Whoever tf runs the North hills to Northridge area has caused me $700 in service for the worst Internet and I've had it for 3 years. The last few months has been abysmal when they did an update for upgraded services out here. It's literally costing me my remote work and it seems like this company doesn't care to fix it. I've had a technician show up out here and they've tried giving me credits to my service and I tell them I don't want it. I want to ACTUALLY work in 2025 with everyone else getting laid off and this is just awful. I can't do this anymore and if I end up without work at my job I 190% blame spectrum. I'm a software engineer out here with a remote to hybrid job. So having. No connection or choppy service consistently needing to be reset and devices turned back off and on is ridiculous. I'm paying for their highest Internet for the record and beforehand it was working well. Whatever they did with the new service updates is ruining my life. I doubt any person on their higher ups knows or even cares but I might have to setup a class action at this point based on how many individuals also have been dealing with this issue in the area. 1/5 Stars - Dishonest Billing Practices and Horrible Customer Service I have been a loyal Spectrum customer for over eight years. When my bill increased yet again, I decided to switch to Starlink for a lower, consistent rate. On February 4th, I called Spectrum to cancel my service to ensure I wouldn't be billed for the upcoming month (my billing cycle starts on the 13th). I was transferred to the retention department, who offered to lower my bill to $21.25 a month to keep me. I agreed to try it for one month as a side-by-side comparison with my new Starlink service. Despite calling 9 days before my billing date, Spectrum charged me the full $81.25 on February 13th. When I called back to address this, I was told they couldn't prorate my final bill because I was canceling, despite the fact that I called to cancel (or adjust) the service before the billing date. This feels incredibly dishonest! Promising a lower rate to keep a customer, only to bill them the old rate anyway. I am finalizing my switch to Starlink. Our internet failed at 4am this morning, so I called to see if there was an outage in the area, but there wasn't. The customer service rep walked me through the troubleshooting process and it still didn't work. They immediately scheduled a service technician to come only hours later. SPECTRUM "KNOWS" these phone these phones have SERIOUS Cell Phone 'compatibility issues' (with their service), yet SPECTRUM continues to sell them to customers anyway! The "SPECTRUM DEAL": For one year, 'Unlimited' cellphone service, Free texting and mobile Internet as well. They also include 50/Mbs home Internet at $49.99 per month! "IF" YOUR phone IS compatible, this can be a very good offer, however, that "compatible cell phone list" is extremely short and none of my four phones would operate with Spectrum! Chances are your phone won't qualify either. Now SPECTRUM convinced me to buy (a fifth) "Spectrum Cellphone" that WOULD be compatible, BUT IS NOT! It is a "MOTOROLA 5G" that CAN access the Internet, but REFUSES to 'activate' PHONE Call Service! The Techs went round and round with new Sim cards and many calls to advanced tech support, many more button 'commands', but still "no-go"! After three visits to the Spectrum mall store (and many lost hours) I asked for a replacement phone, but Spectrum refused! SPECTRUM knew I had working cell service with AT&T because we used my phone for test calls to the Motorola. After three "Advanced Spectrum Repair tickets" there were STILL NO solutions! Then SPECTRUM convinced me to SEND the defective phone to MOTOROLA Repairs. More bad news, the "repaired phone" STILL would not activate for phone calls and the TECH MUTTERED: "YEA, we've had a LOT of problems with these Motorola's"! At this point I was more than upset and I demanded a REPLACEMENT phone, but "Oh' NO"!.. BECAUSE "I "possessed" the phone for more than 30 DAYS there was NO WAY SPECTRUM would replace it because that POS SPECTRUM MOTOROLA phone was now "mine"! When pressed, Spectrum WILL ADMIT they have 'MAJOR ISSUES" with Motorola 5G's since day 1, yet SPECTRUM/VERIZON CONTINUES to SELL these DEFECTIVE/mis-matched Motorola's to unsuspecting customers TODAY in 41 STATES! $200.00 plus taxes and fees, and countless hours of lost time and frustrations! (I would be first to signup for a class action lawsuit against SPECTRUM!) Next I realized that SPECTRUM bumped up my monthly bill to that $49.99, but they are on 'auto-pay' and I didn't notice it until month two. We just had a crazy experience. We called spectrum because the spectrum app did not have a picture although we could hear the voices. after rebooting the app, I mentioned that sometimes spectrum will give me problems and explain them to him. The original representative wanted to put our streaming onto the same modem as our telephone to help. He could not get it connected and then could not take us back to our original set up. we apparently had a router that was not a spectrum router, which is OK, but it was no longer compatible. It was so frustrating because before the call, we were all fine, and our children were using the Internet to do homework. Internet service has become a very valuable tool for school, entertainment and work. after no solution, the call ended abruptly. We became more and more concerned and called a second representative who tried her best to assist and could not get us up and running. because of the concern with the schoolwork and other issues, we requested a supervisor. The call was escalated to a third representative named Charles, who initially was in my opinion , not happy that I was asking for a credit above $10 offered. After going back-and-forth, he provided a small increase in credit but we spent a lot of time to get there. To my surprise, after that discussion, he went above and beyond by asking if he could assist in trying to get us setup and running. After following his instructions and using Google mesh, my husband was able to get us up and running due to instructions from Charles. Therefore, I felt he went above and beyond because after he gave us a credit, he could've just hung up, but he did not. He chose to listen to my concerns about not having Internet service. I tried to explain that I moved out of my place on Oct 1 so I shouldn't be getting charged the lady started to argue with me. