More cramped and tight than other Sendiks, but like all Sendiks very high quality very overpriced groceries in too much plastic. They only have very good bread, when I was last here the least expensive loaf was $11, for a Breadsmith loaf which was cheaper and fresher at Breadsmith nearby. All cashiers are human (good) but just barely as they are all jaded disaffected youth. You don't have much choice around here and it is better than Whole Foods.

Any cashier who laughs at my jokes can take my money. The quote was about my friend who wore some chunky brown sandals. "Jesus on my feet, Jesus on my mind." He snorted mid-scan. You don't get that everyday. My visitation to this market stemmed from an illegal street crossing to acquire brekky. Three meat burritos were the special of the day, but Sendik calls it meatlovers. Potatoes potatoes, tomatoes tomatoes. A wee bit small for my appetite, but a tasty cheesy meaty bundle of breakfast all things considered. These workers received and leaned into banter, fostering a friendly and homey feel. I can't recognize these things, but via a compatriot of patronage the woman behind the counter had "good edges." Cheers to specific compliments, tell people nice things! The market portion of this spot seemed well-priced, yet the grocer section was a little step up from the usual ALDI run. However, you can't buy genitalia shaped pasta (see picture) at your usual retailer! I'd come back here again, but would need to give a lunch sando and dinner recipe a spin before I can defend this place with my life. Milwaukee, you slowly win my heart with moments like these. Lil cutie!

I was spoiled when I lived on the east side- Sendiks is the standard that I have with any new grocery I go to. None hold up.

My hunger was calling around noon so I decided to treat myself to a Nehring's Sendiks on Downer hot sandwich from the deli.

Date of visit: December 14, 2025…read more I haven't been in this location in years, as this just isn't a part of town that I get to all that much but I was down the street at Colectivo with some friends and needed a couple items, so it made sense to pop down here to snag them. I either forgot or didn't realize that all of the traditional "grocery" items--those things you would find in the middle of the store at most grocers--are actually upstairs, with the lower level all of the more specialty items, though it was nice to walk through these other areas and fully appreciate that this is a bit of an upscale store; a true Metro Market as opposed to the one near me in Glendale that is a Pick N Save with a new sign. Once I headed upstairs I was able to find all of the things that I needed and even perused the Clearance section. This level was definitely in rougher shape than the fancy lower level, though it was also busier so that makes sense though I was expecting a bit more given that this is supposed to be a higher caliber of store. All in all, it gets the job done, but not really something that I would go out of my way to return to in the future.

I've been going to this store for the last 4 years and have been so impressed with the changes and…read moreimprovements that have been made. The improvement in both customer service and merchandising has been great. Excellent service at the butcher counter, the pharmacy and at check out. And the cheese "shop" is great, plus a surprisingly good wine shop for a grocer - the small "global" shelf is especially good. I feel lucky to have this Metro Market as our every day shopping spot.

After a couple of visits, Hidden Kitchen has landed on my list of favorite food trucks!…read more You may have seen Hidden Kitchen mentioned or listed at several physical locations because they sell pizzas out of MobCraft Brewery, offer catering, work from their food truck at various places around town, and recently set up a location with a commercial kitchen at the Eleven25 at the Pabst Food Hall at 1125 N. 9th. Street in Milwaukee. The Eleven25 location primarily sells hot or take-n-bake pizzas and fresh sandwiches. I think you'll currently get a better idea of their cooking skills from the food truck. The menu offers a handful of items, with most being seafood dishes, but there non-seafood options, as well as desserts. I enjoyed their lobster roll at the NEWaukee Night Market last summer, and recently LOVED their lamb gyro and crab cakes! They use actual lamb shoulder for the gyro instead of the strips of processed meat you typically get at a gyro joint. The lamb is tender and perfectly seasoned! The crab cakes are made with claw meat and they were perfectly crisp and delicious! I capped off the most recent meal with a slice of their key lime pie, and it exceeded my expectations. The pie crust is a bit fragile on the side, so it may detach from the pie filling when you get close to it, but the flavor and texture are right on! Now, I have their Mahi Mahi tacos and Reuben on my to-do list, based on the rave reviews I've seen on social media, but the menu changes often, so I hope I can keep up!

