SHE CUT OFF PART OF MY EAR! Well i honestly wish that i could say i had a good experience but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I didn't make an appointment but they were able to get me in quickly which i thought was great. The haircut started awesome and i didn't ask for anything fancy just needed to tame my hair a bit. Where things took a turn; was while the stylist was cutting my hair she cut part of my ear off. I kept calm and asked for an emergency kit. They didn't have that but did bring out a dry wash cloth some random gauze they had. The wound wasn't stopping bleeding and i asked if someone could drive me to the hospital or get me a taxi voucher to go over there. I ended up spending nine hours in the emergency room waiting to see a doctor. I followed up and asked the management team to contact me. I messaged the number that was given to me by their "concerned" district manager. Only to find out that it wasn't even his number that he gave me. I waited 4 days to hopefully hear from someone. Nothing. I'm not looking for compensation or anything of the sort. I simply wanted some level of follow up to know that they actually did care about their client that was injured as a result of negligence. I worked in hospitality for 12 years and i know that a little bit of care can go a long way. Hope this helps in your decision making to go here or not. read more

I'm new to the city and popped into this location to get a cut and style. I saw Lee (can't remember his last name). He was very nice and listened to what I had to say before washing my hair. The cut he gave was very nice. He wasn't scissor happy and I wasn't looking for a hip modern cut. I'm trying to grow my hair and wanted to keep long layers. My hair continues to grow really well. I have very wiry curly hair. My sister ended up going to him for a trim as well (she has wiry straight hair) and she was pleased as well. We're both going to see him again this month. read more

I have to say, I am getting less impressed with the quality everytime. I just went in today to get my bangs trimmed, and left extremely'disappointed. The taper in my hair was ignored, the final look is shorter than i'd thought I'd specified, and its very boxy. Will not return to this location. I had, quite possibly the worst eyebrow wax known to (wo)man in this place. When I got there for my waxing appointment, something was obviously up as the receptionist and some other guy behind the desk looked at each other quickly a few times and said some things under their breath about where so-and-so was. Apparently the girl who did the waxing normally wasn't there. They didn't bother to tell me this, though. Instead, they took me into what I swear to god was a janitorial closet with a massage bed on it. The ceiling was yellow and stained with cracks in the paint, the entire room smelled like a urinal, and the girl hardly spoke English. The eyebrow wax itself took over THIRTY MINUTES during which she refused to let me see what she was doing (she wouldn't show me her progress in a mirror) and she complained that my eyebrows were "difficult." Strange, no one else has had a problem just maintaining the shape already there. She gave up on the wax and decided to spend over 10 minutes PLUCKING them. She didn't seem to understand that I get my brows waxed because I don't like plucking or having someone else pluck them. When she was done, I had two horrendously uneven brows, one with the back third completely gone entirely and the inside of the brows waxed way inside where my eyes started. It has taken me almost 6 months to get my brows back to looking like I wasn't the recipient of some hazing ritual. I will never go to the West Ed Spasation again. Never. read more

Wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. Friend and I came here to get a blowout for a wedding in town on Aug 16. Think we made the mistake of telling them we were from Vancouver and Calgary becuase by the end of it I was charged $68. Her reasoning? The length of my hair (which isnt past my chest) Being from Vancouver, I havent even paid $68 for a haircut let alone a blowout. I was completely mortified. When we called ahead to book our appointment they said it would start from $35 onwards. The most I expected to pay was $50. But in this case after tax it ended up being $70-FOR A BLOWOUT!! Extremely disappointed. Also as far as service went, she barely spoke until I kept asking her questions to initiate converstaion. I used to be a regular at spasation, until I was introduced to the magic of Eveline Charles, but because I was tight on money I went back to Spasation. Walking in itself didn't feel too right with me but I sat and waited, determined to get my hair done as it needed a trim desperately. I was seen by a young, blonde, stiff woman. I cannot remember her name. She didn't talk much but her irritable silence made me uncomfortable, so I tried to get her to open up. And open up she did. She began to talk smack about her coworkers and other customers, unprofessional and especially not cool considering a few of her coworkers with other customers were right behind us, staring at her in the mirror. To start off with, I asked for a thinning and a trim. She did not wash my hair. She did not dampen my hair. She did not brush my hair. She just began cutting. Free-handed, brazenly cutting which I'm sure you can imagine made me a lot more uncomfortable. At one point she stopped holding the edges of my hair and just chopped at it. It was not even. It was not pretty. And I was not happy. So I asked her as politely as I could to fix it, as one side was painfully longer than the other. So she did. Half-assed, I might add, she didn't seem to appreciate that I didn't like what she had done. When she was done for the second time, it looked better considering the first state she left it in. I have been going to sereesa for about a year now and I have to say she is the best stylist I have ever seen. She gets what I'm looking for and loves to try new things. She is very professional and is always updating her courses. I'm always very happy with the cuts and colours. She thinks out of the box and found a way to put funk back into my professional style. My daughter and I both got our hair styled here. I gave it 2 stars because my daughters hair was ok. blow dry and braid. If it was just my review it would have been 0 stars I was very clear to the stylist, I just wanted a blow out with volume. Her technique was poor (started from soaking wet hair), constantly getting my hair tangled in her brush then pulled hard to get out, used little product. Result I was left with flat, limp hair. I went to this salon for a bang trim. Sounds simple right? The hairdresser ignored my request for a trim (my bangs are angled to the side). By the time I left the salon, I had bangs half an inch above my eyebrows, and she used thinning shears on my already fine hair! I made a complaint about the service I received (something I never do) and was told that there was no manager to hear my complaint and that it was "my problem." I was then given a manager's number. In about 30 yrs of going to hairdressers I've never had to wear my hair in a ponytail after a new cut. It's been about six weeks and I still can't wear my hair down. I asked for long layers and a trim. I pretty much received a mullet. My long layers barely met the top of my ears. I've never had such a bad haircut. Don't know the stylists name but last chair before you get to the sinks on the right side. My advice avoid at all costs unless you go for hair that looks like it was cut with a hatchet. Wasn't going to complain but six weeks later and I still can't do anything with my hair. read more

