While visiting today I found samples of parmesan in a balsamic vinegar that was quite tasty. My main goal was to secure some bakery items for a party and while the selection looked a bit picked over, I had to remind myself that it was after 2 in the afternoon and the store had been open for quite a while at that point. After procuring a couple packs of loaf cake, we headed to the front though I unfortunately did not locate my favorite part of Metro Market: The Clearance Aisle! Hopefully I will find it next time. Sadly, despite the store being busy and bustling, only one grouping of self checkouts was open, which seemed short-sighted yet on brand for Metro Market.

And as far as rain check, the only rain check I could get with the strawberries. So three out of the six items I went shopping for or out of stock.. why shop at the store. We always tend to go to Sussex because they seem to have the items in stock but we decided to stop in here cause it was on our way home.. never do that again. My neighbor had the same issue. Grabbed some meats for the week; all were delicious. Filets, chicken and pork chops were all great. The beef jerky was supreme! We liked it so much we went back the next day to grab some more things. It was busy, with people coming in for holiday shopping. It took a while before someone noticed me and asked if I needed help. When I asked about the gizzards, no one seemed to know whether they carried them. There were a couple of trips to the back, along with checks of the packaged items and frozen section, but nothing turned up. Too bad. Not a successful first visit. FYI. I ended up going to Ray's Butcher on Loomis, and they had plenty of one pound containers of gizzards.

Each day of the week is a different theme which can be found on their website and is sold by the pound. They offer lots of great well known brands and products such as fresh cheese curds (yes!) and local brands. There's an area for home goods near the front of the store although I haven't checked it out yet, but it appears to be seasonal merchandise and decorative things. They have a good selection of alcohol and I always find great deals on wine. Staff is always friendly and the self checkouts are located near the service desk so someone is always there to assist if needed! I highly recommend this location.

I thought all Pick N Save stores had a lottery vending machine, imagine my surprise when I didn't see one and the line four customers deep at the Customer Service desk! The store looked bright and inviting from the outside, but inside was a bit of a mixed bag. Seems like they are trying to convey a Sendik's-level with the exterior, but haven't quite stuck the landing in terms of the actual store itself, with a cramped Customer Service area and many shelves looking sad and empty. The clearance aisle was well-organized, even if it was lacking in anything I needed. I have definitely seen worse but there's not really a need to ever come back here, either.

The Good: I've been looking for a particular piece of photographic equipment, and it turned out that Walmart had the device online and the best price I could find anywhere. It is not stocked instore, so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. The online ordering system is easy to use and was completed very quickly. The Bad: I could choose between pickup at a store, scheduled today, Friday. I could opt for home delivery, but that would be next Monday, over the weekend, eight days total time. The bad? I ordered the piece on Sunday, the delivery was promised to the store in five days. Compare that to a similar order I placed at the same time, with a superstore in New York. It arrived at my home on Wednesday, only three days. Walmart's time frame was frustrating, but I suppose that's part of the good price. The Amazing: I walked into Walmart and walked up to a tall, orange tower that almost reaches the ceiling. (I happen to know its nickname, but since it's a copyrighted name, I'll just call it Fred.) Fred has a smoked glass cover that slightly obscures a monitor screen. There is no one around. As you approach Fred, er, the tower, the smoked glass panel opens up and the screen welcomes you to Walmart. If you were sent a QR Code to your phone that identifies your order, Fred will scan it. I didn't have a Qr code but did have a confirmation number. Fred popped up a keyboard and I typed in my order code. After Fred had my code, I could hear some machinery running and in seconds, a light came on behind another smoked glass door. Voila! There was my package! The smoked glass door popped open and my order slid forward for me to take it. Overall rating: Price: Five stars. Ease of ordering online: Five stars. Time to delivery: Three stars. Did not ring up as the sale…read more -My husband went and took a photo and asked the meijer manager to walk back with us. -She said it doesn't matter what the discount is they cannot honor it as the liquor manager was not there and is not frequently available. -Her claim was "we are unable to honor the marked price as it is against the law--to price adjust unless the liquor manager was on site". This is a clear case of false advertising. -Gave back the craft beer. We would rather pay full price somewhere else. Meijer leadership needs to look up who was working today as a manager, and align their practice with laws. Unfortunate experience. We want to warn others so they don't go through the same issue. Just buy alcohol elsewhere.
