Had fun bowling but would recommend getting there early to get first round of drinks before starting to bowl- We started before 6pm, which is when it seems like waitservice to lanes starts. Getting drinks for a group of 8 at the bar took about 20 mins/ there was only 1 bartender for awhile. When waitservice did start drink service was still pretty slow. Not sure if this is the spot for avid bowlers but was fun for a recreational experience . They had an arcade with various arcade games to choose from, but seems like you always end up with money left on your "arcade card". Drinks were pretty cheap though not very strong for the cocktails. Food portions were pretty big for the plates to share, though pretty average in quality. We tried the nachos and tater tots. Overall, would return. read more

Went here on a whim after dropping off a friend at the airport during February Vacation in 2024. It's roughly an hour drive for us from home, but since we were already in the area, it was cool to drop in with it close. We had a lot of fun. The place was mostly empty, so we had different activities to ourselves and minimal wait times. The laser tag was fun. Kiddo wanted to be against me, so I was tag teamed. Ha ha! The Escape room was challenging. We had to use some hints to solve it, but I'd definitely do another theme there in the future, as it was worth the energy and time put in. You have an hour to solve the puzzles. Bowling was big ball, which we don't get to do very often. One great thing is that the bumpers are set to put up and down automatically based on the player. Went somewhere recently where they had to be up the whole time or down...that was frustrating. The staff here were great! Very friendly and professional. Extremely helpful. Bowled 2 games. Waited 15min in line for a group of 4 to check in. There was two people behind the counter talking before someone realized we were standing there. The two games took an hour and a half. I ordered ONLY ONE DRINK the entire time which, the server only came the once and then to close out when my game was done (go figure) . I didn't see the server in sight for 15min. I want to include it was not very busy at this time, there was around 7-8 lanes going only on the left side and when my game finished there was only 4 lanes. Service is horrendous or maybe it was just my server. The bowling, If you are an avid bowler you can see the oil is almost the entire way down the lane, I have a Urethane ball, and a Solid Asymmetrical Ball that I HOOK with a high rotation.I think the ball maybe moved 3-4 boards the entire way down the lane. Would not recommend if you're an avid bowler. I want to include that I bowl a least once of week in Vernon Sparetime or Shaker bowling in east long meadow mass. Scammers! Criminals!!!! Just left after spending nearly $175 for me and my boys to play video games and bowl. Despite their website and posted signage saying they charge for bowling by person per game, they turned off our lane halfway through our second game and then claimed we paid by the hour - something that's not even an option on Tuesdays. The manager was adamant she told me it was by the hour, which she didn't, and refused to allow us to finish our game. Question: why did she need to know how many people were bowling when the hourly charge is per lane not per player??? Anyways, her supervisor offered us 15 minutes to finish our game which was not acceptable because I followed their rules and payed by the game for 2 games for 3 people. Why should I compromise something I already paid for?? We were not playing slowly having completed 15 frames in the hour they allotted us. To make it worse, we had just ordered drinks and food and before the order could be touched, we were told they unilaterally changed the rules and we had to leave the lane we paid for. They will be getting an unfair trade practice demand letter and a small claims suit for their criminal fraud. How dare they try to rip off a loyal customer without apology. Wrecked the whole afternoon and we had to leave before we could even touch our order. Let's see if they commit credit card fraud and charge my card for the food and drinks we weren't able to consume because they thought they could just push us out. They scammed the wrong customer - I can't wait for a small claims court to hear about this overt fraud - this is the kind of situation treble damages were designed for. read more

My family and I go to Spare Time often since we have Kids Bowl Free, and lately, every time we go, we are ignored by the wait staff. I have no idea how they get paid because they walk around aimlessly and don't take anyone's orders. When they do, they will literally take the people's orders in the lanes next to ours, and then they ask us when we are at the end of our second game when there is no point to buying anything anyway. The service is horrendous and I definitely recommend going when you have no intention of buying anything to eat or drink. read more

