Spotless bathroom
Alan C.

First of all, I have nothing bad to say about the property itself. It's in a good location, close to everything in Walnut creek, and only about 10 minutes from Walnut Creek Bart, which will take you just about anywhere in the Bay area. The motel is just off of the 680 Freeway, but there is a large sound wall to keep out the noise. It also has a very good rate, considering that Walnut Creek is one of the higher rent zip codes in the East Bay. Try getting another place in town for less than $100 on a Saturday night... The Room was small, but spotless. The TV was decent size with Dish Network and HBO with a good picture, the bed was a bit firm for my personal taste, but I still got a good night's sleep. I have problems with stairs, and so I asked for a downstairs room. I specifically said that I did not need a handicapped room, but that's what they gave me. I hope I didn't take the room from someone who really needed it. I didn't like the fact that the WI-Fi was a "bait and switch." They offer "free wi-fi", but they don't say that if you want wi-fi fast enough to stream video, you have to pay 5 bucks extra. I didn't pay for it, but still, the free wi-fi kept cutting out. I had to end up using my phone's cellular data signal as a wi-fi hotspot. Like I said, the stay itself was overall good... HOWEVER..... There were two main problems. First, my credit card was stolen from the front desk. I accidentally left it either in the credit card reader, or on the counter. Unfortunately, the clerk didn't catch it, and so the next person who came into the office grabbed my card and went on a shopping spree. They spent $1300 at the Apple Store, and then Chase shut down the card before they could also use the card at Macy's and a local restaurant for almost *another * $1000. Fortunately, I am not on the hook for fraud. Yes, it was on me that I left the card there, but I really wish that the clerk would have caught it... The other problem I had was the rate. On the web page, I was quoted a rate of $85.43 after taxes with a military discount. That was the rate also listed in my confirmation email. When I got to the motel, I was charged $93.43. It's a small amount, but it's the principle of the thing. I called customer relations, and had to listen to the Motel 6 theme music for over 5 minutes, and no one ever came on the line. Have you ever listened to the Motel 6 theme over and over for 5 minutes?? *EAR TORTURE!!!* When I called back and finally got someone, she said all she could do was "send an email to the motel." I called the motel directly and spoke to the manager. He said he would credit my card for the difference, but if he doesn't, I'll just dispute the charge. The credit came through a few days later. I like Motel 6, and the stay was fine, but the rest of the experience *SUCKED!* I will give them one more chance, but that's it!!!

Red stains who knows what that is

I don't know where to start because I usually don't do this, but I feel it is necessary to let other people know. On Sat January 13th I stopped off the freeway having a medical issue it was raining really hard outside an I was having trouble seeing. When I got there an entered the office, there was a older lady at the desk with no shoes on who informed she had been there since 6am an please ignore the no shoes. Wasn't even a problem. I checked in and when I entered the room I was so disgusted off the smell alone it made me sick. Human piss. Idk where to even start. The room was so bad it was clear someone had resided in the room prior an was not properly cleaned. There was Human feces on the wall, there was piss dripping from the toilet. There was a brown substance dripping from the tub. The whole entire room was gross. I stayed long enough to find another hotel, and exited the room due to me being so sick I wasn't able to go express my concern at the time. I waited until Tuesday because Monday was a holiday. When I called an asked to speak to manager she came on the phone very rude an irritated I informed her of the room condition and she told me I was lying. I informed her I have pictures with the time and date on them an I wasn't lying. She informed me she could give me half my money back, which is not acceptable for me. When I expressed this I was hung up on. So if you want to chance coming in to contact with others human bodily waste or what ever else was dripping off the toilet. Go ahead. Absolutely disgusting

