My car brokedown the beginning of June and called AAA and they were a "preferred" shop. Finally got our car back July 12 and over $3,000 later. Drove the car home and on July 16th the car started acting up and would not speed up. Took to local shop by house and they found the ground wire to transmission and a 30 amp fuse in a 20 amp spot and recommened have the car look ate the engine control module look at by a dealership I paid to have the car towed to local dealership and they confirmed the engine control module needs replaced. Reached out to Auto choice Spearfish by phone and email mutiple times and I am not getting any response. This was a preffered shop from AAA and now I have a car they kept from the beginning of June to July 12th and it wont run and they are acting like its not on them. A family vacation to see Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, and the sights of western South Dakota came very…read moreclose to being a disaster, which was averted by the service of White's Canyon Ford and service manager Marc Weimer. After driving 3 days from California, we took a little side detour to Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Going up the hill, our van (a wheelchair adapted E-150) suddenly would not shift higher than 2nd gear. Instead of going into high gear, it would pop into neutral and suddenly over-rev. Nothing I could do would get that to change so we Googled the nearest Ford dealer, which was White's Canyon in Spearfish, SD...about 40 miles away. We limped it in, getting into the dealer around lunch time. Marc pulled a couple of strings to get our van looked at right away. Unfortunately, he had bad news...and worse news. Our van needed a new transmission (I suspect the lube shop that did the service before we left used the wrong transmission fluid). The dealer did not have a replacement in stock so one had to be ordered from Salt Lake City and would take about a week to arrive. Now we were looking at a lost vacation, a very expensive repair, and not knowing what was going to happen to us for the next week to ten days with a son in a very expensive and heavy wheelchair to deal with. Marc said not to worry, he was going to take us under his wing and do what he could to make sure we could at least still enjoy our vacation. He talked the owner into lending us a van, found us a place to rent a lightweight manual wheelchair (since we no longer had a wheelchair lift available to us), and promised to keep in touch to let us know when the replacement came in. Long story short, we still got to enjoy our trip...although it extended to 20 days instead of the 11 planned...they got the van fixed (it runs great, with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty), and a big, dark cloud of worry and disappointment was lifted from our heads. We left the dealership shaking hands and wearing smiles, thankful for the helpful service and compassion of the service staff at White's Canyon Ford.

It was late Friday afternoon in Deadwood and my car would not start. I opened the hood to check…read morethe battery connections. The connections were secure but I discovered that in addition to the electric fault the water pump was leaking. I called South Side Service and explained my predicament. Pat told me that if I could get the car to him he would look at it. I was able to push start the car and drive to his shop. Pat called around to locate a water pump and starter without success. There were no parts available. Not even in Rapid City. We drove the car up onto the hoist and Pat agreed to look at it Saturday. Pat called me Saturday morning and stated that he got the starter working by striking with a hammer to free the brushes. Not a permanent 'fix', but it started the car. Bravo! He was able to stop the water pump leak with a bottle of radiator stop leak. Another temporary 'fix' but good enough for me to try returning to Minneapolis. I stopped at the Chevy dealer in Rapid City to inquire about parts availability. The dealer also stated that there were no parts in the entire region. I continued on to Minneapolis without any problem. The point of this review is to commend Pat of South Side Service for doing what he could on a Saturday. Thank you, Pat. Lee

My truck threw a code arriving in Deadwood from MN and my exhaust filter was plugged, 16 miles left to go until it limited me to 50mph, FUBAR. Called Tyler and he was on it. Ran his diagnostics, ordered the parts and I was back on the road in 3 days. Service with a smile, I highly recommend!
