Finally made it here for the first time. It's a local, family owned restaurant. The waitress was everything you could ever ask for. The supreme pizza was really good. This place definitely makes it seem like you can't really order anything bad off the menu. Can't wait to come back! It's very inviting with a comforting feel. Wow! The best cream of mushroom soup I have ever eaten! Dinner was great as well. We had cheese ravioli and shrimp & scallops frau diablo. This is what Italian food is supposed to taste like! Don't touch this place with a 100 foot pole that you borrowed from your neighbor. They are scam artist grifters, objectively. They will add a 20% fee to a PARTY OF TWO, and we are talking about KIDS who are at a DINNER for PROM. The menu states 18% gratuity may be added to parties of 6 or more, so why would a party of TWO have a 20% fee tacked on (pre tax of course) ridiculous. This place should be looked into by the authorities, I don't think what they are doing is legal at all. stay FAR away. read more

Get and itemized bill and review your receipt carefully. They have been over-charging by applying a fee or service charge that they are errantly labelling gratuity. It is a mandatory 20% fee that is compulsory and pre-tax (not a gratuity by legal definition) and not displayed on the menu. I hope that the comptroller audits their books and sees this added fee. read more

Yesterday (3/28/25 @4:45pm) we walked into this nearly empty restaurant and asked to be seated in a booth. After telling the hostess, "no, we don't have reservations," she says "I can't do that, all of our booths are booked." All of the booths remained empty the entire time we were there. A lying hostess who acts put upon when you don't have a reservation wrecks the experience of an otherwise very good restaurant. read more

This time my lasagna was not good, like I had last time. Only one layer of this lasagna had meat. I thought the taste was empty. My my husband's pasta was good.Waitress was also kind and nice. My husband and I absolutely love Spagna's. The ambience is warm with low lighting and soft music. The bar and decor are classy & elegant with folks wearing casual or dressy. The food is delicious. We especially like the Calamari, Mussels Marinara, and classic Martinis. The service is good. My brother visited from Columbus and disappointed they were closed Sundays. Im a local and suggest to call ahead to make sure they are open. Not open daily and for dinner only. There were inconsistent, random days open in the past, so unsure if this has been resolved. Spagnas is a popular Marietta dining spot that was previously re opened after closing for COVID. The atmosphere here is great with a business casual vibe. My wife had the Baked Manicotti and I had the salmon, which were both cooked well. The downside to this place is their hours of operation are limited and our service was extremely low. Service was slow and absolutely awful!! Took 20 minutes to get drinks!! Took over an hour to get food after we ordered. Steak was over cooked, potato was under cooked, mashed potatoes were cold and tasted very old. Salads were awful, ceaser was over dressed and the regular salad was microscopic. It was difficult to get refills when needed and never was given the drink for my child the entire 2 hours we were there. Shout out to Mindy, the best hostess ever. We were 12 minutes late for our reservation and she seated us right away. If you were thinking of taking your mom here for mother's day, think again. They are fully booked open to close. I was tempted to try their special of the day, swordfish, but I really like the manicotti. I get it every time I come here. The margarita was better than the lemon drop. Last time I ordered a moscato, which was better than either of the drinks I tried today. Honestly, Flemings has the best lemon drop. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat. But, you need to call ahead to make sure they are open. As they seem to open only certain times and days of the week, was there on March 10, 2023, food was absolutely tasteless, bland, and almost impossible to eat. Very overpriced. The TV commercial dared to claim that Spagna's was the best Italian restaurant in the mid-Ohio valley. I agree! I like to have pasta with olio sauce or calzone. The outdoor seating is excellent with a beautiful setting of plants that evoke Italy. The covering allows you to stay dry even in a summer storm! Food has gone down in quality for the price. The service was good but when we walked in the host ignored us for a few minutes. They looked at us and turned around and finished talking. For a romantic ambience that it tries to have, there was a table with 2 kids screaming (not crying) they were laughing after screaming. The parents ignored the kids. The wait staff was complaining along with us. I could not hear my husband talking to me. The only way we could talk was if we yelled at each other. The kitchen staff was complaining about the noise. Why didn't someone from the restaurant take care of the situation! Everyone in the room was miserable. Where was management? This was my anniversary dinner. It was ruined. Spagna's has been my favorite restaurant in the Mid Ohio Valley since they opened when I was in middle or high school! I always make it a priority to go to when I come in to visit my family. My favorites are the shrimp scampi flatbread and the veal saltimbocca (which they haven't had in years). Hopefully they'll bring it back one of these days! read more

