I needed to use up a gift card given to me from Christmas, so I made an appointment for a facial. This was my first time at Spavia and I'll be honest, looks can be deceiving. From the outside it looks small. But once you get past the front desk it's actually pretty big. I had an appointment for 6, but they called me at 4:45 and told me they had a cancellation and that I could come in earlier, so I took full advantage of that. Very relaxing atmosphere. I love me some Spavia! It had been far too long since I've enjoyed a facial so I checked around to see which day spas were offering fall themed treatments. Enter Spavia with their Perky Pumpkin Facial! (That's seriously the name. I love it.) I was able to book online, which is also a plus for me. The location is at the Summit mall which worried me a tad but not enough to cancel my treatment. I just didn't know what to expect and I really, REALLY, needed to just zen out in a day spa. I needn't have worried a bit. Although you are next to retail shops, Spavia is very much a day spa. The waiting room has relaxing music and warmed neck pillows, along with comfy chairs and a couch. There is no "mall" noise and I felt myself relaxing right away. The Perky Pumpkin Facial was sooooo good! Hydrating and non-irritating to my skin. The scents of the products were lovely without being overly perfumed or sweet. And now, 24 hours later, my skin still feels hydrated. As a suggestion, please stop using single use plastic cups when you offer your guests a drink. I get the whole COVID thing and trying to limit anything that could cause transmission but you're literally digging into my pores for extractions. I don't see how an actual drinking glass could be considered crossing that COVID line. I'll definitely be back for another treatment but will decline any beverage that's offered if it comes in a crackly, cheap, wasteful plastic cup. read more

I give this company a 0 star review as that is not an option. I do not recommend this company what so ever my husband and I had membership to this spa. They never have couple massage appointments available. When I do have an appointment available they make changes to your appointment they will tell you they call you the day of your appointment. You show up thinking everything is good and your told that the person you schedule with is not available "I always schedule with a female" and when I arrive they inform me I have a male that is not what I wanted. After 6 months we decided to cancel our memberships in September as this company has horrible customer service and never have appointments available. When you cancel membership you have 30 days to use the credits available or you lose them. I had to get service I did not want so I would not lose my credits I had a facial done with one of the credits I had a bad reaction to the products used left sores on my face they did not offer to refund me for the service or anything just told me there products do not do that. One of our member ship was cancelled correctly the second members was not cancelled and has been charging me every month. I contacted them in November and was told they took care of the problem and I was refunded my money with in a few days. I received a email apologizing for the inconvenience and told at that time the membership was canceled. Then in December I was charged agin mind you I needed to use that money for Christmas so I went in personally and talk to the person that cancelled my memberships back in September she let me know that she will make sure it is cancelled and I will receive a refund witch has not happened and it has been 3 weeks now. This is completely unacceptable I will be returning today and will be having a talk with them agin. This company is a joke they did not offer me anything for all of the inconveniences that they have caused us. Dont waste your money at this spa as the owners do not care who the inconvenience. read more

I was excited to book a facial online with Rebecca and this was only my second facial ever. I liked the atmosphere and the location of Spavia, the lights were dim, it smelled nice, and it was very clean. There's a nice little waiting room where you can use a warm towel and have some tasty tea. The girls were really nice and helpful with check-in and payment at the end. Rebecca was very sweet, we had great conversation the entire hour. I currently don't have any allergies and have never had any reactions to creams, lotions, serums, etc. My skin felt fine the first night and then slowly throughout the week I started to break out. This break out wasn't pimples, it was more of a very dry rash that was itchy within the T-zone. I'm not sure of the line of products that were used and I'm also not sure if this is normal with facials in general, but it wasn't fun. My skin is MUCH better now after a week with minimal makeup. This definitely isn't a problem with Spavia, I'm just not sure if I can handle the products they use. read more

