I went for every test they offered because it's cheaper to catch something early than to walk into walls later. Exams here are priced about the same as anywhere else, but the frame selection? It's like a fashion show for your face. Paula was super helpful, and the tech, whose name I forgot, was so kind and careful you could tell he treats every lens like a baby bird. You'll pay a bit more for glasses here, but these are your eyes, not a gas station souvenir. I learned that the hard way at a discount place where my glasses looked great but reading a stop sign became a group project. If you want to actually see what you're doing in life again and not just squint hopefully, go see Dr. Farmer. Worth every penny and every awkward "one or two?" moment.

Today was the first time we visited Dr. Bobst and we were both impressed by the practice. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. Dr. Bobst himself was personable and quite knowledgeable. The regular optician was not in today and we were hoping to get the ball rolling on new frames for my husband since his glasses are broken. Even in the optician's absence, the staff was able to at least get everything measured so that the optician had his measurements on Monday to order the glasses first thing. It was very helpful and we really appreciated the great customer service in times when it seems like that's the lowest priority for a lot of places. Needless to say, we have officially found the place we will be going for all of our vision needs.

My trial contact lens took 3 weeks to arrive, picked them up with NO instructions. I've never worn contact lenses. Didn't even have right or left on them. Well I couldn't see anything up close including my phone so I told them I'm not wearing them. Made appointment a week and a half later, no idea what for no one told me anything. Arrived at my appointment told the person who greeted me that I'm not sure why I'm here, she said she wasn't sure either. Told her I don't have the contact lens in because I couldn't see up close, she said ok. Fast forward to the Dr. Told him about all I just explained. He said they are multi focus I said I have no idea when I called the technician said they were not. He said let's have a look, I'm like I didn't wear them. I had no idea what this appointment was for, no one told me to wear them. He then laughed at me, like he couldn't believe I didn't wear them to this appointment. Unbelievable, no communication at all. Will not be going back.

The prices are pretty competitive with other places. I never have to wait long and it's a nice clean environment. Reporting back on my interaction with Dr. Beiling from February 3, 2021…read more I called Medical Mutual (MM) to find out what was holding up my prior authorization request. They stated that Dr. Beiling's office failed to answer a question about whether I was sensitive to a preservative used in eye drops. MM stated that they faxed a form to Medina Vision and Laser Center (MVLC) on January 12, 2021 at 2:25 pm. requesting them to call their 800 number or fax the form back. Without this being done by January 18, 2021, the prior authorization request would need to start over. The reason that MM wanted this question answered was that I was prescribed non-generic eye drops that are shipped to me in sterile vials on a 30 day supply. If I am not believed to be sensitive to the preservative, MM's formulary is that generic eye drops must be used in a "next step therapy" procedure, meaning that a generic is used if it shows similar effectiveness to the non-generic eye drops. I met face-to-face with Dr. Beiling concerning this matter. She denied ever receiving the MM fax at their office. She challenged me to have MM supply her with the fax. I went back to my work and plan on calling MM to show proof they sent it. I queried Dr. Beiling on why I was prescribed non-generic eye drops. She stated that she prefers to treat my condition with non-generic eye drops. In her favor, she had no information given to her that non-generic eye drops would be covered or not covered. I will keep you apprised on this ongoing saga.

Posting this for both the westlake and lakewood office…read more After a months long saga I finally have a functional pair of glasses. It started out at their Lakewood location when I got my first pair of glasses that broke almost immediately. Fine. We reorder a new pair. I go in 3 weeks later to check in on the contacts. They haven't even reordered the glasses. So we try this again. Get the glasses 4 weeks later but they break again. Request a brand new pair. Have to go to their Westlake office with larger selection. Charge me $50 for a "refitting" despite the fact they sold me crappy glasses. Wait another month for the new glasses. I call the Westlake office a month later and they apparently just came in and "are here for pickup." Go to the Westlake office and find out they are actually at the Lakewood office. At the Lakewood office and they say their opticians are very busy and we will need time to adjust the frames. By this point, my whole afternoon has been shot. I explain to the person that I am pretty frustrated after having been at this for over an hour and if they can get to things quicker. See on the opticians desk that the lady at the front desk messaged her on teams saying I needed a refitting and had a "huge attitude." Some of these things were not their fault. A lot of them are.
