I liked their shampoo/conditioner scented lavender + clementine. The room did have a microwave and fridge. There was a weird stain on my pillow I avoided not sure if it was bleached out or saliva, Pillows are very flat and thin. The walls are THIN could hear your next door neighbors or upstairs foot steps. I do appreciate how quickly front desk solved my noise complaints though. Plenty of parking

Very inexpensive very clean very nice hotel option in Walnut Creek / Pleasant Hill / Concord. Nice clean comfortable beds. Nice clean rooms that smell great. Good service at check in. Impressive gym. Will definitely stay here again! Better than most Hilton properties in the area and I'm a Hilton Diamond member.

Super cute hotel in the middle of Pleasant Hill surrounded by a plethora of food eateries. Staff was pleasant and nice, always greeted by smiles! After hours, the hotel front doors are locked and can only get in via hotel card or staff will let you in. You have a guest parking notice so you can place on dash to let them know you are hotel guests. Definitely will stay here again if we need to hit the area

Just my dog loving is bed. Thanks again, Jay.

I've been staying at this hotel for a couple weeks and it's been a great experience. My review is pretty long, so prepare yourself for my novel of a review. Get yourself something to drink and sit back and relax. Here are some of my favorite things about the hotel. Their bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable. My room has a vaulted ceiling and gorgeous floor ceiling blackout curtains with a giant TV that has HBO and Netflix Outside my room there's a giant patio, which is really nice to sit on at night. They also have a brand new little dog park, which is gated in and has plenty of space for my little dogs to play. Parking is easy and so far has been extremely safe, which is awesome I love my couch as well because it has outlets and I can easily charge my devices and work from the sofa. There's also an oversized ottoman that you can put your feet up on The shower has beautiful glass doors and really nice white tiles on the wall. Best part about it though is it has good water pressure, which is huge for getting all the shampoo out of my hair. The shower also has shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. They don't use the little plastic bottles which I love because those are terrible for the environment. It's also very quiet and peaceful here. Most of the people here are workers from out of town who go to work early in the morning and come back in the evening so most of the time I have the hotel to myself. They also have a snack shop upfront so when I'm feeling lazy, I can go up and buy snacks which is great because DoorDash can get expensive The maids do a fantastic job cleaning the rooms. I came back and it was like I've never even stayed in the room. It was sparkling. I haven't had the breakfast here, but I've seen their spread and it's very nice. I love interior design and their lobby is stunning. Jay, the general manager, was very nice and gave me a large dog bed and water dish for my dogs. They also have complementary dog snacks in the lobby. Just another little perk that makes it feel like home for me and my dogs. Thank you guys so much for making my stay wonderful. I love this hotel

Arm bites

Bed Bugs!! Bedbugs! Filthy place! Horrible experience... 4 nights and each night got bites! Upon checkout the Mgr Jay (owners - replace this guy!) told me that 'they checked and none were found'... amazingly stupid! Didn't apologize and was rude! Avoid this place if you're a person of color as this mgmt team will treat you poorly!!

What a pleasure to have stayed at the Sonesta Select in Pleasant Hill! The rooms are large and comfortable, but that isn't the only reason why I am leaving this review. The staff here are phenomenal. The general manager, Jay, went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. We were in the process of moving and he was incredibly helpful, kind and supportive. It's not often you meet people who are genuinely interested in providing the best experience possible. Our thanks to Jay and the rest of the staff at the Sonesta. I give this hotel a 10 out of 10 ra

Beef short ribs

Decent hotel. BUT best part is the new restaurant 'The Royale', right in the carpark - serving breakfast brunch and lunch (and soon dinner). Coffee is excellent. The food is excellent -The menu is a perfect blend of American inspired comfort food and Asian fusion twist. Great menu to choose from. Perfect place to meet for a lunch meeting - Atmosphere is clean & classy with beautiful windows and light and not over-done. Not loud - Can't recommend enough. We had the Ahi Tuna salad (light and very tasty), Chicken & waffle (nailed it ), Beef short rib dinner (melt in your mouth tender) and candied bacon (next level). Staff are warm and welcoming and absolutely know what they're doing. This is the sister restaurant to the famous Lapisara in SF and clearly they are great operators. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a winner. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

It had a cute little kitchen setup with a dining table, a comfy corner couch in the living area, and two separate bedrooms, which made it feel more like an apartment than a hotel. One room had a queen bed, a good-sized closet with wired shelving, and a super spacious bathroom with the sink area outside the bathroom, always a win when you're trying to get ready without fighting over space. The second bedroom had a king bed, its own walk-in shower, and the same setup with the sink outside the bathroom and open to the room, which made it super easy to multitask (aka watch TV while doing my makeup). The space overall was clean, functional, and comfortable. But my biggest complaint? That awful showerhead. It was grimy, leaking, and had the weakest water pressure. Definitely a letdown in an otherwise great room.... especially when a good shower is one of my top hotel priorities. The bathroom had the potential to be a vibe, but the shower situation totally killed it.

