Very sloppy job!!! A tech came to fix dropping wi fi connection and had to accessed the wall panel. When finished he left the cover hanging by one screw with compartment gaping and wires protruding. Called another tech and he added screws to 2 more corners with wires still protruding and panel cover protruding away from the wall. Called a third time and the tech commented "we are not Home Depot you know". If they had done the job properly the first time we would not have needed visit #2 and #3!!!! Spectrum is a horrible company. Everything from customer service, to technical support, to their retail location, to the equipment they provide you and even their end product (Internet in our case) is very bad. And if all that were not bad enough, they are expensive and their business model is to abuse existing customers with steady price increases. We have had Spectrum Internet for years and years. I called around 6 months ago, to ask if they could help us save some money on the Internet. Sure! the nice lady on the phone said. For just a $70 one-time service fee, they would bring and install new and updated equipment while also saving us $25 a month on the Internet. Great! The technician came and did the install. He said he tested everything. And... drumroll please... none of our tvs could connect to the new Internet. Nor could some of our other WiFi based home conveniences. So I called and they sent another technician, who was more thorough and honest, who explained that the new router wasn't strong enough to reach the nearest tv, which is about 15 feet from the router. So, the ten year old router reached all of our stuff, but the new one couldn't. Nice. We had to buy an Amazon eero system to extend the internet to our devices. After all this, the tvs still only connect sometimes and are slow, compared to the old Spectrum system. Spectrum simply doesn't care about its customers. Zero stars. (Unfortunately Spectrum is also a near monopoly. Only other choice for Internet here is Starlink.) read more

I had a 2PM appointment today and arrived on time. There were three employees working, all busy at first, but they acknowledged that I was next in line. When their rep, Omar, became available, he decided to help someone without an appointment who had just been waiting around. I politely spoke up and mentioned that I had a scheduled appointment at 2PM. Instead of handling it professionally, Omar gave me attitude and said the walk-in had been waiting since 1:30. I reminded him that I was told I was next, yet he looked at the other customer, asked if they minded, and went ahead and helped them anyway. When I questioned it again, Omar's tone was rude and dismissive, telling me I'd just have to wait. This level of customer service is unacceptable -- appointments are made for a reason, and employees should know how to handle them respectfully. Omar clearly needs additional training on customer communication and prioritizing appointments properly. Honestly, I'm glad I was canceling my Spectrum service after this experience. This visit just confirmed it was the right decision. read more

I can't take it anymore! Constant buffering, freezing, disconnecting. Went it and got new equipment, and it's worse than before. I keep seeing Spectrum trucks in the neighborhood, so I know it's not just me. Says I have excellent signal strength, but it just won't stay connected. We got offered 50 dollars a month instead of $91 a month because we were going to switch to T-Mobile. I called back today to take them up on that offer. The reason I know that I'm still a customer is because I have three weeks left that I paid for, I was told by Jocelyn that everything is disconnected. I don't have Internet in my home, even though I paid for it. I have three weeks left. I will wait 24 hours for a call back to fix this situation. 616-516-0243. Otherwise, I will be making a fraudulent bank charge from you guys to the bank for disconnecting my service after paying for a full month. I was called at 2:48 Three employees and manager that could have easily opened a computer to multi task to help customers. There were 13 people on board waiting!!! I contacted Spectrum on June 18, 2025, to start a mobile service with them. (My phone fell a river and is unretrievable. Straight Talk took almost three weeks to STILL not send a WORKING SIM card for the phone they supposedly matched the IMEI to the card(s) sent... Three times!!!!) The Spectrum person I spoke with on June 18th convinced me not to buy a Galaxy A-16 on Amazon (delivered in one day, free returns & free shipping with PRIME, $49 for 2 years of insurance) and assured me if I bought the same phone from Spectrum, I would have it in two days and would know it will work with their system. I have had Spectrum at the same address since August 2016. Today is June 20th, 2025. I live in California, my sister has health issues and I was counting on this phone. It was NEVER shipped!!!!! It is STILL in TEXAS!!! Two days later and it hasn't moved one inch closer!!!!! I canceled my phone order through Spectrum. They won't ship it without a photo of my license front and back...or my passport, so they can make sure this customer of 9 years is indeed the very customer who responded to all their verification checks perfectly, and whose credit card went through with no issues. After reading the negative review where a Spectrum employee STOLE a customer's credit card information and purchased more than $2000. worth of new phones for themself, and Spectrum did nothing to help the customer, I'll be damned if I am giving any Spectrum employee my legal, valid identification along with all the other personal information and banking information they already have!!!! I will add more if I have any more problems with Spectrum after I receive the Galaxy A-16 I just ordered this evening, and is arriving between 7 am and 11:30 am TOMORROW. (FREE 1 day shipping... Thank you Amazon) My phone case is awaiting the phone that Spectrum NEVER shipped, but Amazon will have the phone at my doorstep by June 21, 2025!!! One day!!! Wish I could leave zero stars. Called Customer Service (CS) to speak about grievances, I turned on my call recording, she heard it notifying her of this (I had surgery a week ago and can only use one arm, unable to type notes). I took over my 82 year old grandparent's account a month ago (beginning of March). I changed all of the info to match my contact, the bills come to me, everything. The CS rep refused to speak with me, mockingly asked if I changed account info today, was arguing with me; I asked her to stop interrupting me, telling her that I needed to express my concern so I could be assisted properly. She hung up on me. I went online to see if I could downgrade services; redirected to their awful CS phone line (833.949.0036). Left this on their site: 1. Terrible "why wasn't this helpful options" - three choices that do not encompass legitimate concerns. "it wasn't what I searched for", "it was confusing" (seriously?), "it has inaccurate or incorrect info". 2. Making it impossible to downgrade services - upgrade and give you money, no problem - do something about abhorrent scams on seniors being charged $400.00 a month for internet, home phone that they haven't had in 10 years, and TV; which includes a DVR they have no idea how to use, and receivers/cable boxes in bedrooms that no one lives in (who are hard of hearing and cannot advocate for themselves), no can do. 3. Corporate greed at its finest, on such a disgusting level. read more

