plus side, they have a fairly large, gated parking lot, which is convenient. I'm glad I visited, but not sure I'll be rushing back anytime soon.