When I first walked in the room, I could immediately smell that it had been cleaned yet it did not give off any chemical smell - I am very sensitive to chemical odors and can get headaches from them. The sheets, linens, shower, and surfaces all appeared very clean. The only minus, which is why I took away a star, was some of the utensils in my kitchen area had very visible food remnants on them and one of the knives had a large thumbprint, so I made sure to take utensils from the breakfast area instead and did not feel comfortable using any of the dish-ware or drink-ware either, given the state of the utensils. This was very gross but overall I was impressed with the overall cleanliness. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and made check in a breeze. The spaciousness of the room itself was wonderful and I found everything to be very comfortable. I had been able to pick out my room in advance on the app and chose a corner room on the top floor - it was very quiet despite it's proximity to the freeway. The room was dark overall but the only issue was the outlet in the bathroom had a nightlight built in which could not be turned off! I had to stack a couple things in front of it to block out the light that was very close to the bed. I stayed at 3 hotels on my fall break trip and this one had by far the best quality and best variety of free breakfast options. I really appreciate having this. As a young single woman, I felt very safe in the neighborhood when walking into the hotel late at night. I hadn't realized when booking the hotel that it was actually across the street from the apartments my brother and his family used to live in - so I knew upon arrival it was a very safe area. I would absolutely stay here again and felt the value was there for the price I paid.

Marcus at…read morethe bar was absolutely wonderful--always smiling, welcoming, and providing great customer service. The young ladies at the front desk and the breakfast staff were also fantastic. They are the bright spot of this property. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is another story. I travel weekly for work and stay in hotels constantly, and I would rate the condition and cleanliness of this property 2 stars at best. What bothers me most is that the owners/management have allowed the rooms to get into this condition while leaving the front-of-house employees to deal with the complaints day after day. That is incredibly unfair to a staff that is clearly working hard and doing its best. Shame on the owners for putting them in that position. If you work all day, grab dinner, and only come back to crash for the night, you can make it work. But if you're looking for a genuinely clean, well-maintained hotel where you can relax and feel comfortable spending time in your room, this would not be my choice. The staff deserves 5 stars. The condition of the hotel does not.

However, at 6 a.m. one male front desk employee insisted that I had used the parking, even after I explained that I did not have a car and was using Uber. He suggested that maybe I had visitors. It was ridiculous. Instead of making assumptions, he should have simply checked the charge. I also had a bad experience with Martha in the breakfast area. I asked for bananas because my daughter had surgery, and later asked for a spoon. She responded rudely and yelled at me to go to the front desk and ask for a spoon. I understand there are rules, but there is a respectful way to speak to guests. Some staff were wonderful, but these two experiences negatively affected my stay.

Other negatives were a relatively small room and having to pay for parking within a larger free lot. They did have a breakfast box (with apple) available in the morning and fresh brewed coffee on request at the front desk (a huge plus compared to those in-room packets). Other pluses were front desk staff who were friendly and helpful, and the fact that there were lots of restaurant choices (then take-out only) just across the street (or in the case of Boston Market across the parking lot). Using my Marriott Bonvoy Visa, I did picked up some travel points on the spend as well as the stay. I really look forward to using them someday soon.

Shortly after booking, I called the reservation department and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom instructed me to contact the hotel directly to add my husband's name to the reservation. I then called the hotel and spoke with Adam at the front desk. He told me that the person whose name was on the reservation had to check in and present the payment card. At no point did he tell me that my husband's name needed to be listed first on the reservation. To make sure everything was correct, I contacted Hotels.com and had both my name and my husband's name added to the reservation. When my husband arrived to check in with his service animal, Adam refused to check him in, stating that because my name was listed first, he could not honor the reservation. When I called Adam to explain that he had never mentioned anything about the order of the names on the reservation, he continued changing his explanation instead of acknowledging that he had provided incomplete information. He was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the conversation. After refusing service, my husband asked Adam to provide his refusal in writing. Adam declined and simply told him, "You can contact the manager on Monday." This entire situation could have been avoided if accurate information had been provided from the beginning. Instead, we were given conflicting instructions, treated disrespectfully, and denied the accommodations we had reserved. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, and I would not recommend staying at this location.