I was a loyal customer of Spavia since 2018 when they first opened. I loved the convenience of having a spa in South Reno. However, recently there has been a lot staff turnover (red flag!) and it has become impossible to find any available appointment times, so I decided to cancel my membership. After calling the spa to cancel, they continued to charge me for my monthly membership. When I asked about the additional charges, they told me it was my fault because I never filled out a form that they claimed they emailed to me, but never did and never even told me about. If I could give zero stars, I'd give it negative stars. Malleli up and LEAVES in the beginning of appointments. Was contacted by Anna to confirm the appointment who also says Malleli hasn't missed an appointment. They offered no reason or explanation for cancellations. No one calls or makes arrangements after we drive over an hour to get here. They NEVER honor the full time of 80 minutes (more like 65 because they think you need 15 minutes to change out of a robe and hop on the bed). They never have availability and even if they do they don't tell you they cancel your appointment until you're in the lobby waiting. We're a military family and expecting a baby this happened more than 4 times now so we waste our time, gas, and money. They have no remorse and show they truly don't care about their guests. We've complained on numerous occasions for their lack of communication and poor treatment. The associates are clueless and the manager, Jan, never returned calls or fixes the situation. Staff (Merirae, who is oblivious of the situation and proves their deceit by insulting us in a comment) is upset and tries to blame the customer for leaving poor reviews for their unprofessionalism and won't acknowledge their fault. Unprofessional establishment and staff should be fired. Avoid at all costs. Try Reno Massage & Reflexology which is much better. read more

I had received a gift certificate for a massage and facial and had a wonderful experience. The massage therapist and esthetician had the same name and I'm sorry but I forgot them. They were both attentive and understanding. I'm recovering from brain surgery and they were very open to my nervousness and really put me at ease with it being my first massage/facial back since my surgery. I had the worst experience ever. The service itself was so bad (Skin Renewing Sugar Glow). This service is so not worth your time and money. It was literally just applying the scrub and not even scrubbing. The lady Rebecca was so bad I will never go to Spavia again. She hardly even touched my body, she was so lazy. I was absolutely the opposite of relaxed and extremely disappointed. This is rip off. What a shame! Get a good brand scrub from any store and apply it during bath to get much better feeling instead of wasting your money and time at this spa. read more

I received a facial from Tammy today and it was absolutely amazing!!! She was so kind and positive, had great technique, and I appreciated how she explained each step through the process. This was my first facial ever so I really enjoyed being walked through the process. The massage she gave was so relaxing and at the end she recommended product to me not just fit for my skin but my budget as well, which I found extremely helpful. In addition to the great service, I found the spa clean, cute, and quite therapeutic. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hate to have to give such a low review because I had a mostly pleasant experience. My girlfriend and I booked a spa day together to celebrate our Jan birthdays. We had been looking forward to it for a long time. She booked a massage and I chose a facial. Ive had many facials in my life and I always enjoy them. This was my first time at this spa. It's small and doesn't offer a lot of amenities like the casino spas but the price is lower and it's closer to home. The girl who brought me back for the facial was about 5 minutes late, but she was incredibly nice. I noticed in the room was supplies for waxing so I asked about adding on an eyebrow wax. Boy was that a mistake. I should have assumed something was wrong immediately because my eyebrows were on fire, much more than they normally were after waxing. I was scared about how the facial would react to my burning skin but proceeded. She knew what she was doing when she suggested the wax before the facial. When she applied the first enzyme is was burning so bad on my eyebrows that she wiped it off. The rest of the treatment my eyebrows were still on fire. When I left my face was red, which I assumed was just normal from the treatment. But last night I could hardly sleep because if my eyebrows touched the pillow it would sting. I have burn marks on my eyebrows today and my face is still bright red after washing everything off. (See embarrassing photos) Idk if I had a reaction to the products or what. I have never been red like this the next day after a facial. My eyebrows don't usually have burn marks after waxing either. Needless to say, I most likely will never be back. read more

I am disappointed in my experience in which it felt esthetician over Customer. I had an appointment scheduled with Erika for a facial. I called the Spa ahead of time to let them know I was running late and no one answered. Then I received a call from the front desk and I explained to them I was 5 minutes away and that I had been trying to reach them. The Location for this Business on Apple Maps sends you to a Completely different location near legacy nails which is on the opposite side of Spavia. After driving around trying to find the location, I found the location and walked in A MINUTE over the grace period. in which the front desk tells me the esthetician can no longer do my facial. After I explained to the front desk that Apple Maps does not send you to the right location she even looked it up on her phone. When the front desk looked up Spavia on her phone it was also sending her in a different direction. In which she said I understand as my App also sends me to a different location "I Just can't hold an esthetician here" I do not think Erica is a Real esthetician if she isn't willing to provide someone that is A MINUTE over grace period a facial due to wrong address on the map. Thankfully they have a grace period of 10minutes but if someone already waiting ten minutes what is 1 minute more if the location on Apple Maps is wrong. Definitely no customer service. read more

