Spectrum, oh,...Charter, service is fat, happy, and spoiled. Just like many other companies that are no longer here, nor needed. They text and/or call daily. Past due amount rolls over, so before that is due, they harass, nag, and beg. Not worth the "services!" They harass the elderly, then lie about who is doing it and why! They will not be here, canceled! Call, wait on billing, speak to the computer,finally, and then what? Not MY department , ADELL! ADELL in billing, not collections! Go hock your new customer specials, and screw them over too! I asked to NOT receive calls at 8:00 a.m. to the elderly! ADELL says they can do this? I am on Central time! I live in a small town and don't have many choices other than Spectrum. I'm forced to use it because my security system requires a large bandwidth. This morning, I saw Spectrum workers in front of my house and immediately asked them if what they were doing was going to cause Wifi to go out, because my services go out frequently and I was worried. They said no, they were working on TV cables. 30 minutes to 1 hour later, my wifi went out. I went outside and told the workers what happened. They said that they didn't cut any cables and would have to call their supervisor. I called Spectrum and they did send someone out immediately. But, he only told me that the workers had cut the main line (they lied) and that technicians would be out within 48 hours to fix the cable. So I have to wait for 2 days to get this fixed when THEY cut my line. And of course I'm still waiting. Today is Thursday, and I know from experience that if they don't fix it today or tomorrow, they won't fix it over the weekend. Spectrum has the worst customer service of any company I've ever worked with in my life, and I'm 57 years old. Their customer service themed commercial is a lie. I tried to file a written complaint on their website, and of course there is no way to do that so here I am. As soon as technology catches up and I have another choice for wifi service, I'm going to switch and NEVER come back to Spectrum. read more

I do not believe I have ever encountered reviews of a company or service rated with so many ones and so negatives. However, I do believe that is the proper rating for this company. This company used to be labeled only as Charter. I would believe that that they rebranded the company as Spectrum due to the reputation of Charter. I have not had any service provided by spectrum (AKA spectrum/charter) except for internet for many years. The only reason I have spectrum/charter internet is that they are the only cable internet service available in my area. My recent experience was for cell phone service and I am experiencing the same old corrupt company I encountered many years back. Their agents will lie and deceive you on a level which I have never experienced and will lie and deceive you in every way possible way in order to get your money. I recently tried their cell phone service along with an iPhone se. The cell phone was much to small and not compatible with my hands and they agreed to accept return of the phone. I returned the phone and cancelled my cell service with spectrum. The phone was returned in pristine condition as I had only used the device for a few days. I know the phone was in perfect condition and I am convinced that spectrum/charter tried to pull a retribution type stunt as I would not subscribe to their cellular phone service. They were supposed to provide me a complete refund of my monies. They did not!! They attempted to charge my credit card $235 as they stated that they could not resell the phone. They stated that the phone had a smear on the screen which it did not. After discussions with several agents and the last person I spoke with was Dale to which he promised that he would have a higher-level manager return my call within 48 hours who would be Supervisor Rodney or Troy and would call within 48 hours. That was December 22nd and I am still awaiting that call. All of the spectrum/charter employees I have encountered will lie and attempt to deceive you with the intent of tiring you and stalling until you simply go away. I have contacted my credit card company and they have not allowed charter to charge this scam to my card. I will not give up and succumb to a spectrum/charter scam and pay them anything. If my credit card company pays the $235, I will not be responsible for paying that fraudulent charge. I have had numerous problems with the recent spectrum/charter tv service which is a reminder of my past bad experiences with that deceptive company. Please be advised that spectrum/charter has a sordid past of scamming people back to March 28 2009. The company went public and the stock soared and all of a sudden, the stock began a death spiral which I am sure was a planned part of their deceptive business plan. They drove the stock to zero and the investors lost billions of dollars. I was one of those investors which lost approximately $35,000. A short time afterwards, they again went public for the second time with the stolen monies. The bottom line is that spectrum/charter stole the investors' money. I talked with the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and they informed me that unfortunately what spectrum/charter did was shameful but legal. I am advising everyone that spectrum/charter is a corrupt and dishonest company which should be avoided at all costs. I am posting this blurb on every available website with the intention of saving everyone their money. This company is disgraceful and will rip you for every cent they can. Frequent outages (and we wfh in tech support), they only prorate bills if the outage is greater than 4 hours (which is half a work day), very difficult to get help through chat or phone, but as it stands they are (probably intentionally) the only provider in our area so they can afford to be as awful as possible. In fact one tech support person told us discretely about how our modem was defective and charter was aware but not trying to replace because of cost (the modem would experience packet loss after operating continuously for a bit and would drop the connection). If you have a choice, don't go with this one. If you have Cspire and Windstream thank the internet gods. read more

Spectrum landline voicemail terminated without notice after several years of use. Spectrum issues a false message that it has not been set up, so I am unable to receive or retrieve the voicemail that I pay for. Customer service (after a half hour phone wait) gave me the toll free number of the manufacturer of my home telephone. Spectrum fraudulently charges me for a service I do not receive, and cynically routes me to Panasonic's 800 number. Spectrum insults you by long phone waits, plays adverts for other services, misrepresents its capabilities, and makes problems worse by offering solutions that do not work, making your problem worse. read more

Went with Charter Cable almost a year ago and got the packages that I liked because of the programs that were incorporated into those packages. Now they seem to have changed the packages they add and subtract your favorite channels without telling you. So if you want to get your channels back you have to add a $10 fee to go up to another package!! Now when I wanted to call my sales rep from the Gardendale office they all changed their numbers so you can't reach them when you want to ask questions! When you call their main number you get a runaround. I think Charter needs to wise up or they are going to lose a lot more customers!! Will not be using this company again!!!! read more