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up in my face. I am admittedly torn in writing this review. On one hand, the internet service I receive from Spectrum is quite good. The speed is completely acceptable and the service is reliable -- rarely do I experience an outage. Additionally, when I have visited the Spectrum Porter Ranch store (twice in the past year), I have been assisted by Robert Ortega who I find to be knowledgable, engaging, and efficient. In both instances he has been sympathetic to my situation and worked to ensure my satisfaction. However, my dissatisfaction (and the reason for a two star review) is the manner in which Spectrum bundles and charges for services. To be specific: When I went to the store in September, 2022 my only service with Spectrum was internet -- for which I was paying in excess of $100/month. Robert was able to reduce that amount to $75/month by adding (which, of course, makes no sense) the ability to watch certain (operative word certain) channels on my phone or tablet. That special offer was set to end at the end of August, 2023. I therefore went to the store (again was able to work with Robert) to see what my options were. This is where Spectrum's convoluted policies are, quite frankly, horrible. If I wanted to keep what I had (apparently there had been some sort of positive (for me) glitch so I was able to view certain channels (e.g., SNLA) that I shouldn't have been able to), the cost would increase to $175/month. If I wanted to drop everything except the internet (which I've had for years), the cost would increase to $105/month. If, however, I chose to keep the internet, drop the ability to watch TV on my mobile device, but add a landline (which I have no need for and do not want), the rate would remain the same $75/month. Robert, responding to my not wanting the landline, said that it was there if I needed/wanted it, but if I didn't it would simply be a notation on my account. Because of the cost savings, it made complete sense to do this -- despite the one-time $25 activation fee. It is absolutely unacceptable that one has to pay for bundled services -- when only a small percentage is desired. The best analogy for me is that when I go to the market to buy a quart of milk, the store doesn't require that I also buy a loaf of bread. And yet with Spectrum, if I want a particular TV channel, I would have to pay approximately $100/month for that option -- absolutely unacceptable. I will continue with Spectrum as my internet provider (for the reasons I stated at the outset of this review), but cannot, in good conscience, truly recommend them. read more

Tamara, has compassion filled with a listening ear when a customer is venting from getting an agent that is fairly new, (Customer knows when you ask for a SUPERVISOR and the agent transfer you to a Lead) Now, it is time to get your mind right because the "Lead," comes on the phone and tells you they are a Supervisor, and you know it is NOT from the Unprofessionalism from the lead that thinks they are all that and a bag of potato chips. Until, you ask for the boss that is over them and reality sinks in the customer is disappointed and annoyed from the arrogance of a want to be Supervisor, (The One from Denver, Colorado) and who the customer asked for in the first place from the lead , (Leading Every Aspect Disappointing) transfers the call to the Real Deal ~ Big Boss with the hot sauce~ Tamara, located in North Carolina. Supervisor, Tamara, from North Carolina, this customer from California, would like to give you a huge, "Shout Out," for cleaning up the mess from the obnoxious Lead and the New Agent, (He was extremely respectful and instead of saying, "Excuse Ma'am I am in training. He was faking and shaking like he was an expert and placing me on hold", and transferring me to a Lead and I asked specifically for a Supervisor." Lol's ~I must give the new agent an, "A", for being respectful and an, "E", for Effort. The Lead from Colorado gets a "F", for frustrating the customer when he knew he was NOT a Supervisor and that was exactly what I asked the agent for in the first place. "It is what it is." Tamara, from North Carolina, Apologies, that you had to clean up the mess from the new agent and lead. The worst part I was on the call for approximately 30 minutes between the new agent and lead before they finally gave me who I requested, "Supervisor." Tamara, you need to be a traveling trainer and start at Colorado. I'm just saying.. (Smile) I researched Spectrum Company reviews and the over Reviews~ 1 1/2, 2, blessing if you see a 3 or higher. That's disappointing. What have we done wrong in today's society with training employees? What is Spectrum motto or should I ask, "Code of Ethics?" Tears falling from my eyes and that is real. Tamara, your customer service as a Supervisor was, "Legendary!" (Please take time to listen to the call from the new employee and the lead in calibration. They need remedial training) Professionalism, begins at the top of the melting pot. I hope the Leads supervisor does not have the same qualities. I was extremely hurt, humiliated and disappointed. Especially, as a long time customer that has NEVER been disconnected. Always, in good standing. Even through the COVID-19. I still paid my bill. Lead had absolutely no empathy. Supervisor, Tamara, thank you for your, "Excellence", and abundance of Empathy and Realness in resolving my issue. I am forever grateful. Lead must remember, without customer theirs no jobs. That exactly how I remind myself when I go to work. It is call, "Count Your Blessings", and it is obvious Supervisor Tamara, is counting hers from the, "Awesome Personality and Kind Words," she said while resolving the issue.
