I found them thru ClassPass and I'm glad I tired them! I've never done so much choreography on the bike as I did here- so fun! The entire class was giving with the music and the energy was great. The front desk staff and coach during class were all fun and approachable. People in the class seemed to know each other too which is a good sign that there are a lot of regulars. Only drawback is parking and finding it in Liberty Station (as least I find liberty station co fusing). I've been going to Sparkcycle for years and absolutely love it! I've tried other spin studios but Spark really stands out. - Each instructor has their own style/music so make sure to check them all out :) - classes start promptly and include stretching + cold eucalyptus (love love love) at the end - Music can get really loud so I always wear ear plugs. - weekly schedules are released on Sunday and you can cancel classes penalty free until 5pm the day before. I really appreciate that - trying to respect unexpected things that may occur but also business to run. - shoes: I have my own but they offer free rentals! - showers/hair dryers/plastic bags are all available post-ride The studio is far from me but I'm willing to make the trek down (even with current gas prices) because there's no place quite like Sparkcycle. read more

It all started when a girlfriend of mine asked me to try out a class (Emily's!!) the day before my birthday.. I went in with thoughts of just giving it a go the one time... and to my surprise I became HOOKED! I was never someone who fancied the idea of driving 30 min to go get a workout in, I would always do my workouts from home with my peloton, or use my complex gym. After now completing 29 rides, I can confidently say that taking the classes with friends, and the amazing staff has now become the therapy I never knew I needed. A solid hour and 45 min of me time. All the of the equipment is in good shape and they give you a cool eucalyptus towel at the end of the class. I like how you can buy class packages so it's not a huge commitment. The studio has the best sound system and they have showers with towel service which is awesome. I always thought of spin class as an intense exercise for people who have high endurance and are already in great shape, so I was hesitant when my friend told me to join her for a class. Fast forward one year and I can't imagine how I ever lived without Sparkcycle. The instructors and front desk staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, you see all shapes and sizes in class (also helps the studio is dark), and while there is a suggested pace and choreography for each song, the instructors make it clear that you can take it at your own pace and choreography is optional. I can honestly say I have found a workout & studio that I enjoy and look forward going to each week. Things to note (based on prior reviews): - Each instructor has a different style, so if you go to a class and you don't like the instructor or music, try a different class before giving up - The music can get loud, they provide earplugs at the front desk for anyone who needs them - Each bike is equipped with a towel and they provide shoes at the front desk if needed - There is a penalty charge for cancelling a class last minute online, but the staff understands that life happens so if there is a one-off situation you can CALL OR EMAIL them and they will reschedule/cancel without the penalty - Class schedules get posted Sunday evenings (5pm) and can book up quickly so if there are limited class times that work with your schedule, you should book as soon as that week's schedule is posted - They have a no phone policy in the studio, but unfortunately it is not strongly enforced read more

Best spin class in San Diego Granted I've only been to 3 lol But still & EMILY gworl EMILY class is so good Her energy & vibe Idk what it is that's diff but I left remembering her name & wanting to come back for more of her classes I've taken other instructors & others are good too. The lights, layout of the class & center, energy. The scented, cold towels at the end are an added bonus too. Oh and one time I was a few mins late due to the traffic on rosecrans & they let me go in. One time I was late to a mission valley spin class (diff company) & it's a no go once class starts. SPARKCYCLE is the most fun you'll ever have working out. I've been going for a little more than a year and I've never had a bad class or instructor. It's super easy to sign up for classes in their app, and because the studio is in Liberty Station parking is never an issue. Once you're in the studio, they have everything you need for before and after class. They provide shoes, offer water, someone will help you set up your bike (if it's your first time), and locker rooms are stocked with towels and toiletries. The class itself is perfectly challenging. You ride to the beat of the music, and they incorporate exercise choreography. It definitely takes a minute to get the hang of it, but it's seriously so fun. They do a good job of structuring the class so there is a mix of tempos, they even include a song for weights so you get a little upper body workout. The music every class is a little different, so it never really gets repetitive. Overall, it's a great workout. You will be sweaty! The instructor you take probably depends on your schedule. I've taken several classes with Sophia, Emily, Ben, and Delaney. They're all great! That said, every instructor I've ever had has been fun, motivating, and put on a good class. They each have their own vibe, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend SPARKCYCLE! Definitely give it a try! read more

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this place literally gives me life! Covid-19 has been hard on all of us and has taken away a lot of our everyday activities. When Sparkcycle announced they were moving outdoors I finally felt like I could get back to a new normal. These classes help build my self-esteem, maintain stress, and give me a reason to do literally anything. It's fun to be there and be outdoors where passerby's dance on the sidewalk and celebrate life with us! Like the mural says, you're exactly where you need to be! Sparkcycle is literally everything to me. I can't even begin to explain what I get out of every class. I get an intense work out, motivation, and a ton of self-love. I used to be in really amazing shape, and I lost myself. Sparkcycle has helped me find myself again. I lost 15 pounds going once a week, now I'm going 3-4 times and I can't wait to see the outcome. This was my first time cycling and let me tell you that the class at 9:45 on Monday KICKED my butt. I arrived 15 min early as stated in the email I got and was given a pair of cycling shoes and tour of the place and how to get onto the bike/adjust it so that it works for my body. I'm not going to lie to you, I haven't worked out in months (aka February), so 8 months of not working out, I am clearly not fit at all (there is a difference between fit and skinny but we'll save that conversation for another day). So because of my lack of working out, this felt like it took forever but same time went fast?? The music definitely makes the time go by quicker but I was out of breath and was thinking, "damn, when will this be over so I can breathe" haha. But after the workout ended, I felt really good. At the end of the workout they provide you with cold eucalyptus towels which feel so good on your face after all that hard work. Speaking of towels, the locker room/bathroom here provides towels for your showering needs to you don't need to bring one of your own from home. The locker room has all your needs, literally. From the bathroom, showers, q-tips, lotions, spray-on deodorant, face cream, razors, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even hair dryers! Never have I been to a place that made post-working out so clean and easy so that people don't have to lug their entire house with them. The studio here is super clean and very bright inside(other than where you actually cycle, it's dark in there haha). The only 2 things that I wasn't a fan of was that I could barely hear my instructor McLaren over the music. I love loud music, but it was hard to figure out what she was saying, as a result, I did my best to mimic her movements and those in front of me while cycling. In addition, while the place does have lockers which are super convenient, they're kind of a pain in the butt to lock and unlock. But other than those two things, I loved my experience and look forward to cycling again. read more

