Man do these kids make a mean pie. Perfectly located near Mt.Hood, I don't think you can find a better fuel source after a day of shredding, hiking, swimming, or breathing. The Californian is definitely my favorite with the white sauce perfectly complimenting the red peppers and artichoke hearts. A close second is their pepperoni which has just the perfect amount of grease and salt to compliment that tttthhhhhiccccc crust. Now the only reason I am not giving these guys 5 stars is no fault of the kitchen staff but management. Prices on YELP are not accurate so I suggest checking their website to know what you'll be charged. Second, after craving a pepperoni pizza for 4 days of hiking through Mt.Hood I was extremely disappointed when notified that Sparky's pepperoni dealer was MIA leaving them sans Roni. This place has gone downhill, big time. A few weeks ago I ordered a Sicilian, got it home and it was a pepperoni I didn't think to look since it said Sicilian on the tag. When I called in they gave me no option other than I could bring it back for an exchange but would have to wait 45min for them to remake it. When I asked to speak with a manager there wasn't one on duty. Today since there's not many pizza options around we went there again but thought we should check our food before leaving. The bread sticks were burnt so we asked if we could have new ones which they did along with making faces at each other while we asked for new ones. So, travelled to Welches and decided to try this 'well loved-looking' pizza place. While waiting on my order there was a line for pizza orders and the place smelled heavenly. After getting my food (loved that they serve slice or whole pizzas), I took it to my hotel and was in total pizza-bliss. I was actually sad that I didn't dig in at the restaurant. Great pizza but service is terrible! I give this location props and more props for best pizza. This is our go to place after riding at Meadows and have our friends hooked. A few employees are super cool, but we seem to catch days where the counter girl could care less about customers and is quite snippy. We dread seeing her because we know she will roll her eyes and make snide remarks, but the pizza is that good so we put up with terrible service. Pretty disappointed with the experience. Ordered my pizza and waited in the lobby for my pizza. The guy forgot about me and after 30 min I asked and he said it was almost done. We stopped here yesterday for dinner after snowshoeing all day. It's a small, hole in the wall kind of joint but I think it will become our new tradition after playing on the Mountain! Meh. I usually ADORE sparkys. Me and my boyfriend love to go here, each get a slice and share a breadstick. Well today, service was not that good. We asked to get it heated and she heated it for about 3 seconds. Was still cold. The breadstick was the same deal. Cold. And it also had none of the garlic spread on it so it was just plain bread. The employees were also laughing about how the till was under about $100. They seemed more focused on talking rather than delivering good service. After a long, exhausting weekend I decided on my way back up the mountain to make one last stop in Sandy to pick up a pizza. I should have know better before deciding to go to this location. There is always some kind of issue that occurs when we either try to eat there or pick something up. My experience yesterday was no different. The place was a mess as usual. I called in my pizza ahead of time, but when I arrived to pick it up it wasn't ready. The young girl behind the counter looked in the oven and told me it was going to take about 5 min and my pizza would be ready. No problem, I told her. I let her know I was going to have a seat and wait and to let me know when it's ready. 5 minutes came and went, then 15 min, 20 and then 25 minutes. The entire time I'm sitting there making eye contact with every employee standing behind the counter. At no point did they ask if I needed help, if I was waiting for something, nothing! My patience finally expired and I approached the counter to approach the young girl that originally helped me. I politely asked her if my pizza was ready, because it has been much longer than the 5 minutes she had told me it would take. She looked at me like she had never seen me before, that confused, deer caught in the headlights look. She looked around the counter and then looked on top of one of the ovens and grabbed my pizza from there. She said "oh, I'm not sure how long it's been sitting there, but the bottom of the box is warm." She placed it on the counter and at that point I was so frustrated and exhausted, I decided to grab my pizza, bite my tongue and continue my travels. Never again will I eat here and based on the complaints I heard from the other patrons while I was waiting I would suggest others take their business elsewhere. There are other great establishments in the area that will offer a much better level of customer service and have your food to you when they promise. read more

Sparky's feels like a NY pizza place. First, all the Yankees memorabilia on the walls (some truly amazing stuff). Second, you can order by the slice. Third, if you close your eyes and just taste, you'd swear you're somewhere on Broadway. The food is great, the prices are reasonable (even better on Mondays) and the staff is always friendly. It's a small place, with only about 5 tables and a bar type seating area, so a party of 20 will fill up the place. Definitely recommended, especially when you're coming back from skiing! read more

The pizza was great but the customer service was awful, not going back because of this. There was a full line (5+) and no one was helping, we literally had to call the register person over. When making my choice of slices they pretended like the slice I wanted wasn't there, a customer behind us was like "Is she joking? It's right there". We were driving through Sandy from Portland to Walton Lake when we ordered from Sparky's. I've been to their MLK location in Portland numerous times for a slice and some sticks and have always left happy. As I sat passenger seat my three friends in the back yelled at me different toppings to get while the driver was asking me for directions, however the girl on the phone was very accommodating. I asked for a half and half pizza with two toppings on one side and three on the other and asked for an order of breadsticks. I didn't know the size's but she said she'd make enough for all of us and it'd be 20 minutes. We arrived in exactly 20 minutes and our order was ready. She was the only person in the shop and greeted us with a smile and a good attitude. The food was great and the Giant pizza was more than enough for five twenty-something year old guys. Highly disappointed with their take out service. My first order I called in to this pizza location I spoke to a young man who placed my order, when I showed up to get my pizza they had not written it down or had misplaced the order. My pizza was not made and the same man I spoke to on the phone denied that he even took a call in and asked if I called the right location. I then checked my phone and it was indeed the same location and the mans voice was very distinctive. Tonight I decided to try again. When I walked through the doors it was not busy at all yet again they did not have my order that I called in 30 minutes prior. They were very un organized and frantic. I was not happy. Luckily they had a pizza made the same as i ordered. I will most likely never come Back and every review to my friends will be of this story. Sparkys sandy! You need more organization!!! Period. Staying locally on vacation from southern California and we pulled in here after debating between Sparky's or something from Safeway. Placed our order, was told it'd be 20-30 minutes from one of the four employees working there and sat down to wait. We talked about our day and what we had planned for the next and didn't notice when 30 minutes went by, but it was apparent that something was wrong about how the staff prioritized their time when we realized we were alone and an hour had elapsed. I approached the counter and asked about our order whereupon I was told that it was nearly done. We were given it two or three minutes later, but we couldn't help but think that it had been sitting there for some time before we asked about it. An hour for a pizza? Not only that, but they screwed up the order. Save yourself time and get something somewhere else. An apology isn't good enough; comp the customer something. read more
