I'm happy to add my voice to the chorus praising Specs by Kyla. Great selection of frames but what really sets them apart is their customer service. I have one prosthetic eye and they helped me find the exact right combination of tint and reflectivity that I needed to obscure it and still see well with my good eye. Extremely nice staff, friendly, warm and knowledgeable. Not inexpensive but worth every penny. read more

Hey Everyone! I just had the best experience of my life at Specs by Kyla. Listen up; I have been wearing glasses since I was six years old and have had the good, bad and ugly, well maybe not ugly. Specs by Kyla was an amazing experience! To the personal service and kindness given from beginning to end. Not to mention her knowledge and experience that made me feel comfortable and at ease choosing glasses. Specs by Kyla is truly a step above the rest in selections and service. I highly recommend Specs by Kyla. read more

Finally made the small journey to this perfect shop. Kyla met me at the door, made a number of recommendations very various designers. We trimmed it down and at the end, her love for one pair made me love them more. The sunglasses were well worth the price. She fit them to my face and even though the sun was setting, I had to wear them out. read more

Okay, everyone needs to know that Kyla is the sweetest person ever! I have never bought glasses from a shop aside from Costco, and I was getting tired of being boxed into buying the same boring looks every time. I heard from some others in the community that her shop was super cool, and they were not kidding! Kyla worked within my budget, and made my try-on appointment a whole experience! She has such a unique selection of frames to choose from, and she made my fiancé and I feel so welcome! She helped me pick out the most "me" glasses of all time, and for the first time ever, I am so excited to show them off and tell everyone all about Kyla's shop! I get compliments on them all the time and I don't know if I can ever bring myself to go to a different glasses shop again! Thank you Kyla!!! read more

If you need glasses and you want to have a fantastic experience getting them, you must head on over to Specs by Kyla. Not only does she have the most unique selection, but you're not rushed to find what you need and Kyla has a great eye for what looks and fits best on your face. I've struggled for hours to find the right frames in other shops. But, when I went here I was able to find the perfect frame in about 20 minutes. Another incredible part? My frames were ordered that day and arrived a week later! When I picked up the frames Kyla was wonderful about adjusting them, cleaning them and making sure everything was just right. After I left, I also found a very sweet thank you card tucked into my bag with my accessories. You're not going to get service like this or personal touches that are any better with a competitor. Do yourself a favor and give Kyla's a look! read more

This is my favorite place to get prescription sunglasses/ glasses. I had no luck at a couple of other places and was pleasantly surprised when I walked into Specs by Kyla. She had SO MANY options, and they were fun, stylish options, not outdated "been on the shelf for years" options. She took her time to find sunglasses she thought fit me, and we tried on a bunch. Kyla called my eye dr to get my prescription and filled out forms for my insurance to reimburse me for part of the cost. She made it SOOO easy. When they were ready, I came in, she adjusted them and made sure they fit correctly, and has continued to follow up and make sure I am happy. I will definitely be back! Thanks Kyla for all of your help. I definitely feel way cooler than I actually am in my new prescription sunglasses :) read more

Best experience, great selection of frames, and very stylish shop! Kyla is very personable and great at pairing her customers to awesome frames! Her customer service is fantastic and she is very attentive with following up! I loved her input with each pair of frames I tried since it is sometimes hard to find the perfect pair of prescription without actually wearing the prescription! I loved her honesty and effort to adjust frames to get the fit just right. She had selected a plethora of frames that she thought I'd like going by my face shape. Going through all of them was tough because most of them looked great, but I was able to find my match! I'm absolutely in love with how they look and how they fit. I had returned a few days later for minor adjustments and Kyla made my visit easy and brief! I'll definitely be returning in the future and will be recommending her to whoever I can. Thank you Kyla! read more

Hands down the best eyewear shop in SLO county. If you're looking for unique frames and sunglasses, this is the place to go. Well worth the drive to Atascadero! Their selection is really special--you'd have a really hard time finding these lines outside of LA or NY. Prices are quite reasonable, especially for the level of quality and fashion that you're getting. Kyla has a rare gift of being able to choose the perfect pair based on your look. Truly a VIP experience! read more

I just bought some awesome sunglasses from Kyla and I love them. She did a great job. She's very good at helping decide what looks good on a face which is so important when you go without a friend or family member. It's always hard to decide by yourself and she knows what works for different face shapes etc. Kyla is very knowledgeable and friendly. We had fun! She also has a nice variety of modern and interesting frames as well as classic styles. I'll be going back! read more

I rarely write reviews, but just can't say enough good things about Kyla and the outstanding service we received from her. Her shop is a hidden gem carrying the best selection of eyewear in SLO county. My husband and I recently bought five pairs of glasses--computer, reading, everyday and sunglasses--and Kyla went out of her way to help us with frame selection, fit and making sure the prescriptions were absolutely perfect! Kyla is one of those rare birds who is not only great at what she does, but her warmth and kindness make you feel like you've just made a new friend. I can't recommend her highly enough! I'm stoked to have a real optician in town who carries independent eyewear brands. Kyla is one of the most positive humans on the planet who is doing it right. I love the aesthetic of the shop, it's modern but inviting. She carries my favorite brands that are made here in America like Kala and Lowercase. I can't wait to bring my friends and family here. She's the best folks. Support your local independent optician and get your next cool pair of glasses here! read more

