For a few weeks, our telephone land line did not work. Spectrum resolved the issues. However, my…read morewife and I decided to cancel the line. On contracting the company, the agent offered a special: transfer the land line and phone number to a cell phone and reduce monthly costs about $60. I accepted the offer. The new phone came promptly. I received several messages to activate the phone. When we tried to activate, the agent could not find the account number, and referred us back to the land line department. The land line folks told us that we have to restore the land line to be able to transfer to the mobile department. And, of course, we are told the phone would be added to the current bill. It appears that the 'left hand' does not know what the 'right hand' is doing. And now all we have is a non-working cell phone and phone number! The company needs to figure out how to resolve this issue and let us know. Even worse, employees have no interest in learning basic information about "other" services. This is a very poor way to run a business. In attempting to resolve this issue, it took multiple phone calls to both mobile and landline areas. I also received email messages saying "Action Required: Contact Us to Complete Your Number Transfer" However, the message does not say which office is experiencing the "issue." Nor does the message say what the issue is. It is very uninformative. This message appears to be sent even when no action is required by the customer. Again, this is a very poor way to run the business. My wife and I discussed transferring our mobile numbers from another provider to Spectrum. With all the challenges just transferring a land line number to mobile, I guess it would be even worse transferring from one company to Spectrum. One company would blame the other for any issues. Note: Generally, Charter Spectrum does a good job. My rating is only for the recent interactions noted above.

I was on the phone for 30 minutes just trying to cancel my land line, which I have pa[d for for unwittingly for 7 years. She told me if I canceled it they would have to upgrade my internet and they would send me new equipment. Since the service was at my cottage and it was closed for the winter, I explained that no one was there to except it. We went round and round and I finally asked her to cancel my service. She said I'd have to drop off the equipment. I explained that there was nobody there to drop it off. I ended up paying the whole amount and will never use the again. I I could have given them 0 stars I would have.

I was an AT&T customer for many years for both internet, phone, and mobile WiFi . I switched to Google Fiber the minute it became available in my area because of constant billing creep but I kept my mobile WiFi "brick" for secure internet when traveling. This billed automatically to a credit card with autopay that ensured the bill was paid on time every single month. Unused data GBs don't roll over from month to month and I haven't used the Brick in a year but just noticed that the billing increased from $82 to $107/mo - several months ago without notice. I called AT&T to cancel and asked for a refund of last months charges (they can see that I haven't used it AT ALL in a year) but they refused to refund me a cent of the charges after I spent 2 hours on hold shuffled to 3 different people - thanks for wasting not only my money but my time. Don't use AT&T (unless you have a bunch of money to burn)!