Pictures online looked ok, and at the time i made my reservation I just needed a bed for one night because my boyfriend was being kept overnight at the hospital. We found out after I made the reservation online that his surgery appointment was extremely early so I called and asked to add one day, no problem. Fast forward to the day of my reservation. 3:27 pm (3pm is check-in) I have the following interaction: "hi I'm calling to confirm your reservation for today" me "yes, thank you, we will be there". Her "ok, do you know when?" I'm sitting in the tub thinking why am I having this conversation!? So I just said "hopefully by 5pm" then she got a nasty tone and said "I noticed you said we, I have you down for one person" (originally we didn't know his appointment time and I was just going to stay while they kept him overnight) I said "tonight will be two, my boyfriend and I, tomorrow will be one." She said "ok, tonight 1 adult and one child, I won't charge you extra, tomorrow one" I didn't say anything.. Then I got a fake sugary sweet "have a safe trip". I have never stayed anywhere that two people was a higher fee than one, or that they called me trying to figure out where I was so quickly after check-in time. In case your wondering like I was: there is NOT - a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, shampoo or conditioner (they ARE available upon request though) dresser, closet, do not disturb sign for the door, alarm clock, free wifi, or even a night stand on both sides of the bed. There IS: "Deluxe wifi" for a daily fee of $4.99, outlets on both sides of the bed, a full sized (if dirty) tub/shower combo, a coat rack in lieu of a closet, lights over both sides of the bed with independent switches, a heater/AC unit, HD television with HD channels!! (We just paid twice as much for a room without HD), bath soap, shelf with two shelves in lieu of a dresser, a mixture of fun smells - sour towel, cigarettes, dog, and mustiness, firm but ok platform bed, people outside your door smoking and that smoke wafting into your room enough to irritate your lungs. My thoughts? If I didn't have the annoying phone exchange I'd give it 3 stars. It meets my needs of somewhere to sleep while my boyfriend spends the night in the hospital. $197.75 for two nights in queen room. Very few pictures from me Leslie R did a great job with that. I was going to leave it at that. I'm glad I held this for publishing until after my stay. At 12am the guests above us slammed into their room. Until 2am we listened to what sounded like people running, jumping, sliding, and falling on the fake wood floor. Starting to trust the reviews for reality we packed up everything and went to put it in the car. We were greeted by a police cruiser parked behind our car. As we got into the car to leave we noticed two mucus filled spots where someone had spit on the windshield of my car. Not once, but twice. I have one more night here, by myself.. I'm not sure I feel safe. After spending 12 hours at the hospital I went to the front desk to tell them about my experience, ask if there was another room available and see if the same guest was above me tonight. I got a rather passive aggressive tone and a "well if you'd said something this morning maybe, but not now. You should have called us last night". I stated I didn't want to bother anyone and I prefer to avoid confrontation to which I was told in a tone implying I was a child "there is someone here 24/7 PAID to help you." Then we switched to scolding mother mode "what if they were bothering the people next to them too and we didn't know". There was a lot of shaming and passive aggressive communication but no resolution. I'm in the same room, with a different guest above me hoping for the best.

Complete remodel recently.

Complete remodel that accepts dogs at no extra cost and in a very nice neighborhood next to a Hilton, Marriott and Maserati dealership. Nice front staff, very clean, spacious room with modern bed frame, a desk area, and a choice of chair or corner booth style seat. It has an extra large bathroom, a modern sink, and a built in TV cabinet with basic cable. Lots of well lit parking, pool looks nice and clean, plus has an ice machine, and vending machine I am told. Right off the freeway, Taco Bell across the street, and no it does not have little shampoo bottles nor would I expect that it does like 4 star hotels (the number of stars explains amenities). Me? I just want my husband happy with the neighborhood I am staying in alone with the dog, and, quite honestly? For everyone to leave me alone. I bring my own shampoo, and I bring my own internet so can't comment on the strength of their WiFi. And now to get back to what I said - to get to be alone for once, to not have to talk to anyone - sorry, not even you guys.

The staff was fast and courteous. My room was clean, all the appliances worked and the towels were acceptable. The best part is that pets stay for free, which made this a steal. The Hyatt down the street charges $75 extra to bring a pet in. I paid $153 for two nights and got a good nights rest both nights. The room still smelled like nasty body odor like every other Motel 6...oh well....

First time staying here and in this area. Read some research reviews where customers experience…read morewas very negative, but I did not experience anything like this. I arrived early and was able to check in. The person at the front desk was very accommodating. It is a full service Marriott so they have a bar and restaurant and also a concierge lounge. They do not have any self parking and only have a valet option and obviously valet is not cheap but neither is any parking in the San Francisco area. Valet personnel were very friendly and prompt and bringing the car every morning. The room was comfortable and spacious. I did not have any issues during my stay and would definitely stay here again. I did not venture out around the hotel, but it was near a highway, which was convenient, but I didn't see many restaurants within walking distance.

