The only reason this property gets two stars, because at 9:58pm, our neighbors were so loud! LAUGHING and being stupid, We called down and no questions asked, new room. 5am woke up because the new room neighbor was taking a conference call on speaker. I could hear the entire conversation about shipping orders and QA of products. Not very private for that person and no sleep for us! If you want to sleep, DO NOT STAY HERE! This is a business trip for us and not getting sleep is hindering my work performance. The location is a challenge to enter due to the odd size of the property, if you are coming from the airport, you need to go up and do a U-turn. This is not in the heart of Walnut Creek shopping area and restaurants. This is near all the car dealerships. If you don't have a car, this does not seem to be a location with much stuff near by. Parking is valet only and you need to be patient. There are many people working valet, but plan according because it does take time to get your car. Again the property is old with carpet. The elevators smell of urine but then they add carpet shampoo which i assume they use to try to cover up the urine smell. It does not work. For Marriott Bonvoy members with status this property has a Concierge lounge which is wonderful to get some water and coffee. Snacks are limited and not stocked as needed. The food items for breakfast and evening snacks are minimal. The employees are friendly, but struggling to keep up. Room: Originally 513 and then moved to 549. 513 is interior to hotel so you don't get road noise. 549 is close to the road so you get road noise. But both rooms have again THIN WALLS and you hear all the noise from your neighbors. Both rooms have horrible lighting in the bathroom and room, overall dark. King bed that is uncomfortable and flat pillows which again makes a poor sleep quality. The room does have a long narrow window that you need to open for light. The long bench under the bench provides extra seating or a place to put your luggage. Coffee maker is nothing special, horrible coffee, but at least there is a coffee machine. Get coffee from the Concierge lounge. There is a fridge in the room so you can run to Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's nearby to get snacks. Ice machine is down the hall and there was a microwave in the room with the ice machine just in case you need to warm something up. Because there is nothing near by, I see a bunch of people with to go bags and they line the outside of the rooms when you go to the elevator. Bathroom: Standing shower with not great water pressure, but at least the water is hot. Horrible lighting. First and last time I will ever stay at this property. Again do not recommend this property IF you want sleep.

I really appreciate people who are open to conversation. I'm sure they know who I am now. I've only been here for a few days, but the hotel also offers breakfast in the morning. The kitchen staff worker is wonderful; you can tell she loves her job. She'll randomly come out and offer special items that aren't part of the free breakfast. She even baked a huge tray of cookies and started offering them to the hotel guests in the lobby. I'll be back next week, and I'm sure the experience will be just as wonderful as my first week.

My husband, our three kids, and I stayed for one night. We paid $35 for valet parking and trusted that our vehicle and belongings would be secure. The valet staff greeted us nicely when we arrived, so we had no reason to think anything was wrong. The next morning, after enjoying breakfast and checking out, we were waiting for our car. The moment I opened the door, I realized our entire vehicle had been ransacked. Multiple belongings were stolen, including something incredibly important my children's birth certificates and Social Security cards, which we had with us because we were traveling. We immediately notified the valet attendant and hotel staff. Unfortunately, they were absolutely no help. We were offered a refund of the $35 valet fee and given the number for the valet company's manager, Eric. Eric told us this had "never happened before" and said he would review the surveillance footage and get back to us. He never did. We filed a police report, and this is where things became even more concerning. The officer told us that the hotel manager had informed him that another vehicle had also been ransacked that same day. Yet when we reported what happened, nobody at the hotel mentioned that another vehicle had been broken into. What hurts the most is that we trusted this hotel and its valet service. We paid for the convenience and security of valet parking, only to leave with our vehicle ransacked. I understand that a hotel cannot prevent every crime, but I absolutely expect honesty, communication, and genuine assistance when something like this happens to a guest. Instead, we felt completely dismissed. We feel violated, disappointed, and completely let down. Stay and use the valet at your own risk. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this location or its valet service!

I was worried my communication or role in the planning process might fall short, but Martini and Andre were absolute professionals. I reserved and prepaid $977.28 through the AAA Travel website for a Premium Two King Beds room. My confirmation clearly states that I purchased a Premium Two King Beds room. Before traveling, I also called the hotel directly to verify my reservation, and I was assured everything was confirmed. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room type was no longer available. Instead of the two king beds I had reserved and paid for, I was given a room with only one king bed and a rollaway bed. I was traveling with my elderly mother and my adult daughter. Because the rollaway bed was not suitable for my daughter, my mother had to sleep on the rollaway bed for our three-night stay. This was not the room I purchased, and it significantly affected our comfort during our trip. I immediately asked whether another room was available or whether the hotel could provide a discount or other accommodation. I was told the hotel was sold out and that nothing could be done. The staff was not empathetic and repeatedly stated that because I had booked through a third party, there was nothing they could do. After returning home, I contacted the hotel again. During that conversation, I was told that I had been "bumped" because I booked through a third party and that had I booked directly through the hotel, they would have honored my reservation. I find this unacceptable. My reservation was confirmed, paid in full, and verified directly with the hotel before my arrival. Guests should not receive inferior accommodations simply because they booked through an authorized travel partner such as AAA. I respectfully request: * A partial refund for failing to provide the room category I paid for. * A written explanation as to why my confirmed reservation was not honored. * An explanation of the hotel's policy regarding confirmed reservations made through AAA and other authorized travel agencies. I have already opened a case with AAA Travel and hope this matter can be resolved promptly and fairly.

We were so upset with the room we were given, that they let us move to another room on the opposite side of the hotel and if anything it was worse. Upon entry of the new room there were dead cockroaches on the exterior of the room and inside live ones. I hope you read this before you even think to book a stay here. After seeing the condition of the second room offered, I demanded my refund back and that nite we left aimlessly driving around the East bay at 11pm looking for a sanitary place to lay my child's head down. It was a traumatizing encounter! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. I reached out to Contra Costa county health department to report what we encountered and they said this was not their only complaint on this hotel , it was actually there 2nd complaint that week!!