THANK YOU, VERONICA! A few years ago I switched my mobile phone from Verizon to Spectrum and have been very happy with the service and the low price. Another close friend of mine did it too. This year the Verizon cell phone of one of my best friends wouldn't connect to the Spectrum internet in her house often. Suddenly her LIMITED data plan that had worked well for several years was costing her a fortune each month. Spectrum came out and checked her cable and internet service. They couldn't find anything wrong. Verizon mobile couldn't find anything wrong on their end also. Their only solution was for her to go to an $82 UNLIMITED plan. That was around an extra $30 a month. I said to my friend, "It's time for you to switch to Spectrum." She had concerns about how well Spectrum would work in her hillside neighborhood but she was willing to give it a try. A few days later, we went to the mobile store in Thousand Oaks, CA and got there when the store opened. After a very short wait, the amazing Veronica helped us. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She treats her customers with kindness and patience, and spending time with her was a pleasure for us. She also knows the technology so well. Veronica has been with Spectrum for many years. Within a short time she had the phone switched to Spectrum mobile and it was working! My friend had free unlimited service for a year, the second year it would be only around $30. Coverage so far in her home has been just as good as with Verizon. Spectrum is so fortunate to have someone as lovely and smart as Veronica representing their company to the public. She deserves to be acknowledged for all the hard work she does for Spectrum's customers. read more

I had an appointment to return equipment, and I sat for about 45 minutes (30 minutes past my appointment time) while 3 or 4 Spectrum employees worked with people buying new phones. I finally went up to one to say I had an appointment, and he said, "I don't know what to tell you." When I was called to return my equipment--which took about 2 minutes, by the way--he told me "You can return your equipment at any UPS." I wish I had known that. It wasn't mentioned in the half-dozen or so emails and text messages I got from Spectrum telling me to return my equipment at a Spectrum center. read more

