However, the few times I have been forced to ask for help with something while shopping at this Meijer, I've invariably been met with palpable disdain from managers and employees at having to be bothered by a customer. It's really quite alarming how consistent it's been, despite the fact that I am a polite person who remembers to preface with "please" and end with "thank you". On top of that, if you see something on sale, you MUST take a picture of the shelf label, because it will almost never scan at that price. $2 item that says buy one get one free? Nope, they're going to scan at $4.99 each. They also go for weeks without restocking basic items. Aside from these issues, it would be a great store, but it suffers due to the employees' resentment. If it's because they're not paid enough, I sympathize, as everyone in retail deserves more than what they're paid, but at the same time, you know the amount when you take the job.

You have multiple people overseeing self checkout that could easily just check us out much faster than we can ourselves. Self checkout is a joke. It means you do not care about customer service, because most tolerate it rather than prefer it. The absolute worst part is they removed all chairs & benches, inside and out, so if you happen to be elderly or disabled and have to wait for a taxi or other ride, you just get to stand out in the cold.
