The place is often overcrowded, especially during peak hours, making it hard to get a full workout in without long waits. Cleanliness was another issue with sweat left on machines, equipment not wiped down, and the locker rooms could use serious attention. Staff seemed indifferent when I brought up concerns, and getting anyone to actually fix things or follow up took multiple attempts. On top of that, the membership cancellation process was a hassle, lots of fine print and pushback when I tried to leave. I expected more for the price and can't recommend this place based on my experience.

I'm extremely frustrated with the lack of consistency when it comes to this gym opening on time…read more The posted opening time is 5:00 AM, yet on more than a handful of occasions I've shown up around 5:30 AM and the gym is still closed. I understand something happening once, things come up. But when it continues happening repeatedly, it becomes unacceptable. Several of us who regularly come in early have already brought this issue to management's attention, yet it continues to happen. Just yesterday, the gym once again was not open on time. I specifically use this gym because it's only about 8 minutes from my job. My routine is to arrive around 5:30 AM, work out, shower, and head straight to work while also beating the morning traffic. When the gym isn't open when it's supposed to be, it completely throws off that routine. I then have to find another location, usually driving south and then backtracking north again to get to work. What makes it even more frustrating is that members are expected to hold up their end of the agreement and pay their membership on time. I personally pay for my membership yearly so there is never an issue with my payment. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the gym to hold up its end by simply being open during its advertised hours. If you advertise that you open at 5:00 AM, members should be able to rely on those hours, especially those of us who structure our mornings and work schedules around them.

I haven't taken classes with the weekday mornings' instructors but I'm sure they are really good too! They teach classes where students are at different fitness levels and attitudes too lol. The instructors do an amazing job of correcting your form, providing modifications (always ask if something starts to hurt), and they also push you harder, especially if they have seen you in previous classes. My twin sister was in town and joined me last minute to a class with Angela! She's amazing, tough and nice enough to take a picture with us! My twin loved the class so much that she's looking into joining her local LA Fitness. My favorite part is the stretching leg circles & frog with the ropes at the end of class. I definitely come to class for "me" time and to shut the noise of work and the world.

I've been very disappointed with this LA Fitness location. Many of the weight machines are old,…read moreheavily rusted, and poorly maintained. Some adjustment mechanisms are so rusted that they get stuck, making it impossible to set the machine to the correct position. This isn't just inconvenient--it's a safety hazard. The cardio equipment is also in bad shape. You'll often clean a machine before using it, only to find out it's out of order. Several of the screens are loose, outdated, or barely functional. For the amount members pay, the gym should invest in maintaining and replacing worn-out equipment. A fitness center should be clean, safe, and have working machines. Unfortunately, this location feels neglected and in desperate need of repairs and upgrades.

24 HOUR FITNESS @ UTC LA JOLLA…read more Parking is available on the first floor of the Genesee Avenue parking garage. If you're visiting with the 5-day free pass, I highly recommend entering through this entrance because it can be a little confusing to find the gym since it's located underneath the UTC mall. One great perk is that 24 Hour Fitness validates an additional two hours of parking on top of UTC's free one-hour parking, giving you a total of three hours to work out and even do a little shopping afterward. This was actually my first time ever visiting a 24 Hour Fitness. Since I live so close to UTC, I've always wanted to check it out, especially because it's open 24 hours. I originally signed up for the free 5-day trial, but after taking a quick tour, the salesperson was incredibly friendly and even gave me $15 off the regular membership price. That made it an easy decision to sign up. I'm a pretty low-maintenance gym person, so all I really care about is having a clean, spacious gym with plenty of equipment, and this location definitely delivers. There are lots of free weights, machines, and plenty of equipment for both upper and lower body workouts. I also love that they offer cycling classes and are adding Pilates classes soon, which is a huge bonus. My only real complaint is that it can get very crowded during peak hours, especially in the mornings and evenings. Luckily, I work remotely, so I have the flexibility to go during off-peak times when it's much less busy. If you have a flexible schedule, I think you'll have a much better experience. Another feature I really enjoy is the recovery amenities. They have both a sauna and a steam room, which are perfect after a tough workout. My membership only costs $47 a month, which is honestly much cheaper than some of the smaller boutique gyms I've belonged to before. It also includes a guest buddy pass, making it easy to bring a friend along. Overall, I've had a great experience with this 24 Hour Fitness. While it can get crowded during busy times, the spacious facility, wide variety of equipment, group fitness classes, recovery amenities, convenient location, and affordable membership make it a gym I would definitely recommend trying.