My first stay at this hotel, there were a few hiccups. The app was showing a different room than my…read morereservation, the parking charge was on my incidental card instead on the card on file which was clearly communicated during checkin but still ended up in error, and housekeeping was not consistent on the things they took out of the room and never replaced. All of those things were a headache and during the first time I stayed for a week, I had to ask housekeeping for stuff back to be replaced and my card at checkout was sorted. I had hopes for this location that I decided to come back as the service at the hotel, they tried to make it right. However, my second stay for another week took a downturn for the worst. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is busy as I've seen on both my stays, several business companies had their events at this location. While that's a good thing, it certainly leaves room for error on other things. I came back and during my second stay, the front desk was terrible. This is not an exaggeration. Ever had someone look up and down at you with a side eye? The moment I walked up to the desk and said hi, I'm here to checkin, the only response I got in a tone you'd never expect was "identification card" and proceeded to look up and down at me again. For context, I was fully clothed. Poloshirt with jacket, non fitted full pants with shoes and 2 bags. The entire interaction was just horrible. If it wasn't for work, I would've just cancelled my reservation right there and then. The interaction was that bad. Housekeeping is daily unless you have your dnd sign. Microwave is at a common room for the entire floor. I had the same experience the second time around. I reuse my towels and except for the towel you use for the floor outside the shower, everything else is hanged. When I had housekeeping, my towels are taken away without replacement. It was the same for the face towels too. The safe in the room was not working. I voiced out my concern to another front desk agent regarding my checkin process and got connected with Lisa, whom she introduced herself as director of operations. When I told her about my checkin, she was apologetic in some sense and explained that it was not in their policy for someone to act that way and even told me I will be given pts as compensation. At checkout, I asked the front desk agent to check the card charge and at least they got that right. If after checking/asking about this 3 times during my stay and an error still occurred, then I have no words for it anymore. When I asked about the compensated points, he said since it was that much was going to be given it would take 5 business days after the my checkout date. I waited more than 2 weeks and the only pts in my account was just my regular hotel stay pts. I will not be coming back to a location that has a rude front desk agent and conversations that don't push through. Save your money and go somewhere else. I drove around the area and there are multiple options that one can go.

Do not recommend when there is a Marriott literally down the street for three same price. Didn't get an opportunity to take more images--as we just wanted to run from this place. Check in was not particularly friendly and I was grilled multiple times about whether or not I had a car with me - which I did - but as valet parking is $35 per day plus tax and I can park right outside for $8 - it was not parked at the hotel! Then I was asked if I wanted a high floor ( there are 6) I was placed on 3. I set one foot into the first room before backing back out - the scent of smoke and sweat was overwhelming! I immediately went down and was switched - to stumble across the cleaner calling me a liar! Room 2 had a strong food smell, looked directly into other rooms and the hallway offered the scent of weed and randomly multiple elderly people who seemed to be doing rehab after knee surgery along the hallways ! Room 3 was fine. They offer - in theory - housekeeping every other day but give you three, small threadbare towels to last you two days even of you have 4 guests! We like multiple other guests had to go hunt more down at the end of day 2 ! The elevators were dirty and our second day a cleaner got in and randomly hit every floor button - pausing to hold the doors open at each level to chat to peers, so zero consideration for guests! Hallways were stuffy with blue painters tape marking the walls! The sofa bed is DISGUSTING with what appeared to be mold on the underside and a threadbare mattress cover that was well beyond its last days! Besides location this is the thing of horror movies and I have made a formal complaint to the Marriott !

My family went today to have a nice girls day. Cheers to 2026. We had planned the day about a month in advance and we're looking forward to it the entire time. Everyone who worked here was very nice and all of us really enjoyed our services (some had multiple) I do just need to say a warning. I've always know Lafayette was once a sundown town even though I grew up there and was hard to picture. So I expect certain people to act a way however it's gotten so much worse in recent years and we are white. So this is a warning to others. My sisters and I were in the hot tub after one of our treatments and we had ordered a couple appetizers and a bottle of bubbles to enjoy. The staff was very nice and brought it out to us in the hot tub and obviously brought it in plastic wine flutes as they know as employees no glass is allowed. About an hour later, an employee or manager approached us and let us know. There had been a complaint about glass in the hot tub. We explained to her and no, this is from your hotel that we ordered (and spent over $100 after spending a lot of money in the spa) and then she asked to verify that we were residence of the hotel and we explained yes we are doing the spa. I want to again state, This is nothing against the employees there. We clearly knew the lady was doing her job. A couple of us get out to go into the locker room to shower and change for dinner that we are going to have on the property (again money to the Park Hotel) and we noticed in the shower area, the swimsuit of a lady who was in the hot tub with us hanging by the shower. She is nowhere in the locker room and my friend notes "she is the one who complained and she must be getting a service right now" We realize that while we were in the hot tub chitchatting amongst ourselves, we brought up two points. 1) is the orange turd going to die this year and 2) why is all a certain type of people posting bad reviews on the Stranger Things episode where Will comes out to people - and SPECIFICALLY said we don't understand why people hold so much hate in their hearts and spend energy on it (this becomes ironic in a bit) While we didn't spend a lot of time talking about either of these, and they're not in excessively political, the lady I will name "Karen" in the hot tub (yes she looked like one) clearly was angry with the conversation the three of us were having and wanted to " get us in trouble" Meanwhile a man in the hot tub was super cordial and even joined in on our convo on airline preferences So this note is just straight for the Karen. We all grew up in Lafayette and we don't need your hate and toxicity in it really. I so really hope that you're not from our area and we're just visiting and staying at the hotel. You almost ruined a perfect day for us. And I wouldn't be as silent if I run into you at Safeway Hope you felt real "powerful", Karen. And sorry to the employee who had to do her due diligence and approach us

