    Upside down outlet
    Ali M.

I stayed here over the holidays and my stay was wonderful. I have to mention a few names for being kind, personable, and welcoming. My check in was with Pierre. Even when the room had a shower issue, he tried to get me in another room with a better shower, we walked through one but the shower head situation was the same (protruding non-secured shower head). Hopefully upgrades are coming because even maintenance couldn't fully secure it when they came to my room. Very weird but the outlet was also upside down, I run an electrical contracting business and this is not correct to do lol Concierge breakfast/lounge was really awesome! The staff there were so kind and truly catered to all the patrons. There was Anna, Nazia, and one other young man who was so precious! I'm so grateful to have had such genuine conversations with them. Nazia and my children truly bonded. It was really sweet. The one thing downside is the valet parking, which they force you to utilize and pay for. Although everyone in valet were respectful and kind, (Ad and David specifically) I didn't used the service, as I preferred to drive my own car and they still tried to charge me for parking.

My family and I stayed at the Walnut Creek Marriott 1 night on a Saturday (9/27/25) because I had a free night certificate to use that was expiring and we did not have time to go too far. Check-in was simple and quick. The hotel did not seem busy other than there was a wedding party happening, but no major room upgrade was offered other than the standard Concierge Lounge access (Platinum Bonvoy members and higher). I did ask if there was any upgrades when checking in and either the guy checking me in did not understand me or did not hear me and was basically ignored. It was just for 1 night, it was not that big of a deal. Location: Not far from downtown Walnut Creek (~1 mile away), walkable, but for those that want to drive I recommend driving to Target and park in their parking structure (free). Across the street from the hotel are the Bugatti, Bentley and McLaren dealerships. There are a a few walkable restaurants nearby, but you can find better restaurants downtown. Hotel: A little dated, but gets the job done if you just want a decent place to spend the night. Overall, I find that this hotel is "no frills and no thrills!" Parking: No self parking available. It is Valet only at $34/night. Valet was very quick in retrieving my car. Concierge Lounge: Free access for Platinum (and higher) Bonvoy Members. Pretty basic lounge offerings. In the evening, it does not seem like anyone comes and cleans the lounge much. I went in after checking in to grab a drink and there was mess at the cereal station and came back after a few hours after going out for dinner and a workout in the fitness center and the mess was still there. Most Marriott M Lounges are kept up much better. Room: Standard 2 Queen Bedroom with standard amenities. Overall was clean, but the grout in the bathroom was pretty dirty and could use a good steam cleaning. We had a nice view of the roof and wall, which I find is not acceptable for Platinum and higher Bonvoy members. Fitness Center/Pool: The fitness center was a good size and had plenty of equipment. There is a water station and towels provided. The bathroom has a lockers and a shower if you choose to shower after your workout before heading back to your room which I find unnecessary. The pool is outdoors. I did not check if it was heated. I do not believe there was a hot tub. Overall, this Marriott is really just a hair above a Courtyard Marriott or Four Points Sheraton. If I was to stay in Walnut Creek again, I would probably try the Residence Inn instead of this Marriott. If you are Platinum or higher Bonvoy member, I hope you have better luck at getting a better room/view than we did.

First view and room was loud

This is unfortunately another hotel to strike off the list As a Marriott Ambassador member I will have to skip this brand while in Walnut Creek and move to Hilton as their Garden Inn is far better besides location. I don't ask for much - did not ask for an upgrade - all I needed was the room I booked - two Queens with a bath as I currently have a broken foot. First room had a shower, second was a disabled room with no counters in the bathroom, it overlooked a concrete wall and was loud, due to a generator and it being adjoining. The next morning we asked to be moved and were put in another room with a completely obscured view of the bar and a concrete beam! The hotel was packed with Duke players and their families and the bar was certainly not quiet so room 4 - yes great fun with a broken foot was better - albeit it with a view of an apartment wall! That's what staying 120 nights a year and near 30k annual spend gets you ! But it was quiet and was the room type we booked! That was all we asked for! Finally frustrated by the lack of action - we reached out to the Marriott Ambassador line - they were told by the hotel that they had showed us 12 rooms and none were acceptable which was not only absurd but with a broken foot, not even doable! They have however offered us points for the inconvenience! It was miserable for the first 24 hours BUT David at the Valet was lovely and very helpful!

