We had below mediocre internet quality. I put up with it for a few years. The cost tripled. They lowered it a touch when I called to complain. Finally moved and cancelled the service--but since it was 2 days into the new billing month, they still charged me the full month. I call and chat to complain, and the only answer is to say it's in the agreement. T&C's--you're on the line for it. Here's the customer service: "Spectrum is a monthly subscription service and as we do not have contracts or early termination fees we do not prorate for services. We do advise you of this on your monthly billing statement and also in the terms and conditions of service when activating service and also when upated you are sent a notice on your billing statement" Every other utility prorates. This review is about Spectrum marketing in local grocery stores. Do not give them your phone number or address. You are there trying to get supplies for your family, and a Spectrum salesperson pulls you up and starts pushing sales to have you sign up right away. This happened to me. I refused because my email was tied to another major ISP and distributed to my friends and family. I am not interested in signing up for Spectrum. During the conversation, the salesperson took my phone number and address, with the excuse of checking if a promotion was available in my neighborhood. The next thing I know, Spectrum equipment is delivered to my door and I am signed up for a service. I had to call and cancel the service. Spectrum might be a very high-speed ISP. But please don't play such tricks to sign up for new accounts. I know these are third-party salespeople. But they are selling Spectrum service using questionable tactics. Spectrum must hold them to some sales ethics. Or get 1 star reviews. read more

This has been a terrible experience ftom the minute i signed up for this service. Incorrect communication at the start... delayed installation ... which couldn't be done myself since a "box" was not at my house and had to be tied in to my neighbors "TAP". Had to get permission from my neighbor to get into his yard, which took a couple of days.. Then the line they laid in my yard, couldn't be buried by the guy who made the installation and he never put the order in to bury the line. This was over 12 days ago. I called in to put in a work order and was told someone would call me back. This never happened so I called again. The tech came out today and he can't bury the line because it has to go under some concrete. And now I'm getting a notification that it could take up to 10 days. This is just bull crap and I am done. I'm going back to my old Internet service which cost more, but Spectrum is not worth the hassle read more

internet went off. Called them technician came but no resolve. Technician said it's outage issue please don't call or create another service request as we can't do anything at this point. Made several calls but all they do is send technician that can't fix the issue. 5 days past like that, felt like living in under developed country. I was promised credit that never granted. Their system does not even show outage for 5 days and therefore no credit. Irony is the entire block was out of internet and they don't have any records of complaints and service calls made by us or neighbors. I came here to return the internet router because I purchased my own router while the old Spectrum router has been kept charging me more than $5 per month recurring fee just for renting the router. Before I came to this location, I called Spectrum customer support, who clearly stated that the simple return of the router to a nearby location will work and be a smooth process. Well, I drove all the way and waited for about 30 minutes because the Spectrum representatives simply did not have enough permission and knowledge to handle my request. At last, the representative who seems be a manager said that they cannot do anything because they simply don't have the "legacy" code that is tied with my bundle. I said, "why can't you just take the router here and you call Spectrum to work with them since you are a middle layer representing Spectrum service." He said that he cannot, and I have to call the Spectrum to work with the legacy code. Why the heck did I have to waste more than 30 minutes due to this miscommunication, a lack of sufficient trainings, and misalignment with the Spectrum services? read more

Spent two hours trying to cancel my account over the phone. They made me come to the store to turn in my modem they provided. As soon as I walk in I get yelled at about needing a mask and it is a city mandate( not true in any way shape or form) So I go to my car to get a mask. The employee was insanely rude from the start. Terrible company. Paying $110/month for internet which when tested is half as fast as advertised. Finally switched to Verizon 5G, which costs $50/month and is 2.5 times faster. So happy to get this company out of my life. Then you have to go give them "their" router back and (because if you mail it in they'll claim they didn't receive it and keep charging you $110/month for service you're no longer receiving) and you run into their infamously terrible customer service. They'll overcharge you and lie about their internet speed for years and still treat you like shit when you just want to give them their equipment. read more