Unwelcoming Experience Despite Loyalty to Marriott…read more Review for Renaissance Walnut Creek / Bay Club - Citrus Restaurant I've been a loyal Marriott guest for years and recently joined the on-site Bay Club because I trusted the Marriott brand. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the restaurant consistently falls short of Marriott's hospitality standards. On one visit, staff told me I could sit in the rotunda area with my own food (which I must bring for health reasons), and on another, I was told I couldn't--leaving me embarrassed during what was meant to be a birthday spa day. The restaurant is usually empty, and when I brought international guests earlier this summer, we were ignored and never offered menus. After reading similar reviews, it seems other guests have also had underwhelming experiences. I would strongly suggest that Marriott revamp how this restaurant is managed to ensure that it falls in line with their standards of excellence in customer treatment. Also, as they have open seating in the lobby rotunda area next to the restaurant, there should not be selective or uneven enforcement regarding outside food and beverages. Guests often sit there with their own drinks or snacks while working on a laptop or watching TV between activities--sometimes items purchased from the deli, and sometimes their own. I really wanted this place to work because it's beautiful. Unfortunately, it's not welcoming.

After having a hotel room broken into in Vegas a few years back, it's these things that put me at ease. *Clean spacious room that has a microwave + nightlight in the bathroom so you can see when you have to use it in the middle of the night. *Shampoo/ Conditioner/ Shower gel in the shower for you to use. Just in case you forget your stuff, you can use theirs. They also used the "Zero" brand which proudly boasts zero sulfates, zero parabens, zero phthalates, zero artificial colors, and zero animal testing.. Loved this. Another note: Parking is $10/ day here.

2.5 Stars It pains…read moreme to leave this review because we usually love IHG properties and have had many great experiences. The customer service here is excellent -- the front desk staff are friendly, welcoming, and truly try to help. Based on service alone, this would be a 5-star experience. Special recognition goes to Tom, who consistently delivers outstanding, five-star hospitality. He is a major asset to this hotel. Unfortunately, the physical condition of the property significantly brings down the overall experience. The rooms are very outdated, with worn furnishings and visible maintenance issues. On my most recent stay in room 153, the bed was very uncomfortable, the furnishings looked worn, and the bathroom had major problems. The shower/tub did not drain properly, water backed up quickly, and there were rusted fixtures, blotchy paint, and very poor ventilation. The heavily fragranced Dove products were also overpowering. Wi-Fi was extremely poor, especially in room 153, making it difficult to get any work done without using my phone's hotspot. This is a serious issue for business travelers. Breakfast is a bright spot -- the staff in the breakfast area are professional and kind, the food is fresh, and there is a good variety. However, the TV playing strongly political news in the morning is not appropriate for a shared dining space and detracts from an otherwise pleasant experience. Key card issues were another frustration. On both stays, I had repeated problems with cards not working, requiring multiple trips to the front desk. With renovations, better maintenance, and some operational improvements, this hotel could better reflect IHG standards and match the excellent service provided by staff like Tom. Unfortunately, due to the current condition, I likely will not be staying at this location again.

We were in the area for an event and decided to grab a room for the night. My guy went all out and…read morebooked us the two-bedroom suite, which ended up being such a great call. The room was huge! It had a cute little kitchen setup with a dining table, a comfy corner couch in the living area, and two separate bedrooms, which made it feel more like an apartment than a hotel. One room had a queen bed, a good-sized closet with wired shelving, and a super spacious bathroom with the sink area outside the bathroom, always a win when you're trying to get ready without fighting over space. The second bedroom had a king bed, its own walk-in shower, and the same setup with the sink outside the bathroom and open to the room, which made it super easy to multitask (aka watch TV while doing my makeup). The space overall was clean, functional, and comfortable. But my biggest complaint? That awful showerhead. It was grimy, leaking, and had the weakest water pressure. Definitely a letdown in an otherwise great room.... especially when a good shower is one of my top hotel priorities. The bathroom had the potential to be a vibe, but the shower situation totally killed it.