We came here for a staycation and the ocktober fest. The check in was quick and easy. You can only really valet your car which is an extra cost. The room was big and clean. Aside from it smelling a bit like smoke. I absolutely loved the black out shades. I think this is great as you don't get woken up by bright light coming through. The lighting in the bathroom is not good at all and bathroom feels like a bit of an afterthought in the remodel they did. Bed was comfortable and not too much outside noise can be heard. The lobby is huge and our check out was very easy and quick. Overall for what we were looking for it was good and everyone we talked to was friendly.

    Bathroom ceiling with hair.

Room was never serviced even though we were gone from 10am-10pm. Privacy sign was Not on the door so no excuse. Multiple long black hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom at arrival. The ceiling is absurdly low but how does that happen? Leak in hallway ceiling with large hole that was never fixed other than putting a trash container under it. Carpet sopping wet for large distance around it. Noisy room with all night freeway traffic keeping us awake. Avoid room 677 on the concierge level.

    Very cheap valet prices

if you want to get nickled and dimed in a bad area of town, stay here. Its loud and right on a main street. You wont get much sleep here. My favorite part is no self parking. With a valet fee of $35 plus tip. Theres no other options. And hopefully your car is there in the morning.

ADarius, Elaina & Lindsey were very attentive to my special needs. Although we ran into a couple of issues, they each found quick solutions & made my stay more enjoyable. The food is delicious. The service was great! The hotel smelt very good and was clean. Five stars. Great team.

My view from my room - interesting!

Check in was not particularly friendly and I was grilled multiple times about whether or not I had a car with me - which I did - but as valet parking is $35 per day plus tax and I can park right outside for $8 - it was not parked at the hotel! Then I was asked if I wanted a high floor ( there are 6) I was placed on 3. I set one foot into the first room before backing back out - the scent of smoke and sweat was overwhelming! I immediately went down and was switched - to stumble across the cleaner calling me a liar! Room 2 had a strong food smell, looked directly into other rooms and the hallway offered the scent of weed and randomly multiple elderly people who seemed to be doing rehab after knee surgery along the hallways ! Room 3 was fine. They offer - in theory - housekeeping every other day but give you three, small threadbare towels to last you two days even of you have 4 guests! We like multiple other guests had to go hunt more down at the end of day 2 ! The elevators were dirty and our second day a cleaner got in and randomly hit every floor button - pausing to hold the doors open at each level to chat to peers, so zero consideration for guests! Hallways were stuffy with blue painters tape marking the walls! The sofa bed is DISGUSTING with what appeared to be mold on the underside and a threadbare mattress cover that was well beyond its last days! Besides location this is the thing of horror movies and I have made a formal complaint to the Marriott !

