They have meat from Rihms locker, and mix it with cheese and onions on a buttery grilled bun. Excellent diner style steak sandwich. The decor is ecclectic and plenty to look at while you have your beer. It reminds me of the Toby Keith song, "I love this bar." There are bikers, farmers, firemen, hippies, chain smokers and boozers. You can go here to laugh and have a conversation with a stranger, or sit in silence at the bar with a drink. It is a true classic "dive bar". It is locally owned, and you can tell that the owner truly cares about her patrons. We stopped in on the evening of Thanksgiving. I thought it was so neat that the owner had assembled a Thanksgiving dinner for all of her normal patrons. You don't find a family, "we are all in this together" atmosphere like that very often anymore. Warning: they do allow smoking.

On entering around 1:30 pm on a Thursday, there were two couples standing at the unattended "please wait to be seated" sign, and I observed about half the tables in the front dining room had guests; the other half were covered with dirty dishes. Not wanting to spend an excessive amount of time, I peeked around the corner and observed two open seats at the small bar, so we took them instead. We had to move a dirty plate and glass over to the end of the bar. After about six minutes of sitting there with no bartender appearing we decided to just get a drink, and go elsewhere later for food. Finally a gal approached us, and it seemed that she was the only staff member on duty for both dining rooms and the bar. She was nice enough, but it was disappointing that she couldn't have just removed the dirty dishes which were six inches from my husband's elbow, not to mention the bar wasn't wiped down. The dishes were still there when we left. We caught her passing through after a while to ask for the tab, which was $7.77. My husband put down a $20 bill and she brought back $12.00. Now I realize some places are in a state of panic hysteria over "penny shortages" but you don't just round UP a guest's tab and certainly not by almost a quarter. Some places give you a discount for cash; this one penalizes you. The decor is nice, rustic and countrified. I don't know how the food is obviously. As we were leaving I noticed the front dining room tables still hadn't been cleared and we were there about 20 minutes.

Beers named 'Socks and Sandals, Pull My Finger, I'll Turn this Car Around' and many more. Their tin tacker is of a slightly obese dad in an undersized sleeveless shirt, headband and white New Balance sneakers riding a beer can. Perfection. Genius! While their humor got me in the door, their pizza and beer will get me to come back. I got my standard flight with I'll Turn This Car Around (Hazy IPA), Kiss the Cook (DIPA), Snooze Button (Imperial Stout) and a Tapestry of Obscenity (IPA). All were really great but The Snooze Button was my favorite of the bunch. We also got a couple of pizzas. A Detroit style called Motown with thick pepperoni, hot honey, and basil which was very tasty and a Margherita pizza that was solid. My only issue was they were out of stickers for my man cave wall but that's just all the reason to go back next time I visit my parents in Indiana.