DO NOT EVER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SPECTRUM!!! Do not get their cable, internet or cellular service. Do not believe anything they promise or tell you while talking to their representatives. Their business practices and employees are completely deceitful, unethical, unprofessional. About a month ago, I called to see what I could do to reduce my bill. After an hour and a half, I agreed to a new television and internet package. I asked the representative at least four times if I would still have all the channels that I currently had. He swore that I would and even made a smart ass comment how I must have trust issues. The changes were implemented two days ago. Of course,I had about half of the channels that I used to have. I then spent the next three and a half hours on the phone trying to get it corrected. I was transferred around to numerous people, getting different answers to the same questions from each one of them. At one point I also asked them to read back to me their notes from my call last month. The notes were complete lies and were not even close to anything we talked about or agreed upon. Each representative I spoke with had no desire to resolve anything and were incredibly incompetent. One even sounded like he was intoxicated. Don't ask me why I stayed on the phone as long as I did. I don't know where that kind of patience for complete incompetence came from. And here's the thing, I remember going through the same nightmare when I first signed up for Spectrum several years ago. This tells me that this type of culture is taught and encouraged. Unbelievable bad customer service and products. I frequently have outages for no apparent reasons. They won't even offer you credit after being without internet or cable tv for more than a day. When you call customer service the call disconnects. When you login to your account they only have a chat bot with canned answers. You are unable to cancel or downgrade any services online, but of course you can upgrade or add services online. The only way to cancel or downgrade service is by calling the customer service number, but of course they don't answer the call so you are unable to cancel. This should be illegal because they are holding you hostage to their products and services. I will try to resolve this in person at the store and if this doesn't work my only other option is to file a claim in small claims court. It's sad it is coming to this. read more

We've become cable cutters, based on Charter / Spectrum's continuous, unannounced price increases, frequent outages, and continuous diminishing quality of customer service. Since signing up with Adelphia (two mergers back) about 10 years ago, prices have almost quadrupled, and storefronts / service centers have consolidated to fewer and fewer locations. We finally had enough. Transferring to internet-only Frontier was pretty easy. The most difficult part was returning equipment to the Spectrum storefront in Thousand Oaks, and waiting (and waiting, and waiting) to get to the front of the line. Oh, you didn't sign in? Go to the back of the line. Oh, the kiosk doesn't work? Try hitting the keyboard harder. Quitting mid-month? Sorry, we no longer pro-rate your charges, you're sh*t out of luck. Frontier internet is more than twice as fast, with balanced bandwidth up and down (Zoom videoconferences, anyone?) By adding Hulu No Commercials ($12.99 a month) we've found everything we wanted with NO commercials! read more

I complained for two years, asking for a new TV receiver after returning one to Hillcrest Spectrum. Finally, someone called me after two years paying for a faulty box and said you have property and demanded property after all my complaints over two years of being charged for a faulty box. They referred me back to billing after the complain department and when I pointed out if I kept a faulty TV receiver and the new one I returned two years ago I would be paying for an additional TV receiver all this time without an addition TV set. An unused TV set sits all this time and is unused to the point of it's no good or trash. Then they hung up the phone when they said they would research the attempt we made to call and fix the problem and stop billing us for a receiver we don't use because their own department said it was faulty. I am sure we well get a letter that says they looked into it and closed the case. An old TV receiver they say they want back is probably so old or from another company they wouldn't recognize it and that is no excuse to keep over billing. read more

Worst company EVER! We signed up to transfer service to our new home in Thousand Oaks California from 4 years as customers in Canoga Park California. Then they turned off or cable and WiFi while we were working from home,in Canoga Park without our permission, 2 weeks early. Fu*cking OMG! 1st. Spectrum has a monopoly on the DODGERS GAMES. Therefore you must have Spectrum for ANY DODGERS GAMES. This is how you are at their mercy. 2nd. Since Spectrum has you at their mercy they treat you like sh*t, have you hold at a minimum of 45 minutes for any service with a recording that states: Thank you for calling Spectrum. Our customers are our first priority and it is our top priority to help you during this time of crisis. (TOP PRIORITY MY ASS!) I was to be at my new residences by 10 am for the technician to arrive today. By 12:30pm no one had arrived. After the third call to Spectrum I talked to a woman from the Retention Department and she said because of COVID they are not sending people out to hook up services. PLUS. THERE IS NO INTERNET SERVICE HERE IN THOUSAND OAKS WHICH WE WERE TOLD WAS GOING TO BE RECONNECTED. SPECTRUM GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER. HIRE MORE PEOPLE, TRAIN PEOPLE TO KNOW WHAT THE FU*K IS GOING ON! They promised to offer speeds up to 300 mbps, but typical was always less than 67 mbps throughout the day despite endless phone calls. I finally made the switch to another ISP which was half the price and significantly faster after testing for several weeks. I spoke to their customer service representative, Vanessa, expressing my intent to discontinue my Spectrum internet services. The representative argued with me and said she could not honor my request unless I explained my rationale. After thoroughly explaining my reasons, she disregarded me and proceeded to offer me other services. She refused to let me speak with a supervisor and kept me on hold for 10 minutes at a time.