My family went today to have a nice girls day. Cheers to 2026. We had planned the day about a month in advance and we're looking forward to it the entire time. Everyone who worked here was very nice and all of us really enjoyed our services (some had multiple) I do just need to say a warning. I've always know Lafayette was once a sundown town even though I grew up there and was hard to picture. So I expect certain people to act a way however it's gotten so much worse in recent years and we are white. So this is a warning to others. My sisters and I were in the hot tub after one of our treatments and we had ordered a couple appetizers and a bottle of bubbles to enjoy. The staff was very nice and brought it out to us in the hot tub and obviously brought it in plastic wine flutes as they know as employees no glass is allowed. About an hour later, an employee or manager approached us and let us know. There had been a complaint about glass in the hot tub. We explained to her and no, this is from your hotel that we ordered (and spent over $100 after spending a lot of money in the spa) and then she asked to verify that we were residence of the hotel and we explained yes we are doing the spa. I want to again state, This is nothing against the employees there. We clearly knew the lady was doing her job. A couple of us get out to go into the locker room to shower and change for dinner that we are going to have on the property (again money to the Park Hotel) and we noticed in the shower area, the swimsuit of a lady who was in the hot tub with us hanging by the shower. She is nowhere in the locker room and my friend notes "she is the one who complained and she must be getting a service right now" We realize that while we were in the hot tub chitchatting amongst ourselves, we brought up two points. 1) is the orange turd going to die this year and 2) why is all a certain type of people posting bad reviews on the Stranger Things episode where Will comes out to people - and SPECIFICALLY said we don't understand why people hold so much hate in their hearts and spend energy on it (this becomes ironic in a bit) While we didn't spend a lot of time talking about either of these, and they're not in excessively political, the lady I will name "Karen" in the hot tub (yes she looked like one) clearly was angry with the conversation the three of us were having and wanted to " get us in trouble" Meanwhile a man in the hot tub was super cordial and even joined in on our convo on airline preferences So this note is just straight for the Karen. We all grew up in Lafayette and we don't need your hate and toxicity in it really. I so really hope that you're not from our area and we're just visiting and staying at the hotel. You almost ruined a perfect day for us. And I wouldn't be as silent if I run into you at Safeway Hope you felt real "powerful", Karen. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the restaurant consistently falls short of Marriott's hospitality standards. On one visit, staff told me I could sit in the rotunda area with my own food (which I must bring for health reasons), and on another, I was told I couldn't--leaving me embarrassed during what was meant to be a birthday spa day. The restaurant is usually empty, and when I brought international guests earlier this summer, we were ignored and never offered menus. After reading similar reviews, it seems other guests have also had underwhelming experiences. I would strongly suggest that Marriott revamp how this restaurant is managed to ensure that it falls in line with their standards of excellence in customer treatment. Also, as they have open seating in the lobby rotunda area next to the restaurant, there should not be selective or uneven enforcement regarding outside food and beverages. Guests often sit there with their own drinks or snacks while working on a laptop or watching TV between activities--sometimes items purchased from the deli, and sometimes their own. I really wanted this place to work because it's beautiful. Unfortunately, it's not welcoming.

The customer service here is excellent -- the front desk staff are friendly, welcoming, and truly try to help. Based on service alone, this would be a 5-star experience. Special recognition goes to Tom, who consistently delivers outstanding, five-star hospitality. He is a major asset to this hotel. Unfortunately, the physical condition of the property significantly brings down the overall experience. The rooms are very outdated, with worn furnishings and visible maintenance issues. On my most recent stay in room 153, the bed was very uncomfortable, the furnishings looked worn, and the bathroom had major problems. The shower/tub did not drain properly, water backed up quickly, and there were rusted fixtures, blotchy paint, and very poor ventilation. The heavily fragranced Dove products were also overpowering. Wi-Fi was extremely poor, especially in room 153, making it difficult to get any work done without using my phone's hotspot. This is a serious issue for business travelers. Breakfast is a bright spot -- the staff in the breakfast area are professional and kind, the food is fresh, and there is a good variety. However, the TV playing strongly political news in the morning is not appropriate for a shared dining space and detracts from an otherwise pleasant experience. Key card issues were another frustration. On both stays, I had repeated problems with cards not working, requiring multiple trips to the front desk. With renovations, better maintenance, and some operational improvements, this hotel could better reflect IHG standards and match the excellent service provided by staff like Tom. Unfortunately, due to the current condition, I likely will not be staying at this location again.

The room was huge! It had a cute little kitchen setup with a dining table, a comfy corner couch in the living area, and two separate bedrooms, which made it feel more like an apartment than a hotel. One room had a queen bed, a good-sized closet with wired shelving, and a super spacious bathroom with the sink area outside the bathroom, always a win when you're trying to get ready without fighting over space. The second bedroom had a king bed, its own walk-in shower, and the same setup with the sink outside the bathroom and open to the room, which made it super easy to multitask (aka watch TV while doing my makeup). The space overall was clean, functional, and comfortable. But my biggest complaint? That awful showerhead. It was grimy, leaking, and had the weakest water pressure. Definitely a letdown in an otherwise great room.... especially when a good shower is one of my top hotel priorities. The bathroom had the potential to be a vibe, but the shower situation totally killed it.