For a lot of bowling places it's very basic, however Windsor locks new renovation a couple years ago still is rocking. We had reservations for an escape room, after some arcade time we did wait at the desk for a good ten minutes, but we did get into the escape room at reservation time so I can't complain! The escape room itself was one of the more basic and easy that we've been to, but we did have a good time, and the staff member was very attentive and helpful if hints were needed! Came to this location for dinner. Our waitress dee was extremely friendly. She approached us with a happy attitude. She assisted in taking our order and checking in on our order in a timely manner. After food came, we could not see where she was to ask for ranch. We looked for about 1 minute and did not find her so we approached the front cashiers where we noticed 4 female staff. 3 staff members were standing and talking while another female staff member was dancing. We approached and asked politely if we could get a cup of ranch. One female with curly hair told us that we had to go find our waitress to ask. When my husband returned and informed us of what happened, I approached the front and started, " my husband came up to ask one of you guys for help getting a ranch cup because we couldn't find our waitress so i don't see why one out of four of you guys can't help us either find her or go get us ranch instead of standing here and chit chatting". One female shook her head and passes it to another waitress while the curly hair female went to the manager to complain about me. This is extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. It is not my job to go search for someone that could assist and no one gets paid to stand around and chit chat let alone be rude and disrespectful to guests. Whether it is their job to go support with the dining area or not, there was a waitress that couldn't support either. The old tired Bradley Bowl has been replaced by a spiffy new version under the banner of Spare Time Entertainment. Their website lists seventeen Spare Time locations between Maine and Alabama. About fifteen of us were there last evening to unwind and check out the place. What a striking transformation we saw. The number of bowling lanes have been dramatically reduced, and that new floor-space has been filled with a lot of ways for you to spend some time and some money without even tossing a gutter ball. They have a very large arcade area that sure reminded me of Dave and Busters, or even Las Vegas with all of the neon and bright lights. They have Laser Tag and Escape Rooms and VIP rooms for Private events and parties. They also have a super nice lounge, that feels more like a pub than a bowling alley bar. Seriously, this was very nice. The beers were reasonably priced, and the food menu was pretty darned big. I ordered a 12-piece order of BBQ wings ($15) and an order of Cowboy Tater Tots ($8) to share with my side of the table, and I have to tell you the food looked great and tasted great. So even if you despise bowling you can still spend a very nice time here with multiple entertainment and food and drink options. A solid four stars for sure. read more

