If you came from Covello, turn right on Van Nuys Blvd then watch out for The Plant and look for To Go's Sandwiches. Enter thru the alley/driveway by To Go's and Spectrum is on your left. Now that they are Spectrum, employees are nicer and more knowledgeable. My family has been a TWC subscriber for as long as I can remember and every one just dreads going to TWC stores or calling them. But now they are more patient in explaining really what's your package and your bill! No more long lines. My review is for the service center and not TWC in general. I drove to this place to return my modem because I didn't need their service anymore. I went at 11 am on Saturday. I had no idea what to expect but I was quite surprised. They were fully staffed at this location and the people working their were on their game for sure. I walked in, took a number and found out there were 9 people ahead of me!!! yeah...9. So I took a seat and watched the kids run around and people try to get stuff for free for no reason...then to my surprise, my number was called. I seriously only waited 10 minutes at the most. I turned in my equipment and they lady told me that I was actually getting a refund!!! from time warner??? I asked her again if this was correct :) Anyway, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and back to taking care of my weekend responsibilities. read more

I will write this review on as many locations' pages as I can even though the Van Nuys location is mine. I went online to ask for a payment extension of 14 days. The online chat agent said he could not help me. I then tried calling their billing line. I was told multiple times that I would have to pay $5 to talk to a live person. I finally finagled my way to a live representative by going through technical service. The technical service person told me that I could may a Promise to Pay through billing. The billing person was friendly at first. He took my information. I told him I wanted a 14 day extension. He came back on the line and said that his supervisor had told him that it was impossible. I then told him why I couldn't pay immediately. My mother has just died. I know this sounds like just a story, but it's true. I told the billing rep that in 5 years I had never asked for an extension, but I really couldn't pay at the moment because I had to travel back and forth to South Carolina. I promised I would pay the full amount on the 29th. He told me the system wouldn't allow it. I told him that he said he had asked his supervisor--a human being--and that that person had said no. He then denied he had ever mentioned a supervisor. This terrible company refused to help me even though I was only asking for 14 days. Whatever you do, do not sign up for Time Warner Cable or Spectrum. They are heartless monsters. read more

I can't believe that the time, added up that I've been on the phone trying to get something very simple done, still hasn't been done, nobody knows what or how to deal with _CUSTOMER CARE is amazing. Know that some time warner boxes still exist in our system and if you have one, that it takes a huge village to get some sense here. 3 hours on the phone with CUSTOMER SERIVE trying to figure out how to change the service to record on the box, or change out the box was so painful that you almost have to see a Psychiatrist and for over $200 bucks a month, the pain then reaches Orthopedic Doctor level Nobody knows the whole picture so you get a run around. A new service like Verizon could come here in Studio City and clean up with the shitty spectrum run around. Today I had Time Warner Cable come out and check my internet. I was told that the problem was two fold. It was Windows 10 and a cable that I had. Everything on their end checked out. The tech was very thorough and connected my wi fi which wasn't working. He went outside and checked the lines to the house and to the pole. He checked the speed to see that I was able to download something from the internet. We went to youtube and the weather app. I am glad that I took a friend's advice and had TWC come out before I went to another company. I think the tech's name was Shawn and he was very knowledgeable. I wish there was "no star" review available. Most probably one of the crappiest companies I've seen. They simply don't give a damn about their current customers. Here is the deal: you sign up for a package, which is good for 12 months, then the price goes way up. You have to call them, and some rude lazy bag of bones will be trying to "help" you out. The new suggested monthly payment, of course , will be higher then you signed up initially. Then either you sign for that new higher payment or cancel the service. If you ask them to cancel their service- they are happy to do it, without any regrets. Stay away from this company , this branch as well. read more