They put me in a handicapped room which was O.K. I noticed mildew in the shower section. The beds need to be changed. it's like you are sleeping on bed springs. No big deal, the price was right. But then red flags waved! THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES. THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES. THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES. I could deal with a lot but not ROACHES. I saw three of them in the washroom. Then saw another in the bedroom area. I had to shake out all of my bags before I left. I don't want to bring these suckers home. Did you hear me? THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES. THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES. THIS PLACE HAS ROACHES. Won't go back. Not with ROACHES.

THE WORST M6 I'VE EVER STAYED AT…read more This Motel 6 is very poorly managed, with no security and horrible housekeeping. I've stayed at this location numerous times and I have been disappointed EVERY SINGLE TIME. No matter what room they put you in, the towels have stains and other people's hairs stuck to them , black mold in the bathrooms, floors in the rooms are dirty and sticky, you can't even come out of your room without smelling cancerous cigarette smoke because Management refuses to tell guests to smoke 25ft away from the building in accordance with California state law. All the parking spaces are incredibly tight and close together, so other guests will hit your car with their door and just not say anything. First time I booked a room for 3 days during Thanksgiving. After I paid for the room (which is non-refundable) they told me their water heater was broken, and I ended up not having any warm or hot water for the entirety of my stay, only freezing cold. The second time I stayed in Room 209, the shower drain was clogged up and the heater was broken. They didn't have any available rooms to move me to but said they would have their Maintenance guy look at it. Maintenance never came. Third time I stayed there I specifically requested "No Room Service" for the day. I then left the motel to grab some food, came back walked in my room and saw housekeeping was moving my personal blanket and clothes off the bed. All my stuff was moved around. Their policy says they are not allowed to touch any personal belongings if they are on the bed. I walked in my room and saw housekeeping moving my stuff with the same dirty latex gloves on that she used to clean and touch garbage with. When I told management about it she said that could never happen because "housekeeping knows they aren't supposed to do that", as if I was just making it up The next time they put me in a conjoined room next to the pool. The room has another door inside that leads to the room next door, so they're basically connected. I was laying in my bed and all of a sudden noticed all I could smell was cigarette smoke. I got up and got down on the ground next to the conjoined door and you could smell it was coming from the room next door. I got up and gathered all my stuff and had to walk down to the front office to ask them to move me. The lady in the front office was nice and moved me 2 doors down, but she never did anything about the guy who was hot boxing a non smoking conjoined room with cigarettes. She just let him stay. Last time I stayed there, they put me in the same room I had stayed in a month prior, Room 209...The shower drain was still clogged and the heater still broken. I couldn't comfortably take a shower and the heater would only blow out cool air no matter how high you set it. Then when I was outside in the parking lot, 2 other guests who I don't know and have never met before, walked up to me out of no where, started an argument with me, said they would pray for me, then told me to shut up and then threatened to have their pitbull attack me. I went and told Debbie the Manager and she said those guests had already checked out and that they would be put on the "Do Not Rent" list so they wouldn't be back. The next day around 9 am, I was sitting in my car and the same crazy lady walks up to my car with her pitbull and starts yelling for her husband "Here he is!". I went straight to the front office to ask Management to tell this lady who threatened to have her dog attack me to stop harassing me... Management then told me that she never threatened me and basically defended the lady who threatened to have her dog attack me for no reason. Everytime I've stayed here at this M6 location I felt like it was a waste of money. Usually $100+ per night and it's ALWAYS drama. I will NEVER go back there. Especially because of the rude delusional 4 foot tall Manager Debbie who looks like she chews on chunks of cement everyday.
