This Cable Company sucks! They charge you a monthly fee to use their receiver, On Demand has a very limited selection, DVR menu and options are not very user friendly, constant service interruption and their customer service is the WORST. I recently decided to switch over from DirecTV due to a recent promotion which at the time, seemed like a great deal. It turns out that I am actually paying more now on a monthly basis than I did with DirecTV. If you are considering switching providers, you should first consider hitting yourself in the face with a hammer......Customer service is unresponsive and could care less as to why you are calling. PATHETIC! PISS POOR! I have called Time Warner Cable innumerable times regarding my internet service which is continually dropped - usually at the most inconvenient time such as uploading a document for work or sending an email. FIRST of all - there is NO customer service!! I am never able to understand the "tech" who is overseas (?India ?Pakistan). There's always an excuse for why the problem exists - none of them are ever associated with Time Warner's pathetic service! SECOND - Instead of repairing the problem, Time Warner offered me an "upgrade for 30 dollars more per month." Let me get his straight......IF I sign up for a more expensive plan, I'm entitled to uninterrupted service but if I keep my baseline plan I'm entitled to shoddy service?! Briefly....My internet was down. TWC's automatic phone system and the online chat, said that there was "an outage in your area" but could not give any further information. 2 days later after many calls, rebooting re-doing the trouble shooting tips, I went to their Van Nuys office. the nice lady behind the counter said "what outage? There was no outage" and sent a technician the next day who fixed the problem with a new TWC modem. I shall be using my newly re-connected internet to find another provider as soon as poss. I have switched many times but there arent to many out there!! I only have internet with TWC. I have been over charged before but they credited back a small amount! My modem stopped working and I called the customer service line and this guy gave me a western union location to return my non working modem and I asked him are you sure I will get an exchange because this is a Western union and ofcourse they said they dont do this and they dont work with TWC at all and others have been sent here!! So I called back and got the Van Nuys office and I know of this location but wanted a closer one!! We waited not to long but there was only 2 reps there! TWC complete disregard for peoples time or money. Tried to drop off a couple of cable boxes today since I am moving in with someone who already has cable. I noticed Time Warner was advertising a cheaper price for internet than I was paying. I have been a loyal customer for 14 years. I called and they tried to UPSELL me to another more expensive package. When I protested they said I would have to talk to the retention department and would I like to be transferred. Sure I said. Got promptly disconnected. Tried again 3 times, disconnected all 3 times. I give up....what a bunch of crooks. Awful company. Awful service. Awful everything. You sign up, pay and they don't provide the service they promise. That is how it goes. I setup 50/50 service for a relative in studio city. Never got that speed. Got 13 to 15 at best. Time Warner could not resolve an issue created by their own equpment. We called to resolve the speed issue and they said to come in for a newer modem. We did. Installed the modem. Nothing changed except they added a tv package. We didn't know till we checked the bill and saw it. when we tried to reject it they said we asked for it and wouldn't budge at all. If I could put half a star I would. I have gone in there 2 times the first time it was bad service unknowledgeable about what they offered but managed to be able to get situated. Yesterday March 13th I spoke to a representative over the phone and 3 online representatives all gave me the same answers about the modem that I was acquiring about which was the tp-link ac1750. They said they offered it and checked the availability at the van Nuys location on covello. They were gonna order it for me but I said it would be easier for me to just go into a store and swap it out, (or so I thought) . I arrive at the store no one is there except for the representative she asks me to wait then calls me I asked about the modem and she says they do not have that one available without checking either the computer or the back. So I asked if she can order the modem for me she said no that I would have to keep the one I have. That she cannot order a modem and if she could it would be for the same model. Spectrum does not respect customers who speak English. I continue to receive junk mail from them in Spanish, they answer the phone in Spanish and then one of them calls me "sir". Odd that an "American" company. They refuse to stop sending me junk mail in Spanish. They continue to harass me with foreign language. This company is no better than its predecessor Time Warner. I only give 1 star because it's required for review. For the second time (1st was at previous address), I had a technician come to move (my modem) hookup to a different room and 5 min after he left there was no internet service. Both times they went through hours of troubleshooting over the phone and concluded it was my modem which btw was working fine when he arrived (both times). They rescheduled another technician for 5pm today and I sat here from 4pm to 5:15 waiting..finally called. They said their notes show I cancelled the call! I NEVER got a call! Now they can't come for 2 more days after another hour on the phone trouble shooting. I'm also being charged $39 for each visit. I would gladly try another company but there's nothing available in my area. 4 days with no internet and if my modem is ruined then I have to rent one from them monthly.... all wrong. The worst. They have a monopoly because there are no other cable companies for my Encino neighborhood. The services are very expensive, and the customer service is terrible. I usually speak to a person in another country that does not understand what I am saying. It is very frustrating. I have had problem after problem with the service.... the picture is constantly freezing and is pixelated. The channels are constantly dropping, and I have to rebot my box and call in to get my channels back. My internet is very slow. My kids are always complaining how slow the internet is. Almost every-time I call Specturm I am disconnected after waiting at least 10 minutes on hold. read more