Wow! Where do I start? I just moved to Reno from Utah and I have been searching for a new spa for quite some time. I had an absolutely fabulous experience at Spavia. I have been to lots of spas, clinics and the like over the years, however, this one is truly special! From the moment I walked in, the front desk employee was so charming and helpful. I felt very comfortable in this space. I was eager to sign up for a massage membership after the massage too, which I can guarantee you is worth the $. As for the massage itself - O M G. It was great! Nick was wonderful. He was attentive to my problem areas and was mindful about pressure. He made sure that the room, table, and so forth were a comfortable temperature for me. It was evident that he pays close attention to his clients and works to optimize their experiences. When receiving the massage, I also got to choose my own lotion scent and music! These are nice details to have included in your service, it makes it feel more personalized. I loved the lotions so much I had to buy some! (Treat yo' self.) The guava, coconut & orange blossom scents are all SO gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of tropical scents - so these were a perfect fit for me. On my way out, I was absolutely SHOCKED when the owner came out to personally greet me, ask how my service was, exc. The fact that she took those few minutes to really show how much she cared about her guests made me feel like a real PERSON, rather than a dollar sign (something that I think we all feel way too often at other businesses). That small but significant gesture meant so much to me, and honestly made my day. I have so much respect for the owner, Merirae, the staff, and this business!! I had an appointment for a treatment. On the morning of the treatment they called to say that my technician was sick and that they would have to reschedule. I had already waited several weeks for the appointment and it was very difficult to find another day that worked (although it really didn't) but I did it without complaint. Come the day of my rescheduled appointment, I awoke with a fever and was too weak to get out of bed. I called the minute they opened at 10AM (my appointment was for that night) and explained my predicament. Their response? They normally charge a fee for cancellations in less than 24 hours but because I don't have a record of cancelling at the last minute, they'll waive the fee for me. I explained that they had cancelled on me a few weeks earlier, with less than 24 hours notice and that I didn't threaten to charge them a fee for wasting my time. I was told that they have no record of that happening. No apology but she quickly asked if I would like to reschedule. That's a big fat NO! read more

I have had a membership with Spavia for a little over a year and am pleased with their services. I regularly receive an essential signature facial or premier deep cleanse facial. I really enjoy the facials at Spavia because they include a generous arm and shoulder massage with hot stones. It is really what sets Spavia apart from the other 12 spas I have visited (including other states). On my last visit I was even surprised to find they have added a foot massage to this portion (over the sheet so there was no foot-to-face contact). They used to include a paraffin wax for your hands and was disappointed when this was phased out. I have had three different estheticians perform my services. I verified names with my visit history to ensure accuracy. Miriam is my favorite and always does a phenomenal job. She is so sweet and always makes sure that the products used are the best for my skin at the moment. She also does a thorough massage that I am very pleased with. She even does a small scalp massage - personally, my favorite part! She excels past her peers. I cannot say enough nice things about Miriam. Morgan does a decent job. I get the impression she is new to the field and needs to build some confidence in her abilities. She does good work, but just seems slightly nervous. I am sure she will grow to do exceptional work after gaining some experience. I will continue to visit Morgan if Miriam is not available. I was disappointed by my facial with Christi. Especially after I was told she was a co-owner of Spavia. She almost entirely skipped over the arm massage, which is one of my favorite portions of the service. She was very short and overall, simply very lame with the "massage" she provided. And she was curt in her behavior. I would not recommend booking with her. Handling any scheduling, payments, or issues has also been very easy. I have only had one problem, where my appointment was cancelled because a therapist was unavailable, but they gave me a few hours notice and made up for it by upgrading my service when I rescheduled. I think they should have done this, but they were under no obligation to do so, so I am grateful they value their customer service. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Spavia Membership. I think it is a good value and competitive with the area. I recommend Spavia to my friends and people who ask. I do recommend booking a few weeks in advance, as they do get full.
