Sparrow coffee is everything I want in a local, cozy coffee shop. Space to sit and stay awhile, absolutely amazing espresso creations and tasty sweet and savory menu items! It's definitely the kind of space you'll find working professionals sipping coffee while answering emails during the week, so be warned it does seem to be busy on weekday mornings! But if you can snag a seat and stay for more than just a latte, I highly recommend the avocado toast, it's stacked with flavor! The pastries here are buttery and flaky too. I personally always love a chocolate croissant! My little one loves that the staff are right in sight and you can watch them craft together your espressos drinks while sitting at the counter.
Recently recognized as one of the top 100 coffee shops in North America and I feel they truly earned it. They should be recognized. They supply the coffee to more than half of the Michelin star restaurants in Chicago No, this isn't Starbucks. You aren't going to find a thousand low calorie syrups and specialty drinks because they only use house made simple syrups. Nothing with additives that will taint their delicious coffee. They take it seriously. They have amazing pastries that are house made by their own chefs in Chicago's west loop. No high volume stuff shipped in from vendors. This isn't just a coffee shop. It's a place to sit down and grab a bite Sparrow gets slammed and it can be hard to find any seating, but there's a reason why it gets so busy. People recognize quality. Service is wonderful. They heavily staff the shop and assign multiple workers at every station. They also make an effort to remember their regulars' names. Rarely do I have to be asked what my name is. Often times, someone will see my name on the ticket and personally bring me my coffee. I also love that they have an extensive training program. It takes months of training to earn a spot in order to work the espresso machines. Love the ambiance. It's a regular ritual of mine to sit in the shop and enjoy my time drinking my latte.
Very cute inside - we stopped by on a Sunday morning and it was packed!! There were 4 of us and luckily someone got up and freed up a 2 person table an we were able to pull up 2 chairs. This is a hard place to come in a big group unless you get there early. The guy working the register was very helpful with all of the questions I asked him. I ordered a vanilla oat milk latte and a Brekky sandwich. The coffee was AMAZING!!! I loved mine and savored every sip. It has been a while since I've had a coffee this good. The brekkie sandwich was hot and fresh! It was a little fatty from the pork, sweet from the pepper jam, eggy goodness. I really enjoyed it! A little sticky from the pepper jam but eat with a fork and knife and you'll be good. Overall I was very impressed with Sparrow!! Will definitely be back for another latte when we're in town.
Location is convenient (and actually has street parking at 7AM), quite busy with a good amount of walk-in traffic mixed with people working or just hanging out. Service is friendly and pretty quick. The seating is a mix of one long farm bench that seats 20 or so, 6 countertop stools and window seating that is a mix of stools and bench cushions.
Great cafe with a lot of menu options for drinks and food. The cafe gets super busy in the mornings so if you're looking for a spot to sit, it might be difficult, unless you get there before 8:30am. The chocolate croissant is delicious and the ham and cheese sandwich is really good. The staff is really friendly and patient which is nice. Just a warning, the pricing is fairly high, so something to keep in mind.
Sparrow Coffee in Naperville is one of those spots that instantly makes sense the moment you walk in -- the vibes are great, the service is friendly, and the place is always buzzing for a reason. The staff is warm and super efficient, even when it's busy, and the whole space has that modern, cozy energy that makes you want to stay awhile. They've got an impressive selection of desserts and snacks, plus tons of drink options -- tea, coffee, smoothies, you name it. We tried the mocha coffee and it was amazing -- rich, balanced, and full of flavor. We also got a green smoothie made with fresh fruits, and it was unreal. You can taste the difference immediately. Love this spot, and it's no surprise it's always packed. Highly recommend if you want great coffee, good vibes, and a place that truly delivers every time!
This place was recommended to us and I thought it would be all hype, but it's actually fantastic! Beautiful variety of coffee, food, and pastry selections. Service was fast. I loved my ham and cheese croissant and my husband loved his ham sandwich. There was ample seating, but they were already getting busy at 7:30am so I can see them being very popular. We would come back! Limited parking out front since they are downtown. But if you are just picking up, you should be fine.
Tiny spot, big vibes! This coffee shop is basically the Wi-Fi jungle--lots of people camped out with laptops, probably writing the next great novel. There's some outdoor seating if you like your coffee with a side of sunshine (or traffic noise--it's a gamble). It's tucked into a hotel, so you might accidentally become a guest if you wander too far. Good news: there's a parking garage nearby, so your car can chill while you caffeinate. I didn't try the food (wasn't feeling snacky), but the coffee hit the spot. Not many coffee shops around here, so this one feels like a caffeine oasis. But if it's packed, there's a giant Starbucks down the street.
Great service, love the quiet family friendly, student and business friendly area to work on school work/ business needs. And if you love peanut butter and chocolate I 100% recommend their Chocolate and peanut butter shake great drink any day of the week.
We came to Sparrow for an afternoon pick me up. At 1 PM, this place was packed! While the lattes were for were good, they were quite pricy. I definitely would come again, but sparingly given how expensive it was. However, great location in the heart of downtown Naperville!
Sparrow Coffee is THE coffee spot in Downtown Naperville. Located next to the street entrance of Hotel Indigo, there is always a crowd on the weekends. They offer a variety of coffee and tea drinks as well as pastries, breakfast entrees, sweet treats and more. They source their own coffee beans which gives a personal touch to the experience. This visit, I got the 10oz Salted Caramel Latte and shared a warm Cinnamon Roll with my fiancé. My latte was strong but flavor was subtle; I did love the milk art! The Cinnamon Roll was perfectly warm & easy to cut; the cream cheese frosting was amazing. My fiancé got a 10oz chai latte which fell more on the spiced side but was a bit watery. I was thankful that two seats opened up right as our items were ready to enjoy. It was fun to watch the staff hustle to make drinks and see the work flow. Overall, we enjoyed starting our morning with Sparrow Coffee. They get a lot of hotel customers but it's always good. I'd love to see some more specialty drink flavors or variety of syrups but coffee beans have good flavor. Tip: Sparrow Coffee hosts coffee classes throughout the month! I loved seeing postings for milk art, how to make syrups, etc. How cool!
A cute coffee shop in Hotel Indigo. There is an exit only door, so take a look before trying to enter. The space itself is very pretty and there is a good amount of seating. It is a share seating situation, so a long table and then some counter seats around the perimeter. We ordered: - Iced Latte - Coffee Chocolate Cookie - Flaky Biscuit Egg & Cheese (w/Pork Belly) - Cold Brew The coffee is pretty solid, I really enjoyed the cold brew. The coffee cookie did not taste of coffee, but the biscuit was pretty flavor albeit expensive. Definitely check this place out if you're in Naperville.
Great coffee shop!! You have it all, from treats to sandwiches to amazing coffee! Came here to get some work done and the service is great! Very helpful and very polite. The ambiance is hectic but its because alot of people come here. We had a flat white, double shot expresso and ham, egg and cheese treat. This was all amazing, a bit pricey for $14 breakfast sandwich but worth it! Will def be returning. Thank you!

