Then, we had to grab a few other things in the store so walked through pretty quickly with a targeted attack. It's easy to get distracted here as they just pack so much in to every aisle. Their prices are pretty comparable to other grocery stores but they do have some good sales. The vibe is a little chaotic, similar to a Costco sometimes. That being said, they have a phenomenal selection of cheese with local and commercial offerings. We would come back but perhaps during off hours so as to not have to navigate a chaotic parking lot.

The clerks at the other lanes, being in a hurry of course, must just toss everything willy-nilly into a bag (and they'd do exactly the same, even if using the boxes (yes, reusable BOXES) that I bring, and my reusable double paper bags with handles. I pack my stuff a certain way for the ride back home -- so, thanks but no thanks to foregoing the self-check. But yeah, Stan D., nearly always a technical problem at the POS checkout. For both of our last two visits, 2 of 3 self-checks OUT OF ORDER . . . with no one, the entire time, coming around to make any effort, of any kind, to get them up and running. As a bonus -- During my LONG time spend in what should be a fast process (with food thawing the entire time), there's the same ongoing and repeated problem in the lane that WAS "working": frequent yawps of "Please place item on the belt", after it had, of course, already been scanned correctly and, um, DUH, correctly placed onto the belt. Retrieve it from the big pile of done stuff, bring it back, put it onto the belt (AGAIN), swear, hold mock pistol against your temple, pull the mock trigger. The latest 20-minute odyssey, behind just ONE other person, took that long precisely for that reason. (Without those asinine and infuriating glitches, my scanning and paying would be among the fastest in history.) This sh*t no longer feels like a reasonable price to pay, in exchange for what is still, in my view, an excellent selection and good prices (compared to the joke known as Pick 'n Save, and the lovely but costly Sendik's).

When I asked about the gizzards, no one seemed to know whether they carried them. Each day of the week is a different theme which can be found on their website and is sold by the pound. They offer lots of great well known brands and products such as fresh cheese curds (yes!) and local brands. There's an area for home goods near the front of the store although I haven't checked it out yet, but it appears to be seasonal merchandise and decorative things. They have a good selection of alcohol and I always find great deals on wine. Staff is always friendly and the self checkouts are located near the service desk so someone is always there to assist if needed! I highly recommend this location.

I thought all Pick N Save stores had a lottery vending machine, imagine my surprise when I didn't see one and the line four customers deep at the Customer Service desk! The store looked bright and inviting from the outside, but inside was a bit of a mixed bag. Seems like they are trying to convey a Sendik's-level with the exterior, but haven't quite stuck the landing in terms of the actual store itself, with a cramped Customer Service area and many shelves looking sad and empty. The clearance aisle was well-organized, even if it was lacking in anything I needed. I have definitely seen worse but there's not really a need to ever come back here, either.

The Good: I've been looking for a particular piece of photographic equipment, and it turned out that Walmart had the device online and the best price I could find anywhere. It is not stocked instore, so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. The online ordering system is easy to use and was completed very quickly. The Bad: I could choose between pickup at a store, scheduled today, Friday. I could opt for home delivery, but that would be next Monday, over the weekend, eight days total time. The bad? I ordered the piece on Sunday, the delivery was promised to the store in five days. Compare that to a similar order I placed at the same time, with a superstore in New York. It arrived at my home on Wednesday, only three days. Walmart's time frame was frustrating, but I suppose that's part of the good price. The Amazing: I walked into Walmart and walked up to a tall, orange tower that almost reaches the ceiling. (I happen to know its nickname, but since it's a copyrighted name, I'll just call it Fred.) Fred has a smoked glass cover that slightly obscures a monitor screen. There is no one around. As you approach Fred, er, the tower, the smoked glass panel opens up and the screen welcomes you to Walmart. If you were sent a QR Code to your phone that identifies your order, Fred will scan it. I didn't have a Qr code but did have a confirmation number. Fred popped up a keyboard and I typed in my order code. After Fred had my code, I could hear some machinery running and in seconds, a light came on behind another smoked glass door. Voila! There was my package! The smoked glass door popped open and my order slid forward for me to take it. Overall rating: Price: Five stars. Ease of ordering online: Five stars. Time to delivery: Three stars. Ease of pickup: Five stars. Tower: Pretty cool!

Did not ring up as the sale…read more -My husband went and took a photo and asked the meijer manager to walk back with us. -She said it doesn't matter what the discount is they cannot honor it as the liquor manager was not there and is not frequently available. -Her claim was "we are unable to honor the marked price as it is against the law--to price adjust unless the liquor manager was on site". This is a clear case of false advertising. -Gave back the craft beer. We would rather pay full price somewhere else. Meijer leadership needs to look up who was working today as a manager, and align their practice with laws. Unfortunate experience. We want to warn others so they don't go through the same issue. Just buy alcohol elsewhere.
