SPECTRUM Internet!!! If you have it get rid of it. If you don't have it - DO NOT GET IT!!! I have had better luck getting a correct drive-thru order at McDonald's. I have had better luck with office printers. Paid for 1Gig ($55 per month). Great for the first couple of years. Don't know what happened (doesn't matter) but it must have been infected with the equivalent of an Internet enlarged prostate. Speeds dropped, regular interruptions and having to reboot (go again) throughout the day. Two techs came out. Ran new cable and replaced the modem. No improvement. I called ATT and got 1Gig for $35 per month. Too easy, saved $20 per month. And it's fiber and very, very fast. Called SPECTRUM to cancel. Customer service rep suggested an "account hold" in lieu of cancellation. Said I could keep the modem and come back to SPECTRUM anytime. Okay, why not? Who knows? Might happen. Couple of hours later I get an email from SPECTRUM. "Your account is on hold for a small monthly fee." I called SPECTRUM. Different customer service rep says $5 per month. I tell him the other guy never disclosed the "small" fee. He apologizes and says he will cancel the plan. Couple of hours later I get the same email, "Your account is on hold for a small monthly fee." I'm a Christian. Looking back, I should have immediately dropped to my knees and asked God for strength. I did not. I called SPECTRUM. BTW, if you need the number let me know. Oh, and if you have to call be sure to have your address and security code. I had to think when they first asked me for the code. If I ever get Stage 100 Alzheimer's I will still remember the code. The customer service rep apologized for what happened and assured me the Internet would be cancelled. He added, "However, if we cancel your Internet your mobile service will be increased $20 per line." Me, "It is not a bundled plan." Him, "Sorry but..." Me, "That's fine. I'll get another carrier." That was two days ago. I call ATT and they add mobile to my Internet plan. ATT Internet (1 Gig) and two lines for less than $90. AND, the Internet has not dropped speed. No rebooting TV, fast downloads AND they just gave me another discount for being an old person!!! It gets better. Thursday, July 2nd, ATT ports my two phones. SPECTRUM confirms my numbers have been moved to ATT. HOWEVER, phones not working. Yesterday, 10am, I go to the ATT store in Hurst. Two people, store manager and one other guy are the only ones working (three people called in "sick"). Hour and a half later it's my turn. Collin, the store manager, tells me the phones are locked. Both phones were paid in full one month after ordering (one year ago). Went to the SPECTRUM store around the corner. ONE person working!!! Same story - employees called in "sick." 30 minutes later I have the phones unlocked and go back to the ATT store. Thank God Collin saw me come in and I didn't have to wait. BUT, phones still locked. I said to myself, "I picked the wrong week to quit smoking." Got home, got on my laptop and once again I saw another example of God's sense of humor. Email from SPECTRUM. "Instructions to unlock your phones." Four steps. Insert a non-SPECTRUM sim. Restart, activation code, blah, blah, blah. Back to the ATT store. 30 minutes later phones unlocked. It's almost 3pm. FIVE hours!!! TWO days no phone!!! I know I have left out some details. I also know it's because a part of brain (that I cannot afford to lose) leaked out of my ears during this drama. Bottom line, SPECTRUM = Be Afraid, be very afraid!!! Full disclosure. I was very satisfied with their Internet and mobile. Was with them for three years. Would recommend them all the time. Having read some of the reviews, I wondered if they were talking about the same place. Anyway, Spectrum's location on Hulen must have closed as the location on Camp Bowie was listed as the closest to where I live. Since I have never before been to this location, I had a little trouble finding it. Good thing I came when I did. There was a line of people waiting for service, and the line quadrupled in the few minutes after I arrived. Seems like the customers were taken care of in rapid succession without comprising quality. I was more than pleased with the help given to me. All I needed was to swap out my internet modem and wireless router. A lot of other people were doing the same thing. The clerk apologized for the wait in swaping out the equipment. I didn't care as long as it was done properly. Great job! read more

