150 people before me have already told you it's fantastic, and so now I'm 151. We showed up and it was a 45 minute wait, so we walked down to Redmond's Bar and Grill and had a beer while we waited. Certainly a better use of time than standing around waiting. We had a Caesar Salad, the Sardinian pizza, a beer to wash it down with, and finally the Butterscotch Budino for dessert. Went on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm. Our server told us about a their "hella happy hour" that started at 3 which was nice if you like drinks but I came for their delicious pizza. Went here on the word for great pizza, and was pretty disappointed. Pizzas were average, and VERY expensive. I did like the Caesar salad with real anchovy on top, very flavorful. First off the service here was super friendly! Not only was our server very welcoming but the hospitality from all the employees was so warming - super comforting in the cold gloomy weather. Now to the food. We got the Mama Mia pizza and Detroit style motor city pepperoni. The Mama Mia was labeled spicy and boy was it! This pizza did not miss on the spice. It was the perfect amount to balance the slight heaviness of the garlic base and cheesiness. The pepper added a nice slight sourness as well to keep the pizza fresh. The pizza was a floppy pizza but not soggy. For the Detroit style pizza (which is only offered Tuesday - Saturday with limited quantity) the bread crust was nice and fluffy and corner crunchy from the charred cheese. I thought the pizza was a tad salty (but what do you expect when there's a generous amount of pepperoni on top) but nothing the side of honey couldn't balance out for a nice sweet and salty combo. Ok I've been dying to try Spark forever and finally got the chance today. It's a small little place with outdoor seating only but the patio stayed pretty warm and dry while it torrential downpourred. We got the caesar salad to start which was delish - perfect sized app for 4 people. For the pizzas, we got 3 - Honey, Spice, & Everything Nice; Mamma Mia!!; and The Sardinian. They were all amaze. I think my fav ended up being the Sardinian because of the little jalapeño sherry bacon jam situation on top. Our server Jake was attentive and on top of it. He was so fun and personable. The pizza was to die for but even if it wasn't, I'd come back just for Jake's service. After seeing that their website says they are in the top 50 pizza places in the US, I had high hopes. But the food and experience was just OK We ordered a regular pizza, a gluten-free pizza and meatballs. The regular pizza and meatballs were just average according to my husband and son. They said they've had much better locally and for less money. So for them it was not worth returning for My gluten-free pizza crust was made absolutely perfectly. It had a thin crust but was not like a crisp cracker like most thin crusts turn out. I had one of the vegetarian options but then added chicken and it was quite delicious. But I've had equally delicious pizza elsewhere for a little less money so I would tend to agree with my husband The part that I really did not like is that it was not clear where we were supposed to wait for a host to acknowledge us or help us The building is an old house that has been converted into a restaurant. So there are steps up to the front door. Evidently you're supposed to wait at the bottom of the steps for someone to come and greet you although there are no signs saying that and not even some sort of hostess stand. So we had to learn about this process from another patron who was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. And we just had to take their word for it which I typically don't do since many times people make assumptions that are wrong. But this was true. Even though we went around 5 o'clock on a Friday, there was going to be an hour wait so we decided to place an order to go. The person taking our order was extremely patient with us as we kept asking questions that then led to us changing our meal choices. And she was a great sport about it Based on the other reviews I've read, if you do decide to go, I would assume it's gonna be an hour wait Also, the only areas that I could figure out that you could wait (besides just standing there) were outside on benches that were uncovered. There did not seem to be any covered area for waiting so if it's raining, I guess you just get soaked? Or you bring your own umbrella? Neither sounds good to me. They did have two or three small sun umbrellas outside that I guess a small party could cover under? There are three or four heating lamps though. Also note that the only parking on their actual lot is for ADA parking. Otherwise, I think it said that you can park at Chase (bank)? We didn't want to wait for 45 minutes to get seated for a table, so we decided to take out. We still love NYC pizza though but it's somewhat close to those at least in Seattle! Tried Spark for the first time this weekend and it was solid. The wait time said it would be 45 mins to an hour but we got seated in about 25-30 minutes. The food overall was great. The crust on the pizza was soft and chewy. Not pictured was the burrata and