I visited on Saturday morning for Sean's class. Let me tell you, it was the best cycling class I've ever been to! His moves were unique and really flowed well. The music was awesome (with earplugs). The vibe in the room was great, everyone was giving it their all. I've taken classes at a lot of other cycle places, and this is the best when it comes to talent of instructor and equipment. In this location (Liberty Station) parking is plentiful and there are great food and coffee places around for after. I visited using Class Pass, and will definitely come again. read more

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I've never taken a spin class because i couldn't justify a reason to pay more than 20 bucks a class when I could easily ride a bike outside or take a class at 24 hour fitness. And I can tel. But let me tell you, boy was I wrong. My fitness instructor was kellie and she was so awesome! She made me feel like I was at home, helped me set up my bike and really walked me through each and every step. The class is full of energy and positive vibes! The workout incorporates cardio, weights, and other movements that really gets your heart pumping. They incorporate candles and black light I think? The music was a great selection, and the 45 minutes passed so fast. With kellie, after a tough song she tries to motivate team spirit and during the quick water break we do a quick cheers and raise our bottles. You're treated like a queen from start to finish from picking out your shoes, to receiving cold mint eucalyptus towels to cool down. Thank you help! Can't wait to purchase some classes! Their august deal is 4 rides for 75 dollars! I need to purchase! And don't worry about parking! It was easy! At least on a Friday morning! This has got to be thee best cycling class we have ever taken. If you have seen or walked by a class, do not feel intimidated. I would recommend to not pass this up the opportunity to try it at least for a week. When we first started, we had the pleasure of speaking to Stephanie, who recommended us to take our first ever class with Bens one evening and the rest is history. That energy, teamwork and drive (to want to be a better you) that everyone brings is so consistent every time we go, its contagious. Every class has a different pace and sound track so this is perfect for anyone! Ever since I started going, I've notice a good change in my diet and behavior when it comes to sleeping and rest habits. Being able to start my day with Ben, Emily, Vanessa, Gunner or Stephanie at Sparkcycle really motivates me to become a much more healthier me every single day. SPARKCYCLE has blown me away! I'm an advanced runner who runs 3 miles a day. I ran the rock and roll marathon and my first time cycling here was intense. I didn't think I could keep up, but after a few more visits I was hooked. I love the fast pace, high intensity, fast beats and being surrounded by a group of individuals who are beasts! I never thought I'd be a spin kinda gal but ever since I was voluntold to come, I don't regret it one bit! I love that it doesn't feel like a work out, the movements for class are so easy to follow and there's no pressure to keep up with the speed or choreo. It's literally all about what your comfortable with as long as you sow up for yourself. The music they play are so good too and atmosphere is just to welcoming. I cannot speak enough of the staff and instructors. They are so warm and inviting and so so approachable. TLDR: As I was a new member, Kellie gave me a big warm welcome and helped me get set up on the bike. Her high energy throughout the session was contagious! Not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous heading to the place since I was going by myself and I'm a bit overweight (self-insecurity was off the roof!...but still wanted to try anyways haha). The ladies at the front desk seemed a bit busy, so I didn't get much of a full greeting. However, once I entered the cycling room, I got a big warm welcome from Kellie, the instructor/cycling DJ (thank you previous reviewers for recommending her!!). Kellie walked me through all of the bike adjustments and shoe clipping; I really appreciated that she took a considerable amount of time adjusting my bike to ensure that I was comfortable on it. So the class itself.....oh man those 45 minutes are pretty much a blur now haha. Loud music, Kellie syncing the lights to the exercises, cooling off periods where the lights are completely off. As much as I wanted to keep up with everyone, I was starting to feel a bit woozy mid-session so I slowed my pace. Kellie was living through the music; at times she was dancing as if she was at a live dance concert haha. There were also times where Kellie was going through the aisles encouraging everyone to keep it up regardless how fast they were going! I liked that Kellie personally came up to me after class asking how it went (and also helped me open my locker since I was having trouble haha). Would I go again? Sure, especially now that I know what to expect. I'd definitely consider trying out classes with other instructors! My coworkers asked me to join them for a spin class a little over 2 years ago. The world was still crazy because of COVID so I went with them because it was a workout class we could do outdoors. In my mind I was going to try it out, not really anticipating to ever go again. Even though I almost died and was so confused my first time, the energy and music brought me back. It is literally the only workout I have ever actually enjoyed doing. All the instructors bring the best vibes, motivation, and playlists. I like that they are encouraging but not intimidating when it comes to their classes. All of the staff are super nice too. They also have themed classes which I always think are super fun. Even though I just hit 300 classes, the workouts still kick my butt! Would highly recommend this studio for anyone interested in trying a spin class. read more
