You wouldn't expect an old saloon way out in Bolinas to have such delicious, fresh Mexican food, but they do! Not only were the burritos and tacos delicious, but the pico, the guac, the green AND red salsas were all basically perfect - fresh, delicious, not too spicy, the exact flavor profile I want from each one! Seriously, the tangy green sauce was delicious and barely spicy, while the red sauce was just spicy enough and had a ton of that smokey flavor that makes it so good! And those THICK, crunchy, salty chips - those are the exact right chips! They also have a great drink selection, and I'll probably come back sometime for lunch so I have an excuse to try their local coffee and breakfast cocktails. Also worth mentioning that if you drive another 100 feet down the road, the ocean is right there.

We took on Alamere falls and it was a lot of fun. On the way back our car broke down and we stopped in the lovely town of Bolinas. Our first move was to try to find a mechanic. The locals pointed us to someone named Sean. We went to a bar to try to find him only for someone there to tell us he was in Richmond. I love that all the locals there knew this one mechanic. Eventually we called AAA to get the car towed and they came within an hour which was impressive Next on the agenda was to call an Uber to get us out of here. After roughly twelve attempts to call an Uber we found one. Our plan is to first Uber to Mill Valley and then try to catch something to S.F. While waiting we got some food here. The food was quite good. The fish tacos are very flavorful with excellent salsa. They had a robust menu of vegan options a the vegan chicken bowl is really good and ethically sourced to boot! If you are ever in Bolinas I highly recommend this restaurant!

First of all this is a very authentic experience at this very typical English Pub and Inn. I lived…read morein one for three summers back in the day. It's easy enough to find and the parking lot is a decent size, if you're a guest for the Inn park in the spot referenced by your room number. I went in the door and was greeted by the desk host, check in was as easy as they come. She walked me up to our room pointing out the necessary. Our single key worked on our room door but not on the outside door to enter the Inn as we were told it would. Yes we found WiFi once we got down to the pub the one modern convenience we needed but only two electrical sockets in the room, one in the bathroom. No flat screen, no AC, I found a space heater and a fan in the closet...Okay. we'll manage. The bed was quite high and there is a step stool to help climb into bed. Lots of yummy sheets and a quilt. The mattress was good, not great, two sides of the bed are against the wall. (Somebody's crawling over) The bathroom was small of course, only one in the shower, soap and stuff dispensers on the wall. Our window opened to the front yard, a nice ocean breeze kept us cool. Quaint and yet a bit noisy next door until everyone settles down for bed. Dinner downstairs (a separate review) After dinner we walked a half mile to Muir beach and enjoyed the sun set, perfect. No Pub partying for us these days, we woke up early for our Muir Woods adventure today. Included is a freshly cooked English breakfast (other options too) outside was cool, damp, and foggy this morning. Welcome to summer on the california coast. This feels like home. and that's where we are headed after our Redwood hunt. Martin-foodguy

We stopped in for drinks and absolutely loved the atmosphere. They have a great selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, making it a wonderful place to relax after exploring nearby Muir Beach. The inn itself is full of charm and character. There are several cozy rooms and seating areas, each with its own unique feel. I especially loved the dark, old-world ambiance and the fact that they use real candles throughout the building, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere that is hard to find these days. Although we didn't stay overnight, we learned that the property also operates as a small hotel with a handful of guest rooms, which makes it even more special. I can easily imagine spending a weekend here. One thing dog owners should know: dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio if you're ordering food. If you're just stopping by for drinks, there are also a few benches on the lawn where you can sit with your dog and enjoy a beverage while admiring the beautiful cottage-style building and surrounding grounds. We did exactly that and loved it. Whether you're looking for lunch, a drink, a cozy place to unwind, or simply want to wander around and enjoy the unique setting, I highly recommend stopping by. It's a charming hidden gem just minutes from Muir Beach and one of the most memorable places we visited during our trip.

Pancake Breakfast Review: The food is just a nice way to say thank you for supporting the cause…read more And while the cause is a good reason, it's only part of the reason to make this journey. Here, it's all about the journey and not the destination. If making breakfast were the actual reason this place existed, it would have gone out of business long ago. They are dog-friendly, but no dogs (service dogs excluded) are allowed on the deck or inside the building. Speaking of the deck: a gentle reminder to those who have finished breakfast, have empty plates in front of them, and are still leisurely sipping their beverages while people stand around waiting for a table -- you are not renewing a lease! Please give others a chance to sit down and enjoy their breakfast. The deck is communal seating, not a waiting room. Once you've finished eating, consider letting someone else have a turn. Be kind. Be aware. And, most importantly, don't be those people.

Last night, Marilyn and I drove about 15 minutes from our home inMill Valley tothe Mountain Home Inn located on Mt. Tamalpais. we hadnt been there for years. The Inn has a main dining room, but it's up 3 steps, and bot accessible for those of us using wheelchairs. On the main floor, there's a short bar with maybe 4-6 chairs (no lowered accessible section) and only wine and beer are served. There is an accessible bathroom on 5he main floor and maybe 6-8 small dining tables. We sat at one next to the door to the outside deck and had a wonderful view of the Bay Area! The Inn has a number of guest rooms, including one that is accessible. There is also a lower dining room for overnight guests. Our serving staff, Kelly, (I hope I got that right!) was warm, friendly, and very professional. (Thank you!!!) and the food was wonderful! Marilyn and I each had a 1/2 Ceasar Salad. Although the salad tasted more like it had a pre-made dressing, it was OK, but didn't meet the flavors of a true Ceasar Salad like I would make at the customers's table, that included a coddled egg and smashed anchovies that were then mixed with fresh-squeezed lemon juice and Lee & Perrins Sauce! But, I know that very few restaurants prepare Ceasar Salads fresh at the table, so I won't suggest that the Mountain Home Inn failed with our Ceasar Salad. Just dreaming of what used to be! Marilyn ordered the Calamari starter as her entre, and I ordered th MushroMushroom Ravioli as mine. Both were "on the mark"! The Calamari was an entree size, and clearly deep fried in fresh oil, and not overcooked. My mushroom raviolis, and the sauce, were amazing! And during drinks and dinner, a guitarist provided wonderful accoustic music, and later, sang a few songs. Whats not to like? I would say, the Mountain Home Inn hit a 9 out of 10 last night. Staff even guaranteed us a beautiful sunset over the Bay! We will return!