On Marietta's west side, just across the Muskingum River in Historic Harmar, is Spagna's. My host took me to dinner here last week and we had a marvelous time. I love being inside historical buildings, especially when the restorations have been done well. There's also an outdoor patio which wasn't an option on this cold March evening. Both of us enjoyed the "Diablo" dish - a large bowl of shrimp, scallops, and spicy red sauce on a bed of pasta. All of that was washed down with a very nice red from Chile. For the last "Dolce" course, we split a most excellent homemade cannoli with chocolate accents. The service was also friendly, prompt and helpful. I wandered back to the Lafayette hotel full, happy, and itching for a long outdoor walk or a indoor work out. read more

I've been here several times. This is my wifes favorite place to eat in the area. She always gets the same thing dish - Manicotti. She loves it. I am a little more adventurous when it comes to food and I try not to eat the same thing when I go here. Out latest visit on 4/11/13, I got the Diablo dish suggested by a previous review. I will have to say that it was great. Highly recommend that if you like seafood. In the past I have gotten the lasagna a few times. MOST times it still cold on the inside, which I never really understood. How am I expect to pay $14 a good size of frozen(still cold in the middle) piece of lasagna. It's VERY good when it's warm all the way through. The service is decent but sometimes shaky with drinks and being around when you need them. I will return but not to get cold/frozen lasagna. read more

04/07/18 Stopped by for a late dinner. Our server said she was new but did a great job! I ordered chicken masala - didn't like the sauce (not what I expected). Too many veggies too. My bf ordered veal parmesan. Big portion & he liked it enough to take home leftovers! My big complaint? It was very cold inside! First time visitor-Had the scallops which had great flavor but wasn't a fan of the pasta which in my opinion lacked salt. Would definitely like to visit again to try something different from their menu. Hello friends, I normally wouldn't make a post like this but it needs to be done. I was unreasonably and wrongly terminated from my employment at Spagna's restaurant due to allegations that I called the staff "trash." This is a horrible lie, I would never call my fellow co workers trash. The people I worked with at Spagna's were far from it. They are good people (most of them). Also, I had an "attitude" with everyone in the restaurant that supposedly started from the beginning. I want everyone to know how bad the management handled this. They fired me because of some lies and believed them with no proof. Spagna's has some great workers that I call friends. But the management needs work. When the managers (Erin and Erika Hall) bombarded me with accusations, it almost seemed like I was back in high school with a couple of mean girls who were bullying me. I'm so sorry to my friends on here that are still employed at Spagna's, I will miss you! But there are plenty of other places that need good employees like you, and I wish you the best! read more

Coming from a city that is great for the foodie, I give certain allowances to restaurants in small towns. There weren't many reviews on Spagna, but since people said the food was decent and it was close to our hotel, we gave it a shot. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately an inconvenience since we had no reservation. It didn't seem like an issue in a half empty restaurant, but ok.. Then, we received our menus and reviewed to see what sounded good for the adults and the child at the table. The bottom of the menu states "ask your server about the kids menu". When we did just that, we were told there is no kids menu, but there are child size portions of some items... Ok, great. We placed our orders and the food came out just fine. We had stuffed mushrooms (qty 4) and the combo plate (2 cheese ravioli, 1 sausage, 1 meatball). The food came out and was average, nothing spectacular. The entire menu was overpriced based on locale, quality and quantity. Our waitress never came back after the food came out. We sat for over a half hour with finished plates and an antsy toddler until I finally got up and asked someone to get us our check. Only after this did our waitress come back to say that she had not forgotten about us... Even though she actually had. The service here looks to be fine if you are a local and a regular, but if you are visiting Marietta and trying to check out somewhere new, save your cash and go somewhere that doesn't act like you owe them something. read more

We were very split on this review. One 5 one 3.5 and two 2s. The food was a bit slow, but the server was excellent. The lasagna was so greasy it was inedible. The meatball calzone was quite good, as was the manicotti in Alfredo sauce. But the chicken Alfredo was worse than at Applebee's. Too bad because it is in such a beautiful old building. read more

This place was a great little "home-made" italian place. The litte waiver they put in the corner of the menu saying it takes a while bc everything is made fresh to order is a great start. Started with the shrimp cocktail, it was grilled so not cold like you would think, but delicious. 4 big shrimpys come with a meal. Me and my lady got two classics, veal parmigiana and lasagna. Our book club has gone to Spagnas about 10 times for birthday celebrations The service is always good. We especially like how they are willing to split of the birthday girl among the entire party. Our last birthday dinner will probably be the last. The price of wine increased by about 25%. We brought a cake and were charged a $13 cutting fee. ($1.67 times 8 people). The pepperoni rolls were deep fried. The vegetable spaghetti was bland. All in all, the experience left us all with a bad taste. read more