They literally lied to me, raised my rate twice in two months, then told me I changed my plan (I didn't), and finally told me the only way to complain was to the California Department of Consumer Affairs. I despise Time Warner-Spectrum's customer service! I switched to Time Warner from Direct TV to save a measly $60 a month. Time Warner charges $149 installing fee. Direct TV installation is free. The past 2 months we have been having trouble with the internet and cable. I finally made the time to call and have a tech come out and take a look. The internet problem was resolved. The cable problem was not. What happens is the box reboots itself while your watching TV. Annoying right? Well the techs were nice enough to tell me the issue won't be resolved until April (3 months away), gave me open ticket numbers and I called and all Spectrum offered was a $25 credit. So since the problem wasn't going to be resolved anytime soon, I had direct TV re-installed (at new customer pricing). I then called time Warner-Spectrum to disconnect my cable, but I would keep their internet. They informed me the price would go up for the internet. When I checked online while I was on the phone, the price was lower online but the customer service wouldn't give me that price because they said I wasn't a new customer. Yes I am a new customer! And unsatisfied with the cable, but not the internet! Well after the rude and ghetto customer service representative refused to help me, I cancelled all services. They are out a customer and I am out a $150 installation fee! Never again will I use this company to save a buck! read more

Time Warner Cable has to be the worst in the entire United States. The cable box we have, refuses to hold a 1080i level and the picture quality is poor. So, after waiting several days, they sent a technician to the house. He knew even less than I do, which is "0", about fixing the problem. I just called and the customer service person with whom I spoke, wasn't listening to a word I said. When I asked for a supervisor, she told me she'd put me on hold for 30 minutes because there is no supervisor available for another 1/2 hour. When I asked for another service call to try to fix the problem, once and for all, I was told that I'd have to wait three days and then a four hour window in the middle of the day. Time Warner Cable doesn't even rate 1 star. Their service quality is an absolute "0". We will be looking into direct dish service. read more

It's unfortunate but The people in charge at this company (not the managers, above them) Don't care about their customer, but their bonus checks instead... (1) I seem to be paying more often than a 30 day average cycle not all the time but sometimes seems like I am paying more frequently than every 30 day average, (2) they definitely do not provide 200 mbps as promised at least in the area I am in.. and I pay 69.99 per month for only internet and get less that 30 mbps sometimes as slow as 10 mbps and I have only once seen 180 mbps for a brief few seconds, must have been a glitch.. The real unfortunate situation is that most customers don't realize they are not getting the service that they were advertised, BIG TIME.. The real messed up part is that there IS NOT really any competition for SPECTRUM so they are able to not provide as promised and not loose customers, because there really isn't any other option at the moment. It is however known that if people get fed up enough that the public can create a cable company (with tax rev) to service a specific city that has proven that their current choices are not providing adequate service for the price. As a company looses its efficiency it will loose it's pockets and in order to counter that loss they have been over charging customers and not giving them the service they are actually paying for but less. Worst place ever I called 1:30PM for closer Location to Sherman oaks and thus is the closest one. I asked hour of the service they said it opens until 6:30PM. So I got there 5:15PM and security guard Nicolas won't even let me talk to manager and keep repeating " come back on Monday!!!" Really I don't have time on Monday to drive back to your store. I like the cable, tv, and phone service with Time Warner (Spectrum). However, going to this location and getting help was ridiculous. There was a huge line where the people have to input their name on an ipad to save their space in line. Obviously, not everyone knows how to manage an ipad or some people can not read nor speak English, so there should be a representative there helping which would make the line go by quicker. While waiting (over a hour) for my name to be called, I was standing next to the paying machine. An older lady asked if I could help her, so I did. Then, I had five other people ask me for help. I do not mind helping others, but when you have a Spectrum worker or I believe he was the manager (a man with a blazer) just standing watching his co-workers work, you would think he would be the one helping these customers. I think this location has good potential, but needs better managing. Finally, I was helped by a lady name Diana who was nice and helped with my situation. read more

Holy F&@k. You think DMV is bad??!!!! I've never been to a Time Warner this crowded and slow moving. Well, first of all, the reason I had to come is because my modem broke and rather than wait 4 days for them to send one to me, this was my only other option. As an aside, I just hooked up service a week ago and already, problems.Got here at 1pm. They were serving number 80-something. I pulled a ticket and my ticket number was 37. Um yeah.... I waited about an hour and a half. The customer service rep that helped me was very nice - that's the only reason I'm giving two stars. Otherwise, it would be negative stars!!! And while I was sitting there waiting for my turn, I watched the employees move slower than slugs. I mean, they see the mess of people waiting and they take their sweet time staring at the screen, walking back to the cabinet, walking back to their desk, and the walking was about as slow as a 90 year old man with a cane. Time Warner, Oops! Spectrum, I am tired of commercials. Along with all other "Time Warner/ Spectrum customers I pay, pay, pay to watch commercials. I call customer service to complain, a nice gentleman in customer service agrees with me that he also dislikes the commercials, and that he will bring it up in a meeting tomorrow. Changing the company name and  keeping a tired, arrogant, substandard, lazy system, is what all of us get for not complaining, while "Spectrum" rips us off each month, to the tune of $300.00 per month on the average, but says, "We are not responsible for the commercials, it's ABC, Fox News, and the local television stations fault." They are to blame. Really? Then why are we paying you for a tired service that is behind the "Times." No pun intended. If we have to watch commercials, then pay us. Your customers should be reimbursed for every commercial that has been shoved down our throat. People, me need to band together.
