schedule posted Friday Oct 21. Friday afternoon classes CANCELLED. Saturday classes cancelled or unavailable.
 A disgrace

After moving to n county months ago, it took me several weeks to decide on a fitness center, sign up, and to carve out time today, Friday, October 21 to attend my first class at 430 or 530 as well as tomorrow Saturday . And both classes are cancelled today! And all classes are cancelled or totally unavailable on Saturday! How hard is it to schedule an extra 45" class if that's the case -- I can't tell if Saturday is unavailable or cancelled -- but what's the difference if you're paying $200/month to take classes? All of which are popular times for working people to be able to get away from family and work to get a class. wtf, as if there is a shortage of fitness instructors in San Diego? There is about a dozen just as this f45 location. Fitness enthusiasts get into a routine which is vitally important to stay on track, and since most attend about 2-3 classes/week, cancelling an entire afternoon and SATURDAY is a major disruption to busy moms needing sitters, executives and other people with full schedules. Cancelling both (ALL) Friday afternoon classes and ALL SATURDAY classes shows mismanagement, blatant disrespect for the members who pay seriously BIG $ for a mere 45 minute class and minimal equipment and nothing else -- unlike other clubs like planet fitness or 24 Hour which offer fitness classes that are never cancelled, a fitness center that stays open for the long open hours they advertise -- AND that provide high tech redlight or vibration equipment, massage chairs, whirlpool and saunas. At f45 you get your 45 minutes in and OUT -- if they bother to open at all.

I LOVE this gym! This place is a HIIT gym with and without weights. Essentially there are stations and you go around to each station within the scope of 45 minutes, spending a few minutes at each. It's super fun. They keep the music loud and the energy up beat. Kiana and Kim are amazing trainers- super fun, entertaining, and motivating. It is a little pricey here ($50/week), but I go everyday and feel like I had a great workout afterward. The price point also gets me out of bed because I don't want to waste my moola, lol. For those that think Orange Theory is too easy (because it is), try here! Much much better. I also like that the cardio here isn't on treadmills and only slightly on bikes/row machines; I don't need a trainer to watch me on machines lol. The cardio you get here is from jumping up and down and doing intense, fast-past movements. One of my favorite things about this place are the TV monitors. If you forget what you are supposed to be doing, just look to the TV for a reminder! Stop by! They allow free one week trials.

Great spot but way too crowded already during COVID so I am a little nervous about this indoor room with all these sweaty people breathing hard with no temperature check and no masks while working out

Circuit class. Follow screens for directions.

Ask the Community - F45 Training Del Mar

Is this a good place to go for someone who hasn't been to the gym in a year and is out of shape?

I think that depends on the type of person you are, and how out of shape you are. If you care about how you are doing in relation to folks around you, it may be tough because there are some people that are in very good shape. But if you are…

I was one of their first members nearly 9 years ago, back when memberships were $19.99. After moving to Del Sur, I canceled my membership and recently decided to rejoin. Since the gym has been under new management for the past couple of years, I paid the initial rejoining fee and was paying $89.99/month for Peak Plus. I was willing to give Crunch another chance and expected a better experience. In July, I decided to downgrade to the $59.99 plan. I was told there was a $10 downgrade fee, but I was never informed about the 10-day billing policy. I was charged $89.99 for August and then $59.99 for September. I haven't used the gym in 5 weeks because I've been out of town. I tried calling to address the situation, but was told I needed to come into the gym in person. So I came in specifically to speak with a manager, only to find that the manager wasn't there. I asked the front desk if anything could be done since I hadn't used the gym, but was told there would be no prorated adjustment. At that point, I decided to cancel. I'm now in the middle of September and was told that I still have to pay for the entire month of October, with my membership ending October 31. So here I am, having not used the gym in 5 weeks, with another 6 weeks to ride this out. What makes this even more disappointing is that four other members of my family pay $89.99 a month here, and I have many friends, colleagues, and neighbors who are also members. These are people who should be informed about my experience because they deserve to understand the billing, freezing, downgrade, and cancellation policies before making decisions about their memberships. I wouldn't mind paying more for a gym if the customer service and policies reflected that value. I'm willing to pay for good service, communication, and being treated like a valued member. But when every option seems to come with another fee, restriction, or complicated policy, it starts to feel like a no-win situation for the customer. After nearly 9 years as a member, I expected much better communication and professionalism. My frustration isn't simply about the money. It's about the lack of transparency, the complicated cancellation process, and feeling like no one actually cared enough to help find a reasonable solution. And honestly, how are you supposed to "ride out" another six weeks and walk into a gym with a good attitude when you're already frustrated by the experience and feel a lack of compassion from the people you're dealing with? I'll be finding a gym that is more transparent, communicates clearly, and actually makes its members feel valued. Definitely ask questions about billing, downgrade policies, freezing policies, fees, and cancellation BEFORE joining Crunch. Read the FINE PRINT. Don't assume the process will be simple.

As a complete novice to weightlifting and strength training, I joined as a founding member and have been really happy with the membership and my results. Each day of the week, there is a different focus (strength, cardio, etc.), and each type of focus varies from week to week so you will always be exposed to new movements and exercises. The workouts are great for any level of fitness, as the coaches can modify the movements to make them more accessible or more challenging. The coaches are really encouraging and do a great job of cheering you on, challenging you to push past your comfort zone, and correct your form and spot so you can feel safe and prevent injury. The workouts vary and cater to any goal whether it's to maintain fitness, lose body fat, or gain muscle. I love the integration of the heart rate monitors available for purchase that gamify the experience so you can compete against others or yourself. They also have an EVOLT 360 Body Composition Scanner so you can track your progress over time and actually measure results. Not only do I look and feel stronger, I have data to prove it. In addition, the 8-week program based model where you have the option to test your strength at the beginning and end is another way to measure results. The gym itself is clean, and the equipment is well-maintained, with high-powered fans, so it's always a great experience walking in. The General Manager, Noel is the most genuine and down-to earth leader and makes you feel welcome the second you step in the door. It's clear that he truly cares about members, their lives inside and outside of fitness, and is passionate about inspiring a health-centered lifestyle. This mindset really permeates the team of coaches and has cultivated a community. Shoutout to the coaches, John, Trystan, Azin, Stephanie, Drisana who regularly coach the noon class who each have a unique way of motivating and connecting to members, making us want to come back each day even when the workouts are tough. The community is really welcoming as well, so this is great if you are someone who is motivated by partnering up with a gym buddy or want to be part of a community. Keep up the great work BFT!

We've trained with Coach John, Trystan, Adam, and Meko so far. All of them are great. I also love that they continually come around, help with our technique, challenge us to lift heavier and work harder. I have a weak lower back and it usually gets sore during certain exercises. But the modifications they show me really help; and it's a become a non-issue. :) I love the exercise timing here compared to other gyms. It's easy to understand, and you get enough time to adjust your weights. Very organized and straightforward. Facility is nice and spacious, equipment is new. They have lockers and storage bins in the lobby; and 2 restrooms, one with a shower. Manager, Noel, is super friendly. He'll even come in and start yelling your name in encouragement. Love it! Check out their Instagram page. You'll get a good feel of the great energy this gym has and the exercises they do. They're also running specials now. The classes are usually small enough to get a good amount of attention (unless you go to one of the special ones like a "hit the surf" workout but then the big group is just super fun). Even in the bigger group, Joe organizes it very well and you will definitely get what you need.