Absolutely horrible, never coming back!!! I dropped into spasation while browsing West Ed. At first, everything seemed fine, the lady at the counter was friendly, she gave me some recommendations and I purchased a shampoo. The shampoo wasn't right for me, and I returned about a week later to exchange it. The salesperson informed me the manager had left for the day and he didn't have "the code" to authorize an exchange. Another salesperson (!) came up and confirmed that they can't do exchanges right now. After I protested and pointed at their exchange policy sign, he "compromised" by telling me I can leave the shampoo + receipt and he will write a note for the manager so that when I returned next time, they would refund me the difference (I purchased a different shampoo instead since he couldn't do an exchange). A few days later, I came by during lunch for my promised refund. After explaining at length what happened, the sales lady informed me they don't do refunds and I asked to see the manager. I started to explain, again, what happened to the manager, who rudely interrupted me in the middle and asked me to wait while they serve other customers (!), even though I came before them. After 10 minutes of waiting, I explained the situation for the third time. At first, the manager clearly thought I was lying because they couldn't locate my purchase in their system or around the back counter. After pleading with them to look harder, they finally found my original shampoo with receipt in a bag at the bottom of their back drawer. The manager was incredibly inept: your employee created this whole mess by not being able to process my refund (apparently he was new and needed to "call her" about processing refunds?!) and your response is to produce excuses for his bad training and insist you can only offer an exchange but you'll throw in 10% off because you are "so nice"?!? I decided to save my nerves and grabbed a shampoo and conditioner off the shelf and we processed the exchange. The final touch? When she handed me the receipt, she advised I bring in the main receipt next time I need an exchange. Well, it's the first time I ever saw a "main" receipt! On previous visits, two different sales associates (!) never gave me one at all, only the small one from the mastercard terminal. The "main" receipt lists their exchange policy at 7 days (spasation website lists 14 days) and the bottom of the receipt eagerly asks for feedback at an address that no longer exists - www.members.spasation.com The incompetence at this place is through the roof, take your money elsewhere!! read more

Got a hair cut(only trim) and root touch up,charged me extra $35.00 for bangs...Really,WTF.Paid almost $180.00. What a rip off.!!!

This is a quite late review. But it's a warning that needs to be said. For all women. Right before I moved, I got my hair done here for the first time only because my appointment elsewhere fell through. The guy who did my hair basically was unprofessional and inappropriate. First he just seemed to make small talk asking me my background etc then went into details telling me how he dated girls from my birth country and when I stayed quiet. He'd ask personal questions like if I'm seeing someone. (I had a flight in four hours and no stylist available so I kept a forced smile on my face and basically said almost nothing besides answer questions about my background and relationship status). I told him I have a bf and he told me he's married but basically how he cheats on his wife. Then he started talking about faith out of the blue when I wasn't responding. Upon hearing this, the girls also who work there felt sorry for me and tried to interrupt by coming over to talk to him about styling questions and giving me pitty looks. When he noticed they were interrupting his perverted talk, he went on a rant basically saying how some of them are jealous of another employee who he flirts with on fbook and because he gave her a massage and they reported him to the owner. But because the owner is from his native country , nothing happened. Ladies, please avoid this man if he still works there. His name was Anthony. He went on to insist that I should join him at some pool. I told him no thanks I've a bf but he kept on insisting. I paid, ran out and got on my flight to Toronto to my man who is a licensed hair stylist and saw that my hair had basically got ruined. read more

My friend and I had decided to get our hair washed and styled on Saturday because we were visiting friends and thought it would be a treat. We walked into Spasation, and it looked as everyone was just standing around. One stylist told us it would be $30 for a wash and style. Fair enough price. I used to work in a salon so thats normal. I went to the back with a stylist. She asked how I wanted my hair. I said "whatever you think would look good, just styled nicely because I am going out tonight". She didn't quite know what to do, I finally just said curl it (because I don't do curl it often). The stylist said "curls with some volume then". The only thing we talked about for the whole hour of her doing my hair was me telling her I was in makeup school and her saying that its not a good industry to be in.. Just a thought... you shouldnt say that to your client... So Im done, and I go to the desk to pay and my total is $65. Im sorry, but I do not understand that one person would tell me $30 and then its over double the price for something I could have done myself. Especially to have such a mean stylist... I will never go back. And I will for sure tell everyone about how crappy service I received. read more