So that means I get to eat some of their amazing breakfast and lunch menu items when I'm at work! The breakfast items I've tried were the ham, egg and Swiss cheese breakfast sandwich and the bagel, lox and cream cheese breakfast sandwich. My favorite hands down is the bagel and lox. It was delightful packed with fresh cucumber, tomato, onion, capers, lox and cream cheese all on a griddle toasted bagel. For lunch I've had the pleasure of trying the Reuben, blackened salmon sandwich, Cubano and chicken gyro. All very very tasty and well made with great quality meats and fish. My favorites so far are the blackened salmon sandwich and the chicken gyro! These are must tries menu items!!! I highly recommend the food at this truck! I can't wait to try more menu items. I hear the mahi-mahi tacos are his specialty!

Menus are hanging on the wall... so you'll see some people standing gin the middle of the room looking at the wall. It's a bad setup, considering how crowded it gets in here. A QR code on the table with an online menu might be a better option? Or come in to yelp and check out their menu! I've added pictures below. Bartenders were superb and the food was quite amazing. Crispy Brussel Sprouts: If you hate Brussel sprouts, skip it, but if you want to give it a chance, I'd say this is the place to do it. 1/2 LB Burger is actually cheaper than the Brussel sprouts. They complement each other quite well. It can get quite loud inside, so not your romantic spot (go down the street to Buttermint for that), but if you're looking for a fun, loud, delicious spot, this is it. UPDATE 3/2024 The steak salad is absolutely gorgeous to look at and delicious to the tastebuds. Dressing is probably not keto friendly, but I love it so much!! Maybe try to ask for the dressing on the side next time.. UPDATE - 6/2025 - no longer on the menu SAD. Steak Sandwich is flavorful according to Hany.

Date of visit: July 28, 2025…read more I stopped in here as I am leading an effort to find local vendors that we can order from as part of a holiday gift effort for some of our customers. I perused the store and selected brittle, taffy, and chocolates as part of a taste testing for the whole team to determine which items were the best to consider as gifts for our customers. Staff was friendly and accomodating, and even offered me a sample after I completed my purchase. Oddly, despite spending about $70 and explaining what I was doing with my purchases, I didn't get a receipt. I dropped an email to the store and received a quick reply and was provided with a picture of the receipt that was quite small and blurry, though thankfully our AP department didn't question it too much and I still got reimbursed for the purchase! And if you were wondering, the taffy was surprisingly good, but wasn't labeled on the package in terms of what flavors were in each bag, so that was a big turn off for our taste testers. The chocolates were a big hit and will be a finalist for our customer gifts!

I read about Burke moving in to this Whitefish Bay location, so I wanted to give them a try. I really wanted to give them the highest rating, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Super cute shop. Has a nice old time feel to it. Walking in to the place, you find a large selection of many different confections. The "factory" is at their other location downtown Milwaukee. Got greeted by two friendly staff members. Very helpful at explaining the different items and offered to allow me to sample (I did have one piece of the peanut butter crunch). You can either get individual items from the case, or there are pre-packed items on the other walls. I got a mix of different items. Ones that I have found can be a big tricky to make. Fairy Food, Marshmallow, and Caramel. And to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Summer can be a hard to time to make/keep sponge candy (fairy food), and some places don't even make it this time of year because the humidity can make it sticky. Marshmallow has a short shelf life and can get tough. This was exactly my experience with these two items. The chocolate itself was very good. And the presentation was also very impressive wit the other items. They did wrap up everything in attractive cellophane bags with ribbon, and placed in a gift bag with a custom ribbon. Perfect for gift giving. So overall a good (but not great experience). I would stop back again, but keep away from some of the humidity sensitive items.

There are tables and chairs, but it's tight and when it got busy with people coming to pick up their lunch, would feel weird sitting down to eat. As it was, we just waited to pick up our food, like everyone else. Didn't see a single person actually eating inside, though we saw a LOT of people coming to pick up lunch. Previous review stands (3/25/2022) This is another happy review. I'm happy to report that the burgers have improved significantly since my last review 4 years ago. Korean BBQThey toned down on the shredded cabbage and the sauce in the korean bbq burger. Everything balanced out much better than what I remember, and I could actually taste the kimchi inside this time. The meat was cooked to a nice medium, and travelled well in our to-go order. Soft Shell CrabThey put two whole deep fried soft shell crabs in one burger. Topped off with a lot of arugula, bacon and tomatoes. It was good, but not quite as balanced out as the Korean BBQ burger. I'm not quite sure what it is... Lacking some sauce?Overall, the place had some great burgers and I would definitely go back more often that I have recently. But there's a little bit missing still to give it a whopping 5 star review. Plus the buns were really bready... a little less dough would have been nice. And on the downside... the fries weren't awesome. They were ok. But felt more like baked fries than deep fried. In any case, I love improvements and having great joints in my neighborhood.
