As mentioned previously, there are some employees with attitude; some being downright rude. Anna in deli comes to mind. Recently stopped by to pick up broasted chicken. Anna told me it wasn't ready and to come back in 5 minutes. When I came back, she stared at me for a few seconds, turned, and walked away. She then proceeded to take care of another customer. I stood there for a while before another employee asked if I was being helped. I mentioned what had happened, and the girl simply rolled her eyes. I understand that everyone can have a bad day from time to time, but a week later, I stopped at the deli again for some coleslaw. While standing directly in front of her, she again looked past me like I wasn't there and took an order from a young guy standing behind me. Why this woman has some kind of issue with me personally, I have no idea but, her behavior is beyond insulting, rude, and passive-aggressive. How someone can be employed in customer service and act like this indicates a systemic problem with management and how their employees perform their responsibilities. Maybe comments like mine will rectify a significant problem within a decent store and franchise.

Hey, this store is our main go-to for most groceries, because of its large selection and good prices. However, the Menomonee Falls location has gone downhill in several respects. (I've submitted these same comments on the contact page of the Woodman's website, and I encourage others to do the same.) 1 This is now an ongoing problem at the Menomonee Falls location: One or more of the three (yes, only 3!) self-checkout lanes is always out of commission -- sometimes, all 3 -- with no staff available to get them up and running. It's not great to pay a lot of money for food that's thawing while we stand in a long line. 2. My wife and I are not tech-incapable or tech-ignorant, but please, Woodman's: Not all of us choose to live our lives constantly clutching a black plastic rectangle (what we call a smart aleck phone), and so . . . NO. No thanks. Even if we chose to own one, we wouldn't have it with us while we shop. (A handwritten shopping list, on recycled paper, works just fine.) And so, NO -- we're not going to use the Woodman's app to find stuff in the store. GUYS, BRING BACK THE PAPER STORE DIRECTORIES. At least at the end of a few of the aisles! 3. Self-check allows us to control the pace of the process, including packing our stuff. . . but, WHOA! What's this? Yet another reason to do a lot less shopping at that store? No more cash back at the self checkouts! Again, sorry, no thanks; we will not use any other method of checking out, just to get cash back. (Assuming you still even offer cash back in the staffed lanes.) Of course, one likes to see lanes ACTUALLY UP AND RUNNING. (See #1 above.)

While visiting today I found samples of parmesan in a balsamic vinegar that was quite tasty. My main goal was to secure some bakery items for a party and while the selection looked a bit picked over, I had to remind myself that it was after 2 in the afternoon and the store had been open for quite a while at that point. After procuring a couple packs of loaf cake, we headed to the front though I unfortunately did not locate my favorite part of Metro Market: The Clearance Aisle! Hopefully I will find it next time. Sadly, despite the store being busy and bustling, only one grouping of self checkouts was open, which seemed short-sighted yet on brand for Metro Market.

In an age of self checkout, they have stayed the course by having not only humans behind the register but also bagging your groceries. They offer an incredible selection of cheeses and their meat department seems to along half the back of the store. The recent remodel of this area is also coming along nicely. There are always delays, it takes them HOURS to shop like 10 items. They have a phone number listed that you are supposed to call when you arrive, except no one answers that phone number. The worst part is, they are completely unapologetic for how horrible their service is. This department has one job: to receive orders, shop those orders, and have them ready when you arrive. They are unable to accomplish this task. I have lived all over the country, and I have never encountered such inept, oblivious, and unmotivated Walmart employees. Looks like it is back to Aldi for low price groceries. At least their employees greet you with a smile and know what they are doing. Ridiculous. Nilla Wafer Persian: For a grocery store bakery, I've been pretty impressed with the doughnuts at…read moremy local Meijer (although the selection is sadly wildly inconsistent). A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them featuring Nilla wafers. The surface of this pastry contains a lake of vanilla pudding with sweet cream cheese frosting bordering it like a beach. Three mini-Nilla wafers can be found within the pudding as the finishing touches. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. At first, I wasn't digging the texture of the pudding as I'm used to the whole thing being frosting, but it grew on me with each bite. In the summer there are free workout classes and yesterday we visited for the tree lighting that also features a drone show and appearances from Santa and Frozen's Elsa and Anna. My go to spots for shopping here are Madewell, Anthropologie, and Altar'd State. The LL Bean is also huge. I'm also not all that excited about the store and restaurant offerings given the hassle. It does look like they try to use the main space for movies, live streaming games, family nights, etc but we've never tried any of those out. There has been turnover of some stores/restaurants though so always something different to check out. I will say that it's nice to have free parking compared to some other similar mall concepts like this. All in all, good but not great.