Negative stars. All I wanted was my service transferred and add the $10/mo phone plan. Wrong easy connect kit sent twice. Failure to add phone service to my bill after 3 different phone calls. Upon plugging in my old cable boxes, one didn't work and after trouble shooting with the rep on the phone it still wasn't functioning so we asked a tech to be sent out. Turns out, the tech was a contractor, not even a time warner representative, who was not allowed to touch our cable box. I've now had contact with 6 different representatives, soon to be 7, and my services are still not 100% functional. I HATE time warner. Almost a month and I'm not receiving the services I'm paying for. TWC are crooks; they are irresponsible and unintelligent a-holes. Because of the monopoly, I have no restitution but this Yelp review. I'm currently on stern tones and harsh yep reviews. Spectrum is the worst company I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. we ordered two LG stylo phones. Instead we received two Moto G phones. They told us they didnt even have LG stylo phones which was not what they said when we ordered the phones. Then when we wanted to return them, we were to be charged $50 restocking fee! And it would be 4 weeks we would be without a phone! Even though it was not our fault. We were lied to about what phone was sent to us, received phones we didnt want, couldnt take them to the store and exchange them because we ordered online and they didnt have the phones we wanted in the first place, would cost us $50 per phone restocking fee and the insult to it all it will take 4-6 weeks before we could get any phone! No way to run a company! I'm appalled at such business tactics! Consumers beware! This company will tell you anything just to cheat you any way they can. read more

Do not get Spectrum as your cable subscriber. They are against Americans with Disabilities. When I explained that I'm on a fixed income and already don't fill all my medicines just to be able to watch TV, they were so uncaring. They were so nice to give me a what I found out was a one time $20 dollar credit. NOT. I don't know what they thought a one time credit would do. The worst customer service! I was told to go to the actual office by the phone clerk to deal with something that was clearly their mistake. There were 60 (!!!!!!) people in front of me, I had to wait for 3 hours while pregnant, the location doesn't even have a bathroom! I've had TWC for as long as I've had cable in my apt. Everything has been okay until about a year ago. I'm experiencing constant pixelation, sound drop outs, frozen picture (with the sound continuing), you name it. They've been out three times in the last year and there's nothing wrong on my end. I pay and pay and the rates go up and up and they always apologize and just can't seem to fix it. I tell them over and over not to bother sending someone out because they never find anything wrong, that it's there crappy broadcast standards on their end, but to no avail. Right now I'm trying to watch "Better Call Saul" and I'm not exaggerating when I say that out of 40 minutes, I don't have a f**king clue as to what's going on due to not hearing crucial parts of the conversation. This is maddening. It's now another 15 minutes and a good 4 minutes is anyone's guess. Even when I try to rewind it, it freezes on the longer drop outs preventing me from starting over from the beginning in the hopes of maybe piecing things together. All in all, a terrible broadcast. And this happens on any channel. Right now, as I pen this, the volume dropped out for over a minute and then off and on during a crucial moment to the plot. Now I have to hope that when I view it on demand the same crap doesn't happen again. This is really terrible quality for a cable company. What's the sense in having cable when you can't enjoy it? I can't believe how shady and disorganized these people are. I was forced to switch to Spectrum as they're the only service in my area, and was told by a chat representative to go to the nearest location -- which was in the hood and completely out of the way (30min drive in the opposite direction of work). Their store hours were listed as 8:30am (which is also what I was told by their chat rep) so I showed up at 8:25. I get there to a crowd of people and find out that they've changed their hours to 9am. We all had to wait until they opened and had to stand there and watch as they took a card and scraped the store hours off and replaced the new time of 9am. Ok, I am torn between 3 and 4 stars - why? because the place is next to impossible to find - it is down an alley inside a neighborhood. The easiest way to get there is to take Tyrone North off Sherman Way and go right on Covello and it is just up the alley on the left. What I like is that you take a number and then can sit on the comfortable benches and watch some TV, in English and Spanish. There is tons of parking and I've been there 3 times and didn't have any lines (of course I went during the day and not at lunch). The people behind the counter were nice and friendly. Time Warner Cable can be a pain, but if you don't want Direct TV you have no choice really. I had the bundle, but never used the phone so I dropped it. Haven't had trouble adding or removing services or having them come out and fix things. I do not like the tuning adapters and have to call a lot to get them reset but other than that they are fine. read more