We had a great time last night at sparetime in Windsor!! The place was updated , modern , clean and fun! The ppl were very nice and the place was well taken care of. When places are maintained well, it lets us know as consumers that they really care about there business. The lanes were cool and fun , with lights , music and tvs. And the food! We only had apps and drinks but they were good and fresh. Def don't let the low ratings on Yelp deter you!! Ps. The games were all functioning and running great! We loved the virtual rides too! If I could give it 0 stars I would.... I took my niece and nephew here this weekend for their birthday. We decided to get dinner there instead of eating out before hand so we can just make one trip. After the awkward unfriendly interaction with the guy who gives us our shoes, we went to our lane and waited to be seen for food and drinks. (One grumpy person wasn't going to ruin their Birthday festivities) We waited for almost a half hour to have someone ask if we wanted anything and decided to take it upon ourselves and go to the bar because at this point we were just super thirsty. We sat for ANOTHER half hour and still no body came, so I went to the front desk and asked for Someone to see us. Her reply was well the kitchen is closed. And I said well what time did it close, and she said well it closes in 15 minutes..... I said well we been here for an hour..... but whatever we just want drinks honestly. (I honestly didn't even trust to get food at that point) The server walked over to our table with his book at his hip n looked at me and shrugged (the gesture of yea what do you want) didn't introduce himself, didn't even say hi or what can I get for you. Just stared at me. I said can we get some water. Maybe a pitcher of water and a glass of sprite for my nephew.... He replied "a pitcher of water" And walked away. So that's all we were able to get. I was turned off we finished our one game and decided to hit the arcade. I payed for three games so I tried to get a refund for the other two. After the eye roll she walked off to ask someone and they said no. I still wasted 150$ on games for the kids cause I was determined they still enjoyed their night, but never again. When I heard my husband's holiday party was at a bowling alley, I pictured skeezy and rundown. Boy was I surprised to pull up to a newly renovated, modern looking place! The holiday party was held in the Elite Suite. It was catered with apps which were tasty and about average bar food. It would definitely make a great space for a birthday party or family reunion. They have TVs you can hook up video systems to (bring your own) to have a Mario Kart Tourney at the same time. Bar service was sort of slow and service, as mentioned in other posts, is the reason for 4 stars and not five. Bar prices were also semi expensive for a bowling hour....not sure if they have happy hours or specials but would hope they do. We love all the different activities we can do there and go as often as possible, especially on Tuesdays when all games are half-price. Since the pandemic occurred, we haven't made any trips there. However, I have been following their cleaning plans online and felt confident they would be safe to go back. This week we went to bowl, play laser tag, and use the video games twice. Our trip on Tuesday was great and there were only a few other people there. Everything was sanitized and clean. During our trip today (Friday) we were the only ones in the building besides the employees! It was wonderful and helped us feel good about the decision to go there during one of these last weeks of summer. As always, even before the pandemic, the staff was helpful and friendly. But the rating is mainly for the pricing - just to give you an idea, we had to purchase socks (yea, bad mistake, should've thought about it before going) and one single pair of socks is $3.25! The same pair that you get anywhere else for $8/12 pairs ($0.66/pair). 5X price! We were there as part of a birthday party and one lane malfunctioned - basically they had to reset the lane to make it work again. I came here with my family to a Santa event they had, and we had so much fun! My kids had a great time meeting Santa. I was afraid my 4-year-old would be too little for bowling but they have bumpers so your ball doesn't go into the gutter and plastic dinosaurs she could roll her ball off of. Horrendous manager. Tried to come with some friends and I had brought a monster energy drink inside with me. The moment she noticed I had an "outside beverage" she immediately started an issue. She had an instant attitude and told me I couldn't have my drink and that I needed to give it to her to "dispose of". I asked her why I couldn't have it and explained that I had done it many times and she said that it could have alcohol in it (which it very clearly didn't). I told her that she was extremely disrespectful and rude and that we were going somewhere else. We then went to Spare Time in Vernon. The second we walked in the door the staff was staring at us. We were then told that the manager from Spare Time in Windsor Locks had called and warned them about us. Saying she had to kick us out because I was attempting to "underage drink". This was absolutely pathetic on her end for two reasons. #1 she didn't "kick us out" we left because she was having a power struggle and we didn't want to support management like that. #2 I wasn't attempting to "underage drink" I was just simply trying to bring my energy drink with me. Once we described the situation to the manger at Spare Time in Vernon, he was extremely understanding and allowed us to bowl there. I've been here many times and have had a good experience. Recently we were there and the waitress came over to our bowling lane and introduced herself. The group across from us starting ordering and I asked my family what they wanted. As soon as she was done getting their order, as I was standing there waiting patiently, she just walked away. She came back with their food and never asked us if we wanted anything. Later my family went to the bar, and the same waitress happened to be there, she told us the kids couldn't sit there and for us to move to the table and she would be back. She never returned, so we left and went to play games with the kids. I seriously have no idea why she needed to ignore my family. Honestly, I know things are tough and people are struggling, I would have given her a great tip, even though she didn't ignored us the first time. But she obviously did not want to serve us. Came here for a night of bowling over the weekend. It's $17 per person on weekend nights for "galaxy bowling." That gets you unlimited bowling until 1AM, closing time. It's clean, not too crowded, and music is at the perfect volume (DJ plays top 40). The kitchen is open until 12am and the bar is open until ~12:30am. I'm not sure how much beers are, but mixed drinks are $4.50 or $5 This place is fine if you're looking for a relaxed night of bowling. The drinks are just OK. I asked for a white russian and they didn't have any milk (???). We also bought fries, one with shredded cheddar and one with bacon and cheddar, and they were pretty bad. The serving size is huge, but over half of the basket got thrown out anyway. I ended up just eating chunks of cheese after I had a pretty good buzz on from the cheap mixed drinks. The good news is that they have a full menu until 12am, so I recommend anything BUT the fries. read more