Extremely unprofessional they could have checked the order before placing the order the girl who was helping us ordered a silver color for my husband instead of a blue color and my husband had to take it this store doesn't do anything to help out get the right order n place wrong orders. Watch out for the customer service team they are careless and not accurate in placing orders. I just moved from nyc n we I don't even drive and we came driving all the way n this happened N it's crazy no connector was there in the new phone box in the iPhone 15 and no headphones nothing and the girl never told us anything about it. If it weren't for the decent internet rate they gave me I would not be giving them my business. They got 2 people working the entire store currently. I would definitely not recommend. It's a hard location to find. Other than that, when I came in there was 3 workers(4 including the manager) and 1 person being helped and I was waiting, no one acknowledged me or anything. I usually don't come into the store for this reason but I needed a modem right away. I finally asked how long the wait would be and the associate said I could come up there...like were they waiting for me to ask? I advised the manager that no one acknowledged me or said "one moment" when I came into the store and he said it's because hey were busy, as if I was asking them to roll out a red carpet and sing a song. I would definitely go out of my way in the future to go to another location. Customer service is important and this stores employees are horrible at it. read more

I would be giving a higher rating if I was only considering how Spectrum services work. My problem is the absolute nightmare I've had to go through to get things working at an acceptable level. They also found a way to weasel out of re-imbursing me through the phone line buyout program because there were shipping problems that caused the phone to arrive after the 7-day window had expired. They said to contact FedEx and have them re-imburse me since the shipping problems were their fault. I started with getting gigabit fiber optic internet service installed. It took four scheduled installation appointments to actually get it installed. No one showed up for the first two and the tech who arrived on the third declared he couldn't do it and left without even getting out of the vehicle. After installation the crew burying the cable cut it and I was without service for five days. Quality of service? Spectrums system shows a full gigabit coming into the modem but somehow 400 megabits of speed is lost between the Spectrum router and my devices (tested on each being the only active device to make sure another device wasn't slowing things down). Like a fool, I still went ahead with transferring my mobile service. A critical feature on one phone was disabled as soon as it was activated and the only option was to replace the phone. My Motorola Edge+ would not transfer from Verizon but Spectrum offered to sell me the exact model to replace it with. I passed and got something else. Spectrum's bring your own device program seems to be a sham. I already mentioned the Motorola Edge+ that couldn't be put on their service even though they sell the exact model. I also cannot bring over three tablets (Samsung Tab S8 and Tab S9 and a Lenovo Flex Windows Tablet) and will have to purchase from new ones if I want any tablets on the account. That won't work for me since they offer multiple iPads but only ONE other tablet. Now I will have to maintain a Verizon account to keep the tablets I have connected or stick three perfectly functional tablets in the closet and buy three lesser Samsung tablets or iPads. One more thing: One of the selling points to offset the anemic data plans Spectrum offers is their data access points that are "all over town." You can stop at any of these and do any downloads on your phone without incurring data charges. I'm in Northeast Texas. The closest access point is in Mesquite, TX which is 150 miles away. If I wanted to go to another one the closest alternatives are Houston, Little Rock, AR or Jackson, MS. There aren't even any in Louisiana that are north of the New Orleans area. Had I known I was in for three weeks of stress and frustration to get to where I am now I would have told the Spectrum salesman to get off of my property. Thanks to Spectrum's inability to live up to the offers they make I have a Spectrum account and will still have to maintain a Verizon account to keep needed tablets active, which will offset all of the savings that enticed me to switch services. Save yourself the trouble stay with your current carrier or chose anyone but Spectrum. read more

Would give this store a negative star. My apartment complex is requiring that everyone use spectrum and put the wifi box in every unit. But we have to go pick up the TV box at the store. Went in and the manager cathy said I would have to pay for the box which is not what my apartment said. I didn't agree she got angry keep telling to back away from her area. As I'm trying to call the apartment complex which I can not hear over her. After I step back she calls me a "big ass". I told her that she had no right to call me names and she said it again. She got so angry, she look as she was about to hit me. Another co worker had to take her to the back room, to try to cool her off. It didn't seem to work. After numerous texts calls and voicemails I've received from them about a bill that's attached to my phone number that I now have and I have no idea who was the previous owner. I have tried calling Spectrum to have my number taken off this account explaining to them this number no longer belongs to their customer they are trying to reach they tell me they can't get into the account to make any changes without a security code. The first time I called and thought they resolved it they did not need it. How would I have a security code for an account that's not mine ? He argues with me when I ask to speak to a manager then puts me on hold and doesn't return . I'm trying to get resolution to something that should not be met with resistance unless there's some hidden agenda they want to bombard my phone with spam texts and calls. hmm. Is it possible since they have my number that gives someone.. probably a third party they have sold to full access to my personal information in my phone because the number is what they sell and not the account or both? Very bothered to say the least by the possibility. read more