Now, when it comes to the gym, I've seen at least 5 "new" machines broken. Eventhough they just got new equipment not too long ago. This message comes to give feedback and to not get anybody in trouble, I just hope things change for the better for us all of us who pay for this gym chain. Thank you

I've been coming to Fitness4ward for over a year, and it's been a life changer. I started coming…read morehere because I'd had a lot of medical procedures that left my health in shambles. I checked out other gyms, but this was definitely the best because: 1. An emphasis on strength and conditioning. I wanted more than just cardio, cardio, cardio. It was going to take more than just cardio to get my health back. I needed a well-rounded program that would build muscle and endurance. 2. Training quality. A lot of gyms have you just follow an app and speed through circuits, but I wanted actual people who could teach me correct form and give me personalized, real feedback. If I was going to follow an app, I could honestly just do that at home with an app from my phone, and it would be a fraction of the price with similar quality. The coaches at Fitness4ward are excellent, and a lot of the older members are extremely knowledgeable and happy to help too. 3. Pricing. It's actually a better deal per workout when compared to most chain gyms. If you want to work out consistently more than just twice a week, this gym is very affordable. (I come around 3 to 4 times a week.) I got my health back thanks to this gym. Before, I couldn't even walk my dogs for ten minutes without facing severe physical consequences for the rest of the day. Not only have I recovered my health, but I've fallen in love with working out in and of itself. It's surprising and exhilarating to push your body and mind out of your comfort zone and have it reach new limits that you thought were possible for everyone but yourself. And don't be intimidated by the program or the more experienced members! I never felt like anyone was judging me when I was brand new and couldn't even do three push ups. I'm still not the best even now, but I don't feel intimidated or judged. Everyone is at different levels and has a different story My husband is coming out with me now too, and we are both grateful to have a great gym where we can improve and maintain our health

However, I really wish Anytime Fitness Poway would reconsider the cleaning products and fragrances being used throughout the gym. When you walk in, you are immediately hit with an overwhelming mix of strong cleaning chemicals and synthetic fragrances. Between the cleaning products, heavily fragranced wipes, and products like Febreze, the smell is difficult to ignore, especially when you're breathing heavily during a workout. I completely understand that a gym needs to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. However, it is 2026, and there are so many effective fragrance-free and lower-toxicity alternatives available. There is also a growing body of research and legitimate health concerns surrounding unnecessary exposure to all these chemicals found in fragranced cleaning products. These chemicals have raised concerns regarding reproductive health, hormone disruption, and cancer risk. What I find especially ironic is seeing "Healthy 24/7" on the walls while being surrounded by such strong synthetic fragrances. People come to the gym because they are trying to improve their health, so creating a cleaner indoor environment seems like it should be part of that mission too. I've also noticed cleaning staff wearing masks while using these products, which makes me even more concerned about what employees and members are regularly breathing in. Please consider switching to fragrance-free, safer cleaning alternatives and eliminating products like Febreze from the gym. "Fragrance" on an ingredient label can represent numerous toxic ingredients, and many people are sensitive to strongly scented products even beyond concerns about these chemicals. Again, the equipment, staff, and lack of overcrowding are all huge positives. I just hope Anytime Fitness will take indoor air quality and unnecessary fragrance exposure as seriously as the other aspects of creating a healthy environment, for both members and employees.
