Aldi in Glendale provides a decent and somewhat rewarding shopping experience. The upsides are the prices and the store layout. Its easy to find what you're looking for - as long as they have it in stock. The downside is the required speed at which the cashier is expected to scan your items. They are expected to scan up to 1200 items per hour or up to 50 items per minute. Aldi uses a performance metric which specifically rates cashiers efficiency - specifically the speed at which one transaction concludes and the next one commences. So why, in my opinion, is this considered a downside? It's because when I shop at Aldi's, I carry my own bag and do not use a cart. At checkout, the cashier will not place my purchased items in my opened bag as they are being scanned - placing them instead in the cart which speeds the process up but is inconvenient because I then have to remove them from the cart and put them into the opened bag - which is already IN the cart - all while the person behind me has to wait until the cart has been emptied so they can use it. Will this stop me from shopping at Aldi's? Certainly not. It's a minor inconvenience. The positives vastly outweigh the negatives. Something else worth mentioning - their fruit quality is hit-or-miss. Sometimes its fabulous and sometimes its not, especially the pre-bagged produce. Here's the thing I'll vouch for Aldi all day long. Love it, love the prices, love their standards, love their random isle of specials and home goodies. But hot dang this location needs more staffing. It's our usual location, so we're weekly visitors, and everytime we're there the line for checkout is sprawling down the isles. It feels rare more than one register is open. But staff themselves? Soo nice, just nowhere near enough of them. Consider this my plea. As for the store itself, this one is up to date, always very well-kept, and fully stocked! read more

The prices are competitive. They have nice produce and wine selections. You can get cash back when you use a credit or debit card. There is ample parking. (We also like Trader Joe's but Aldi has some nice finds.) read more

I am a huge Aldi fan, going way back. I have been a loyal customer of them in multiple states and have many old favorites and traditional must buys. Recently I was on the hunt for the holiday stollen delivery and decided to visit this location since I was out doing other errands by Bayshore. Advantage - they sell alcohol, which my closest location does not. Generally stores in neighborhoods with higher crime rates don't sell alcohol due to loss ratios. Disadvantage - the checker was really not friendly in any respect. Short with every person in line with not a hint of warmth to her. They didn't have enough lines open, which is typical, and I discovered one of my packages was open. She was not very helpful when I wanted to go grab a replacement, but nervous about it with the huge line waiting behind me. I think I'll skip the Winking Owl wine and stay in my own neighborhood, where at least the crew will smile back and help if you ask. read more

I must be missing something because I am not in love with Aldi. I was impressed with the fresh produce, but there were limited options. I needed a jalapeno and the only thing available was in a jar. It had a lot of ingredients I didn't recognize, so I had to pivot and go somewhere else for that. Saturdays are really busy, so you need to plan your visit. The meat section looked picked through and needed to be restocked. I needed some ground beef and found only one package left. I bought some prosciutto which looked legit - from Italy, minimal ingredients. It's funny how some things seem so high quality and other things not so much. Honestly, I don't know if I'll be back. I'm a fan of one stop shopping and this place isn't it. It's great for people on a budget, but you really have know what items you would buy and where to go for the other things on your grocery list. read more

This Aldi was so clean!! This was my first time at Aldi. I wasn't sure what to expect! There are some name brands but they mostly carry their own stuff. I got some crackers I thought were meh but they have a lot of fun, unique items that I did quite enjoy! Everyone keeps telling me how much cheaper Aldi is compared to other stores. I didn't necessarily think it was that much cheaper if I'm being honest. But I still enjoyed going and I definitely will return. read more

This location is always clean and well stocked- including the "everything" aisle! I'm pretty sure it has another name but I can't remember it. With that being said, their produce is fresh and the staff is always nice. There is always plenty of parking and people do tend to put their carts back. Another big plus (or minus) is that they have neighbors that are helpful in caffeinating you before you shop! read more

I really enjoyed coming to this local grocery store it's always well stocked and the fruits and veggies are always fresh. This is one of my favorite grocery stores to shop it's always nice and clean and well organized. The staff is always present to assist you if needed. The staff are knowledgeable of the items that they have in stock. I also appreciate all the items are priced clearly and visible. They also have seasonal items at great prices and it's good quality products. I would like to say Thanks!! To All of the staff who makes my shopping experience pleasant. Updating my review to 5 stars. I came back, armed with a shiny quarter and bags. Turns out, I had not enough of my own bags. AMAZING produce deals. Bagels, pasta, beans, wow. Saved a bundle, as my children (who are half locust at near teen years and eat like nine meals a day each) cost an arm and a leg to feed. Generic toaster pastries - a steal! I will be back, again, with more bags this time. The store was well stocked, super duper clean, very fresh and ample selection of produce. A few quick prep meals, too. Original review (4 stars): New to the area - am I the only one who didn't know you need coins to get a basket here? FYI - if you want a cart, you need a quarter. Also, no grocery bags, you have to bring your own. Just me, ok. Sorry! I should have read the Yelp reviews first! OK, we just needed a few things, so our list got smaller - to just what can me and a toddler carry? The store was spotlessly clean. Great prices and the produce looked fresh with a great variety in that department, and a somewhat limited selection in other areas. I was looking for dried red lentils - they had a few dried beans and some canned, but not what I was looking for. I wanted frozen, sliced carrots for a stew, also a no go. They did have fresh, and canned. Super great deals on lots of boxed/canned, and prepared/frozen foods. Don't be like me, come prepared, and it looks like you can save a bundle. read more

I've never been crazy about Aldi, from the chintzy shopping cart game to the lack of bags and limited options for payment. This is a giant corporation, why would we reward such stinginess? Also not crazy about the limited selection--this isn't the kind of store that you can generally do all of your shopping for your household's grocery needs. I try to take into consideration the above-average pay for their employees, but if they are paid so well, why aren't they ever friendly? Employees at this store don't really acknowledge you, even at the checkout. While I am not crazy about the Pick N Save next door either, at least I can use Self-Checkout there and not have to get annoyed at the lack of appreciation for spending my money at the store. read more

While an Aldi's is an Aldi's, this is clearly one of the best ones. Kept very clean and well stocked. And probably the most COVID-aware Aldi I've been to. It helps that the store is still relatively new, but even after about six months open, they've kept up the cleanliness and care. Keep up the good work! read more