setting up my appointment for new service was easy over the internet but they never forwarded the work order to the local office. i called the local noho office and the lady sorted it all out and told me to pickup equipment in van nuys. so here i am NOW at the van nuys office and its completely full of people with accounting issues. why cant i just pick up my new equipment and get out of here? this snippy attendant in a sport coat just yelled at me for taking a cellphone call OUTSIDE the waiting room because apparently you sign away all your civil rights to move freely when you sign up for cable service. this guy is a complete ass.. I came to this location since it was closer to my home. As soon as you walk In the door, there is no one to help guide you to check in. You walk in a bit lost. Luckily for me , my boyfriend acted quickly and checked us in before anyone else could write their name on the check in monitor before us. They are clearly lacking customer service reps. If you have somewhere you need to be after here, I highly recommend going to a different location. Be prepared to be standing around since all the seats are taken . You can definitely feel the anxiety in the air of how frustrated people are since they take such a long time to help you out. We checked in at 5pm as number 31 in line, it's 6:30 and we are still number 16... In addition, the security guard that works here is arrogant and condescending. He walked around the store , and demanded one by one to get everyone's cables and controls rudely, which he didn't have to. Not a great location to go to overall. read more

Loooooooooong lines, came here twice and realized it would not get better, so I was forced to stay and wait. In fact if the line was smaller, I wouldn't have time to write this review. Just to give you an idea, the number I pulled was 75; the number that was being served was 24. Easy math to see HOW MANY people were in line in front of me. No restroom. Wait, I'm in this line for over 2 hours and there's no restroom?! I was under impression that when you build a customers related facility, you build a restroom within, so you can be a customer friendly business. Really disappointed here, feels like I'm in dmv or something.. although they DO have restrooms there, don't they! Note, that google says they open at 7am.. lies! They are not open until 8.30. Love TWC, but this is just outrageous here! If they were planning on getting all the clients from at&t and directTV, they should have thought of preparing to meet and greet their clients better. This review is not only for the store but for the nighmarish experience with Time Warner Cable over the past 3 years. Let me start with the cancellation process. I had to call six times and every single time I was transferred to someone who would put me on hold when I tried to transfer services. It was a two week wait to get services transferred and I telecommute full-time so that was not going to work for me-- it was the final nail in the coffin. (The service quality is not good, it's way overpriced, the list goes on.) They WOULD NOT listen to me when I tried to cancel. One woman sounded like she was stoned and got mad at me when I told her I needed more specific location after she had literally said the same exact vague information THREE times! My father called on my behalf and he was given the same treatment. All in all, if we added up the time we each spent being juggled on the phone, it was probably-- no exaggeration-- 3-4 hours. I had to wait for an hour and 45 minutes at the store to turn in my equipment and pay my final bill, which took about 7 minutes total. The woman who helped me was very nice-- literally my only positive experience with TWC. Once I was done, not even an hour later, I got a call from a rep asking me why I had cancelled my account. I said I didn't want to talk. Then, the next day, I got yet another call from a very rude woman who would never would have convinced me to re-join TWC. -"Ms. R, I need to speak to you about your account. Why did you cancel it?" -"I've spoken to 10 people about this already." -"Ma'am, you need to tell ME." Well, that was an opportunity to let loose, so I told her about all the awful experiences with TWC and said, "What do I need to do so you people will finally stop calling me now that my account is over?!" "Nothing." Fabulous. Well, 10 days after I closed my account (which was normally $134 every month) I got an email saying I owed $177. I went on live chat at 10:44 and, as of 11:24, am still waiting to get this settled. I've gotten transferred to FOUR different agents already. I was told that I need to call my local store to stop getting billed, which is lovely, because I'm not even a customer anymore and have spent countless hours dealing with them already. No earthly idea why no one can take care of this for me. I turned in my boxes, paid my final bill, turned down reps twice, and still, somehow it is MY responsibility to call the store to make sure they closed my account correctly. How is that a thing?! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, ENERGY, OR MONEY! I switched to AT&T U-verse and have had a fantastic experience so far. For about $8 a month more I have the total home DVR including guides and on-deman services for all of my TVs, higher internet speeds, and HBO, Showtime, all the premium channels. TWC is lucky they've monopolized most apartment buildings in the area because otherwise no one would use their services. Never never never!!! read more

Coming from a customer service background myself sometimes we are too harsh in our reviews and forget to thank people for proving us with good service, specially during the weekend.