The best part about hitting up Sparrow on a busy Saturday morning is the front row seat to the wedding parties taking photos on the Riverwalk or florists delivering the bridal bouquets. Otherwise the weekends are BUSY! But the line moves fast! This space is big, but it fills up fast. There's a large communal table, mini "cabaret" seating arrangements on the windows, bar seating on the sides and even outdoor seating (new!). The order ands post spot is right at the door, so there's really no time to admire the pastry you'd like in line:( Fail! But if you're lucky enough to stay longer than your cup of coffee, you can order a pastry to go;) Their pastries and food items are out of this world- I usually get the toast with carmelized onion butter. It's a thick multi grain with the most amazing butter spread! They have toast options though, and they're all phenomenal for being just bread. They always have fancy espresso drinks but you really only get alerted to those on their outdoor signage. While Sparrow isn't in the heart of DT Naperville, it's still plenty busy from hotel guests and people who KNOW how great Sparrow is! read more

Love this cute little coffee shop! Came here after my doctors appointment where I was fasting so of course I was so hungry by the time I got here! I was actually pretty impressed with number vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered a salted caramel latte and a spicy grilled cheese sandwich. The latte was the perfect amount of flavorful and sweet. For alternative milks, they only carry two types which is oat and soy FYI. The grilled cheese sandwich was also super delicious! My favorite coffee shop! The high-quality latte is consistently impressive. Each cup is crafted with care and topped with beautiful milk foam. The best part about Sparrow is that they welcome dogs, so Coco and I can always come inside and enjoy the wonderful coffee time! read more

