My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

The way it was presented felt like they were using fear to pressure us -- repeatedly saying things like "we just want to ensure safety" in a way that made us feel like our car was dangerous to drive unless we agreed right then and there. Not only was the cost much lower, but we were told that several of the repairs Stan's claimed were needed weren't necessary at all. In other words, they tried to scare us with "safety" language in order to sell work we didn't need -- and at an inflated price. This left us feeling misled and taken advantage of. Car repairs are stressful enough without being manipulated by fear. We would not recommend Stan's Automotive and strongly suggest anyone considering them get a second opinion before agreeing to their repairs.

Following disagreements, my car had two tire punctures after leaving Christian Brothers. I have documentation of tire service a couple days before going there. They wanted $300 to tell me it would cost $4k. My car drove worse after these "repairs" at CB, sluggish engine barely getting up the hill while I drove with my kids on 36, triggering an engine warning. Cheap part left oil leaking out of my engine, they explained. "That can happen." I suspected they didn't replace it the first time. I kept being addressed as "Miss Amanda" over and over. All interactions are creepy/steer clear. Twice got my car back from CB during this encounter with lights going off within a day.

I have had my camper van in to Repair Masters twice now over a span of 9 months. One repair was pretty involved, new intake manifold gasket, new motor mounts and other maintenance and the second issue was electrical in nature but not as involved. I waited to post a review until I was sure the repairs were lasting because I have been misled and disappointed by mechanics many times in the past. I have been totally happy with both repairs and feel they were done right. The communication with Repair Masters has always been honest and timely. The price is in line with what others charge and I feel they gave me value for my money spent. The people who work there are helpful and do make you feel as though they appreciate your patronage. When they called me with this information, they stated the true fix would cost over $8,000. I took my vehicle to another auto shop and their diagnosis stated nothing about the "true fix" Roadmasters said it would take to get my vehicle running again. After paying a FRACTION of what Roadmasters said it would cost, the other shop fixed it and a week later it is running just fine. I am not sure if Roadmasters waas trying to take advantage of me being a woman, or if they just flat out completely misdiagnosed the problem, but I will not be taking my vehicle back to this location.
