I have rented a storage unit from Public Storage since last February 2025. Within the first three…read moremonths, they raised my rent by $50, every 3 months they raise it, I went from renting a unit for $120 and within a year my rent is $200, which is insane. I've had storage units for four years never had a facility raise it that much that quickly. The second thing is if you don't pay by the 20th they will cut the locks off of your unit within a month, within Three weeks and take photos for auction because by the first or second week of the second month, they will sell your stuff so you don't even get a grace. Period if you're having a hard time, cut it take pictures of your things and and on top of the rent, $30 late fee, they add a lein fee of around $160. Within one month, if you're not able to pay it on time, to save your belongings you pay over $450, then they charge you for a new lock that you never asked for and put it inside your unit and give you a time limit to return it. It's all around just not a very good company to use for a long period of time if you're going to get your stuff out within a month then sure it's an option because it is clean and it is nice that the gates are accessible by Remote, but all the other negative stressful actions that Public Storage does greatly exceeds the positives. It feels as if it's setup so you lose everything you own and they gain property to sell. I would not recommend.

I am giving them 4 stars here because my original Uhaul online reservation from two days before my rental day was originally supposed to be picked up here for easy return after storing my things. The lady sent me over to the other location for pickup and things went downhill from there. But- I am not complaining about this lady's work ethic here. This lady went above and beyond on the storage unit angle and I have no regrets about renting from them. She called the day I made the reservation to get some details and told me I would need to finalize some things the following day. I go down there and she was able to get me in and taken care of with ease. She then offered to take me to show me where my unit was. I was glad I had inquired about its location, because it turned out that the door was slightly more narrow than the width of the unit and my sofa wouldn't be able to fit in that door. She even loaned me her tape measure to get exact measurements. So after verifying my sofa width at home, I called and she said she would figure something out and not to worry! She did some work and called me back a couple of times in the process. She ultimately kept my business and was able to make the situation work out. This lady (whose name escapes me) was attentive and considerate through the entire process. There wasn't much she could do after the other location gave away my Uhaul, but she did call to get details on what happened. She also saw me later pull up in the area, and called my cell phone within a minute to let me know that there was another entrance and I would be better off unloading down there because of its proximity to my unit. I think she was great, and if you are an employer with need of help, find her and hire her! She would make an excellent manager! And she had a lovely personality and sense of humor. The climate controlled storage units themselves exceeded expectations also, and I am pleased. I do recommend Devon for self-storage; just not Uhaul.