I did the unfortunate act of sitting on my glasses. Couldn't really find anyone locally for repairs but Specs By Kyla popped popped up in my search. Kyla promptly responded to my email inquiry. We scheduled a time to take a look at them. During the appointment, Kyla was great in setting expectations of what could be done and things to try. Thankfully, I didn't damage them as badly as I thought. Kyla took the time to ask me questions on how it felt on my face, what adjustments needed to made and listened to the feedback I attempted to articulate. I'm happy with the repair and the experience I had. read more

I highly recommend going to Kyla for your new glasses. She has all the latest styles and knows exactly what would look good on you. I've worn glasses for 40 years and have never had anybody say "I love your glasses". Now, several people have complemented me on my new glasses I got from Kyla. Yes, she encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone, just a little, and I'm so glad she did. She takes care of everything, contacts your doctor, does all the measurements, etc. As a bonus, she's a very nice person! Go see her! read more

I am so thankful we have a beautifully styled boutique offering unique and modern frame choices for both men and women here in Atascadero. I was first drawn to the sign SPECS by Kyla on the window facing Traffic Way and was curious about the business and owner. I made an appointment online (although I learned one is welcome to pop in as well) for a meet and greet. Kyla greeted me at the door with such warmth and welcomed me in. She is extremely knowledgeable about what glasses would work for my prescription and which frames would suit my face and style that I ordered glasses that very day. I am so pleased with my new glasses and with the personal experience from Kyla. Just go! You will have no regrets. read more

Great service!!! So happy with my glasses and great communication. Highly recommend!!

A gem!! The store and the owner! I purchased new glasses at Specs by Kyla a few weeks ago. I was in town visiting. First the store is light filled and full of THE most beautiful frames. Then there is Kyla, the owner. She has years of experience and a love for helping you find the right frame and fit on you. I have never had such a fun experience, plus ended up with the most perfect beautiful frames for me. I see frames on others and think they are what I want. Kyla helped me see why they were either too big or did not fit my face correctly for one reason or another. She also suggested some frames that were so pretty they were like art. Through that selection process with Kyla, I bought three frames: sunglasses, progressives, and a pair of super light frames for exercising. I just couldn't walk away from that third pair! She also adjusted two old pair that had never fit me properly that I purchased elsewhere years ago (and sat on many times). They fit great now and will work fine til my new frames come in. Kyla even helped me get my updated eye script from my Out of town eye Dr. I'm bringing my cousin from Sacramento next! Kyla is a gift to SLO county but she is also worth traveling to Atascadero for your eye glass adventure! It's a cute town with the best optical shoppe ever!! I'll update as soon as my glasses arrive. Kyla fit them before I left town, and will mail them to me. So excited for them to arrive!! read more

Both my husband and I have purchased several pairs of glasses from Kyla. She is so much fun, cheerful, and knowledgeable. Also, she has a knack for looking at your features and knowing what would compliment your face, and is delicately honest with her opinion on what you have chosen to try on (as to whether they work to enhance your face structure and looks); not just trying to sell you something. She is also willing to help you step out of your normal 'look' and spiff things up a bit with color or shape in frames (we know that because of the compliments our friends and family have subsequently made). After you have a week or so at home and work wearing your new glasses, she follows up and checks in to make sure you are happy. We have been to other places which are fine, but Kyla is well above that grade and makes the whole experience memorable. Thank you! read more

If you are looking for unique eyewear and being treated like a lister, drop by Specs in Atascadero. That's right, A-town! Kyla, owner/optician/eyewear fashionista, knows her glasses and what looks best on you. And she couldn't be nicer! I spent an enjoyable hour trying on all types of frame shapes and colors. She curates frames from around the world - France, Italy and Brooklyn. Finally, with Kyla's recommendation, we landed on my favorite two pairs. One for every day and one for working at the computer. Kyla took care of everything, calling my optician to get my prescription and sending in the insurance paperwork. A couple of weeks later, she called and said my glasses had arrived. Kyla fitted me with my new glasses with the same care and personal attention. I am absolutely thrilled with my choices. read more

I ordered a pair of sunglasses from Specs by Kyla a couple weeks ago. She helped me pick out some cute frames, took a few measurements and placed the order. Thanks, Kyla! read more

Caring, stylish, intuitive, hip, knowledgeable... these are just a few words to describe Kyla. I've been relying on her to help me find the best glasses for my face, lifestyle, and vision for over six years now. So happy she has her own shop now so she can bring us the best of the best. She puts up with my indecision in the most patient and reassuring way and made sure my trifocals(!) are aligned in all the sweet spots. My teen son received the same spot on recommendations, too, and sometimes asks if we can just pop in to say 'Hi' because "Kyla is cool." What are you waiting for? Visit Specs by Kyla!! read more
