I have had issues with my internet speed since September 17, 2017, so I called technical support to have the problem addressed. The first service tech confirmed that the internet speed was normal based on a hard line test directly to the router, and that if wanted a better range to have an improved signal in other rooms to purchase a nighthawk router because spectrum does not provide the best routers. Which I couldn't understand why I would have to purchase my own router to receive the speed I supposed to receive from Spectrum when I submit a monthly payment for that expected speed with the router provided. Yet I submitted, and left it alone. Then the speed continued to get slower, and slower where I could not even stream one device or use my laptop with an extremely slow speed, so I called again on September 17 for another service tech to address the problem. When he arrived on September 18, he was extremely rude, which was not the customer service I expected to receive. He switched out the router and gave me a better one, which I don't understand why the first tech didn't do. Nor do I understand why not give me the best router they have initially versus a secondary one in the first place. When I took him to the location of the router, he flipped a switch with out my permission that goes to our ceiling fan, which resulted in our ceiling fan shorting out. I'm a sales consultant for a solar company, and when I enter a homeowners residence, if it is dark in the room I do not go off and start turning on lights in their home. It's not place, I may request for some light which I leave it to the homeowners discretion as to which lights he wants to turn on. But I don't go in simply flipping switches in their home. When I brought to the technicians attention that when he flipped the switch that shorted out the ceiling fan, he did not apologize, or attempt to rectify the situation, he simply disregarded it. If he would've simply ask for some light, I would've opened up the curtains or use lights, I always use to brighten up the room. But he didn't ask he took it upon himself to just flip switches, that he has no idea what they go to. When I called Spectrum to notify them of what transpired, the turn around time, was great to speak to a representative was great, less than 24 hrs. Ricky was the first individual to reach out to me was amazing, she was understanding, sympathetic to my situation and helpful. She represents customer service should be given by a company. However, Jim Bush a local supervisor who reached out to me in regards to the claim was very rude, un-compassionate, and completely defensive of the technician. He stated that it could've happened to anyone, and questioned me on if I was simply submitting this claim because were a company, and if it was anyone else would I expect them to pay for it. I was speechless at the way he consistently spoke to me. I expressed to him that no one comes in my home and just starts touching things that do not belong to them, or start flipping switches without at least asking me first. And if they did and that happened they would've at least apologized and stated what happened. I never even received an apology for the incident, which would spoke volume. Jim Bush, is supposed to come take pictures tomorrow at 10 am which, I not looking forward to having someone with that character in my home. I'm really an not impressed with his level of customer service as a reflection Spectrum. As I previously stated, if I enter into someones home and I touch something, I have no business touching and it results in damage, then I take responsibility. I truly hope that the final outcome has a better result. read more