bread appetizer we got, the pistachios and hazelnuts were delicious. That was probably better than the pizza. Stopped by Spark Pizza on a rainy Friday evening, they have a great outdoor patio seating area which was covered and heated. It was really popular and after a bit of a wait we were seated and ordered our pizzas. I ordered the "Honey & Spice & Everything Nice" pizza which was really good. The 12" pizza is not too big, I finished about 3/4 of the pizza, so probably not enough for 2 to share. Oh my goodness! I have lived in Redmond for a while and never visited Sparks Pizza. I feel like I owe them an apology! This place is terrific! My daughter and I went on a sunny Wednesday evening and put our names on the wait list. We ordered drinks (a Mexi Coke for her, a Margarita for me) and were told 30 minutes for our table. We had seats outside to wait. 10 minutes later we were at our table. Super friendly service. Adorable patio, great setting, and the pizza was amazing. I had a Frankie's (ah, Redmond) and she had a Margarita. We both ate every last piece, which is INSANE. We never do that. SO GOOD. Last point - Sparks is decked out for LBGTQ fundraising in August, which allows you to round your bill and donate to a local charity. How awesome! We'll definitely be back soon! The service is quick and friendly to help turn tables (I think there's a 90 min limit) and this is partly because there is limited seating (outdoor covered patio only, fyi). My favorite pizza place in the greater Seattle area cus Y'ALL there is NOTHING as fire as Spark's crust + garlic oil combo. It SLAPS. It is a BANGER. Also the crust by itself is the best crust I have ever had, SO fluffy, the perfect bread, I would eat a plain pizza here that was literally just a disk of crust. Aside from that though everything here is chef's kiss, I've been here three times now and my all-time favorite is the Homage to Frankie's. The toppings are the perfect and the TOMATO SAUCE!!!! is amazing. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. I've also tried the Fire in the Hole which is a lil weird and not to my tastes but I could see someone else loving it. Turf & Turf is also a great meat lover's pizza. Also the service here is always impeccable -- friendliest people ever and so enthusiastic. Love them. Note that there is limited parking and only outdoor (covered/heated) seating. Fantastic pizzas, the crust was like that of pizza I would get in Europe. The Detroit style pizza was alright, the dough is very thick compared to sauce and cheese ratio, and the edges border on burnt past charred. Got tired chewing all that dough after a while. Cool pizzeria with award-winning pizza. There is a nice covered patio for outside dining and heaters for cooler weather. Our server (I think his name was Austin), whom I think may have been the manager too, was really friendly and helpful. I upgraded my old fashioned to include a special barrel-aged whiskey they exclusively had that came from their sister restaurant Woodblock. He let me have a little of it on the side as well as the drink so I could taste it on its own. The pizzas themselves were really tasty. The crisp exterior and chewy interior of the crust was perfect. My fun gal pizza used a variety of local grower mushrooms and the crispy garlic bits were delightful. We met up her with some friend and all we can say is that it was dope! It's an unassuming spot that looks to be an old house with a huge outdoor space where we enjoyed some of the more memorable pizza that we've had in Past couple of years. The places very popular, and lives up to the hype, so plan to get there fairly early. For a smaller group, the weight is shorter, but for our group of nine it was about an hour wait. They have tons of picnic tables in the courtyard, where the majority of the seating is offered, so larger groups to move in and out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, the same large tables, host, smaller groups, which can contribute. We ended up ordering Five or six pizzas, as well as some accompaniments, like breadsticks, and a salad, for our group. It was a good amount and ended up leaving us with fairly limited leftovers. It was nice to have a couple of boys in the group group as well! All in all, the pizzas were creative and delicious. Spark pizza is awesome but does require a bit of luck! I find that most of the time when I go, there is a 30 minute-1 hour wait. Which doesn't surprise me, because it's delicious, but I do wish they would open up more seating or allow reservations. I'm sure it's a lot better in summer when they can open up the outdoor patio sitch, but the heated patio does have limited room. They also run out of dough sometimes, especially the special deep dish. So it's always a gamble when we come here and hard to plan ahead. The gluten free pizza here is DIVINE! Amazing crust and always an array of unique toppings. I love to pair whatever I get with the hot honey to make it extra fun. Their caesar salad is also amazing and always a must for me. They have an awesome drink menu as well, which is always fun. I tried the Lost in Tijuana and it was basically just a jazze up margarita, which was lovely!