Since going in on a Saturday morning it was busy but still super fast! I did love the atmosphere being able to see all the workers in each of their stations and watching how the drinks were made. I got a cold brew with oat milk and Carmel, next time i will skip the oat milk. Overall 10/10 would get again when I am in the area! read more

This place has become our "go to" coffee shop ever since we moved to the suburbs and hands down the best in Naperville. It's a cute shop with bright ambiance and it's usually crowded. I have seen a lot of people work from here. Coming to the food, we have tried almost every item and the quality of ingredients are excellent. My personal favourite is their spicy grilled cheese sandwich and their chai latte. They brew their tea in house and don't use any pre made tea concoction. My husband is a big fan of their coffee and the croissants. It's a must try place in Naperville Downtown. read more
Good visit to this coffee shop in Downtown Naperville. It's nice to go to a coffee and tea shop and get a proper tea. And they make Theo own Chai! Chai was of excellent taste! Note you can only get Chai with whole milk! Nice causal environment. One star off from perfection due to lack of cleanliness. When you pay significant cash for a tea, you expect a clean place to sit. I had to clean the table and seat from coffee and crumbs. I hope the site will keep up with its place to create a welcoming environment to compliment their great drinks! read more

This has been one of my favorite local coffee roasters for a long time. I always stop when I'm in downtown Naperville. I typically buy beans for home use, but their lattes and americanos are perfect. I was fortunate to attend a latte art class put on by their marvelous staff. The details put into this two-hour course were remarkable. It was extremely inspiring to get behind their beautiful coffee bar and see how these incredible drinks are made. I am looking forward to taking more classes there. read more

I stayed at Hotel Indigo so naturally, I should go downstairs to the first level to try out Sparrow Coffee. They did not disappoint on the coffee. I ordered a latte sub oat milk and it tasted great with a smooth, creamy, velvety texture and the coffee is medium robustness with a slight hint of acidity. It's a good balance for me. On the other hand, the main reason I knocked down a star is due to their avocado toast. While the presentation is beautiful, the flavor didn't all come together. It needed a bit more sweet acid kick from the pickled onions and a little bit more seasoning as it was pretty bland. There was a healthy sprinkle of shredded cheddar underneath the avocado mash but I couldn't taste it at all. Nonetheless, the coffee is definitely worth trying if you've never had it and you are staying at this hotel. I'll try another food item next time but will for sure skip the avocado toast. read more

I've been meaning to check out Sparrow Coffee based on the good reviews and its location in downtown Naperville by the river. Sparrow is located right next to Indigo Hotel. If you're looking for an elevated coffee experience, Sparrow will not disappoint. You'll be paying for the luxury of it and the selection of espresso drinks and teas. I went with a 20 oz hot matcha latte with whole milk costing me $8. Not for the faint of heart. It was diligently crafted with beautiful latte art, and it was right in the middle of sweet and bitter - balanced. There's drip coffee too, but that's also quite expensive ($4-5) so you might as well get yourself a cappuccino or something made to order. Like any respectable cafe, there's a variety of baked goods to choose from but also a handful of food items like waffles, avocado toast, and such for something more filling. read more
Tried this coffee place with my husband, it's pretty cool. The vibe was amazing, we started off with a chocolate chip cookie and pistachio & coffee macaroons. The cookie was just delicious with both sweet and savory flavor. Macaroons were great too. Being vegetarian I had avocado toast which was just exceptional & tasty. Love the way it was presented with radish, arugula and pickled leeks. My husband had breakfast sandwich which was awesome too. As the place was super busy it tool a while to get out avocado toast and sandwich. There is plenty of parking on the street for 15 mins pickups and for dine in there is a garage at the back. I would highly recommend this place! MUST TRY! read more

Really great coffee here! This coffee shop was such an unexpected find as I was passing through town and needed a quick caffeinated pick me up. My partner and I tried a quiche and I ordered a latte to enjoy on their mini outdoor patio area. There were many people chatting or doing work inside the shop while we were visiting. The staff were friendly and pleasant to talk to, and our order came out quickly. Both items were delicious. Would definitely come back here in the future! read more
I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, and the total was $7.77. Kind of expensive in my opinion, but the taste was phenomenal. It wasn't the BEST vanilla latte I've ever had, but that's because I've tried a lot in my day lol. The syrup was all at the bottom, so I had to stir that in, but once I did it was perfect. Such a cute location too!!! The girls at the register were so nice for it being a chaotic, LOUD, Saturday morning in there. read more