I can't give a star with a clear conscience, every week something new happens this week they extended their maintenance window an extra 4 or 5 hours until 10:00AM out of the blue there are very willing to scroll stupid shit across the screen to advertise or make more money but they can't notify their customers that their going to loose anything they'd set to record and everything that's already recorded. Since they closed the store closest to me it now takes even longer to get service. The Wi-Fi goes out every single day, the internet AND cable go out in every single storm even light rain. I mean at what point is every ad 100% lying to me, and at what point is it sueable? At less than 75% percent reliability? At 100% signal loss in the rain? At 20mb/s when I pay for 60? Just moved to the outskirts of Birmingham AL and if I had a choice I certainly would not be using this cable company. My elderly grandmother pays roughly $30 for ten channels. All of these channels have a poor picture on a new tv. We understand that the next step is to pay more money to get HD. I guess we wish we had options. We love the product, but loathe having to deal with either calling, or technicians. We were scheduled for 3-5 one day, and the tech didn't make it. Upon calling at 6 pm we were advised that he was en route. He arrived around 8pm and we gone after 9. We've had several issues with the required digital boxes not activating, as well as having increasing issues with service. Loss of internet here and there during weekday afternoons, and cable outages more and more. Yesterday, the entire guide said "no data" all day, so it's not like it was loading, it just wasn't there. The worst company I have ever had to deal with. This is now my 3rd day of waiting for them to hook up my cable. The first day they said that they arrived at 10 am and no one was home. When in fact both my husband and I were home . I was pulling out my driveway at 10:00 am to leave for work and my husband was doing work outside the house. Funny how we both missed the charter truck. We then had to reschedule . The new time was from 8 am to 10 am. I begun calling at 8:05am. Was told repeatedly that I shouldn't worry someone would be at my house to hook up the cable by 10:00 am. I called every 30 min and was told the same thing. So at 11:47 I had had enough and got very loud with them. I then had someone call me from a Georgia number trying to find out where my tech could be. At around noon I recieved another call from the same guy in Georgia to tell me that there was some sort of misunderstanding and unfortunately they would not be able to hook up my cable and that I would have to reschedule yet again . So here we are on day 3 of my misadventure with charter communications . It is now 2:08 and I still wAiting for a tech. They said they would be here between 1 and 3 today. The problem with that is I have to leave for work at 3 I told this to the Georgia guy yesterday and he assured me that their would be a tech at my house at 1:00. So much for his lies. So at 3:05 I will call charters again to see where oh where can my tech be. Why is it that we have an office here in Alabama but Everytime I called it's to some other state or country. Why is it that I can't seem to talk to the office here in Alabama where my tech is. read more

THE worst customer service every. Internet drops signal consistently. Have called customer service and talked on Avg. 2 hour per call. Found out they need to update their wires to our neighborhood. Our neighborhood Association met and we all experience same problem! Found out charter said it would cost to much to resloved issue so we're going to see how many service calls it takes to come out to my house & fellow neighbors so maybe it may cheaper for them to actually do something about the issue cause I know it cost them money to come out here and tell me the same BS everytime. I won't even go into the subject of Charter ONLY providing 1080i reception when we all have 1080p And 4k televisions. Time for charter to up their game. We were pleased with our charter service until this year. I had 4 scheduled appointments (over 6 weeks) to resolve issues that could not be remotely corrected. At least 2 of the appointments were either delayed or missed by Charter. I had 11 days of interrupted service. During the most recent incident, the remote corrections did not work so the agent scheduled an appointment between 1:00 and 3:00. At 3:30 I called to inquire and was told my appointment was tomorrow between 8:00-10:00. I told the agent I would never agree to that time because I would not be home. The Charter representative credited my account by $22.00. If you add up the hours on the phone, rearranging my schedule to be home and the interrupted service I believe Charter needs to credit my account for 308 hours@$10/hr: $3080. The agents and technicians were professional, respectful and tried to be accommodating. Charter has a problem with organization and communication within their departments. That is a management problem. read more

Caution! Incompetent and misleading company. Switched to spectrum mobile because I was told that I could retain my current phone with service to spectrum. I asked this question specifically, twice. Agreed to keep my phone and order a new phone for my wife. Upon arrival of new phone I realized I had not been sent a new sim card for my phone. Called Spectrum and a different agent informed me that my phone would not work, had to order a new one. Immediately returned the phone and was credited with a portion of my initial payment. Called Spectrum requesting a full refund since misrepresentation on their part was only reason I agreed to switch. Was told on two different phone calls this would happen. Never did! Upon third call I was finally put with a supervisor named Chris. Kept me on line asking several questions repeatedly. Was told he had to charge me the restocking fee. Offered to put me with another department but at this point I've grown tired of the endless conversations. Not worth the trouble. I've been with Spectrum over 20 years and they could care less how they treat customers. As soon as a viable alternative for internet becomes available, like so many others, I'll be dumping Spectrum! WORST SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I signed up for service upon moving into my new home. It was installed on April 30, 2018. That same day the service stopped working. I called into the service number and had to go through an automated system that reset the box. It worked for about an hour and then stopped working again. The internet and tv were out. We waited and called in again the following day, bc we were moving. Then we were told there was an outage in our area and no technician would be deployed until the outage was resolved. The outage effected all services. This went on for a MONTH!!!!! After 9 phone calls, speaking to countless employees, and wasting a ton of my precious time that I could've been spending with my family, our issue still isn't resolved to this day. The company is only willing to credit me $60 out of $252. THIS IS ROBERY!!! They want me to pay for services that weren't working by no fault of mine. They can't even make it right!!!
