As a member, I shouldn't feel like I'm being met with confrontation when simply trying to use the club.

I think if you workout a lot, this class may be more of a rest day. The instructor was really fit but I wish she did more of the class with us because the moves are a little awkward sometimes, but again doable. What I did like about the class was its emphasis on balance. That is huge because as someone who hikes and plays sports, I'm always trying to find things to improve my balance so I don't fall. I did like this class for that. Glad I gave it a try! And I will add it into my routine.

In addition, the refund was processed to a card that was no longer active without any communication with me, which required me to follow up with my bank to resolve. I appreciate that the refunds were ultimately processed, but the overall handling of this situation required far more effort than it should have. Going forward, I hope the studio applies the "no-show" policy in a way that more accurately reflects actual attendance, so members who are present are not treated the same as those who do not show up at all.

I was willing to give Crunch another chance and expected a better experience. In July, I decided to downgrade to the $59.99 plan. I was told there was a $10 downgrade fee, but I was never informed about the 10-day billing policy. I was charged $89.99 for August and then $59.99 for September. I haven't used the gym in 5 weeks because I've been out of town. I tried calling to address the situation, but was told I needed to come into the gym in person. So I came in specifically to speak with a manager, only to find that the manager wasn't there. I asked the front desk if anything could be done since I hadn't used the gym, but was told there would be no prorated adjustment. At that point, I decided to cancel. I'm now in the middle of September and was told that I still have to pay for the entire month of October, with my membership ending October 31. So here I am, having not used the gym in 5 weeks, with another 6 weeks to ride this out. What makes this even more disappointing is that four other members of my family pay $89.99 a month here, and I have many friends, colleagues, and neighbors who are also members. These are people who should be informed about my experience because they deserve to understand the billing, freezing, downgrade, and cancellation policies before making decisions about their memberships. I wouldn't mind paying more for a gym if the customer service and policies reflected that value. I'm willing to pay for good service, communication, and being treated like a valued member. But when every option seems to come with another fee, restriction, or complicated policy, it starts to feel like a no-win situation for the customer. Unfortunately, I have not attended any of their classes, but I have made use of pretty much every piece of equipment they will allow me to have. I say this because the trainers here have a closet full of goodies that they use for their clients. What they do have out is already pretty outstanding, especially because it's part of Torrey Gardens. Key fob needed to get in, open 24 hours. Equipment uses air pressure for resistance. This is totally new to me, but I have used it and have found very positive results. There's no barbell or a bar to hang from to do pull ups from, but there's plenty of workarounds. The dumbbells are easily the best thing about this place, as they go real heavy (up to 100lbs!). Their cable machines are good, and they have a great assortment of leg machines. They have good kettlebells, good cardio machines to include one rower and hand crankers. They also have two foam rollers, which are essential! The trainers are always busy with their clients, and they know what they are doing! If you live here, you need to utilize what you are paying for included into your rent! I will definitely continue to workout here as long as I'm living in Torrey Gardens!