Tonight we had a large party of family at the bowling alley. Our waitress seemed to not enjoy our company and switched us to another waiter which was a very nice brown young man. My sister purchased an alcoholic beverage from the bar and was harassed and followed by a white female bartender after providing her ID and proving her age. She was rude and unprofessional. I was disgusted by the behavior at this bowling alley and did not feel welcomed and I feel that it was racially motivated. One of the family members ordered wings and never received his order well after our session was over and we were double charged for a tap that had previously been paid. To end the night another waiter dropped a glass cup and the shards flew into my infant nephews car seat. I do not recommend this bowling alley whatsoever for a good time with a larger family. read more

Will not be visiting this particular location ever again! This was my second visit here since it is close to the airport but neither of my experiences here have been good ones unfortunately. Usually I go to the Spare Time in Vernon and have always had a wonderful time, but this location is very different. The first time we went we tried going bowling quickly before a flight but it was insanely expensive. We had to rent the lane for some minimum amount of time apparently and the rate was by the hour. Then you had to rent shoes on top of that. This time we decided to just play a few games in the arcade and grab a drink at the bar. Me being the only person at the whole entire bar was ignored completely by three of the workers there and never even greeted. No "hi, I will be right with you." Absolutely nothing. After finally being approached after about 15 minutes the women checking my ID she gave me the dirtiest looks. The staff seemed to absolutely hate their job! After all this we headed over to play some games, most of which were shut off and broken to some degree. This bowling alley was huge in size but very quiet we noticed while there. Only a few other people were playing games too and a few unhappy toddlers waiting outside the gated prize area that must have had no one working. Which was odd since it was only about 6pm. read more

She comes over, apologies for the delay and goes to get the waitress for our table. She comes... very apologetic... takes the drink & food order and off she goes. Drinks took another 15 mins to show up... after about another 10 mins the food starts to come but now the lane is ready. So we have to carry out drinks and food over to the lane. Yes this place is newly renovated and very nice, it's poorly designed because there isn't much room to eat or even gather at the lanes. Now the food... basic bar fare but the loaded fries were so bad the kids sent them back. Just nasty. Wings, burger and quesadillas were ok. Bowling was bowling... nothing to write home about. We came here on January 2nd to celebrate my dear friends' 32nd birthday and we were poorly greeted by our server Heather who seemed to be disgusted with our presence being a party of 15 as her seemingly only table between 630-8 PM. We ordered food staggered and understood that being a large party the food would come out not simultaneously. The birthday girl stated that the food that she ordered hadn't been delivered and the server was more upset that we mentioned that than anything. Heather stated that she forgot to put the order in and asked her to repeat the order. 15min go by and when the food finally arrived, it was ice cold to the touch. Decor borders on high end (esp for Windsor Locks) and the gaming options go far beyond bowling with a vibrant arcade, an escape room and laser tag options as well. Bar area is lovely and the food options look promising. Only criticism thus far is the bar staff seems a bit slow despite low activity and the servers I've encountered aren't familiar with the menu so solid, convincing food recommendations were lacking. Definately think a private corp event would be fun in the designated space with it's own bar and seating area. read more

I called to make sure that we would be able to get a lane (we were going out to celebrate my husband's birthday) and was told that there is usually a 2 hour wait so I reserved a lane for 9pm and paid $110 up front. We got there early so we walked around and it looked like a nice place so we went to the bar to grab a bite to eat before bowling. My husband went to the bar to get us drinks and there were about 6 people working. He waited for one of them to get his order......the manager then came over to introduce a new employee to everyone and held a meeting while customers were waiting for service (7pm - not an ideal time for a meeting). My husband waited.....and waited.....and waited. After about 15 minutes of waiting, he came back to our table (which also had no server around) and said "we are out of here - I stood there for 15 minutes and no one even looked at me to ask me what I needed. I can only imagine how long it will take to get a beer while we are bowling" Although this place looks nice - unfortunately the service is terrible.
