This was an overnight stop on a road trip. Hungry and tired we looked for a location close to the hotel with good Yelp reviews. The Galley is located in a beautiful area close to the river. The interior is well decorated and very inviting. The brussels were the perfect appetizer and were delicious. They offer many beers on tap. After reviewing the menu, i asked our server for recommendations, there were so many things to choose from. I ended up with a burger and glad I did. Perfectly cooked to a med rare, full of flavor. Our server was spot on and checked in often. If you are a local to Marrietta, OH or just passing through, I highly recommend that you stop in. read more

I ordered the mushroom burger and fries. It took forever to get to my table. The burger had very little cheese and what cheese was on it had melted completely away. The aioli was good. But 22.50 plus a suggested tip for that? They had a few gluten-free options and the vegetables they did offer (like the brussels sprouts) were coated in brown sugar... Restaurant was pretty and everyone was cleaning but the food was overpriced and not very good for a small portion of it... Will I return? Not so much. read more

We happened upon this place while in Marietta to attend a play. The restaurant was lovely, and we were seated and waited upon promptly. I ordered the pasta with scallops, shrimp, and calamari in vodka sauce, and my fiancé ordered the fennel-brined chicken. The portions were perfect and delicious! Flavors and seasoning were outstanding, although I felt the mushroom risotto which accompanied my date's chicken was a tad underwhelming, but risotto is a tricky thing to get perfect. The seasoning on the chicken more than made up for it. And it was HALF of a small chicken! Price to value was fair, service was good, and I will definitely return on my next trip. This is the restaurant inside the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Marietta. They were short staffed BUT REALLY STEPPED UP THEIR GAME!! The big breakfast is included with your room, and they went over and above, preparing it exactly as we had asked. First time we've been in here since forever. Prices a little high, but fantastic food. I had a muenster burger with veggies. H had an applewood smoked burger with fries. Burgers were juicy, done perfectly. oh-delicious!! I haven't had mixed veggies (cauliflower, cabbage, carrots) done this excellent in a while. Will definitely come again soon. This place did NOT disappoint. We shared the Brussels app. Delicious. If Brussels came in an addictive drug form, this would be it. Sweet and acidic and smoky and crunchy and yum. I had the fig and burrata salad on the recommendation of the server. Delicious. Hubs had wings. Delicious. Service was attentive and really kind without being overbearing - the type of service that you pine for when thinking about the good ole days when people liked their service jobs. I used to come here all the time up until 2017 when I moved away. I'm not sure what happened to the Galley but it's gone downhill. We had a reservation for 6 people on the patio. We show up and the hostess takes us outside and presents us with two tables for 4 and basically tells us to figure it out. So we (the patrons) moved the tables in order to sit together. Oh and it wasn't very busy at that time so I'm not sure why someone couldn't have moved the tables around beforehand, especially since we had a reservation. Now to the food. The menu was mostly the same so I went with the New York Strip (medium rare). First of all the steak was way overcooked. It was almost well done. I would have sent it back but I don't do things like that. The mashed potatoes were not fluffy at all, they were stiff. It was like they were made and plopped on the plate and sat for 20 minutes. Then the mixed veggie side. It was like tiny pieces of peppers and onions "stir fried", but they seemed way over cooked. I tried some of Brads coleslaw that came with his food and it was not good. Overall I don't recommend the galley anymore. Im not sure if management changed or what but the value is not there for the price. read more

The food was pretty good but pricey for what we gI loved the Brussels sprouts. The boneless chicken wings were smaller than chicken nuggets from any fast food restaurant and were dry. Chili was good the Mac & cheese was tasty. There was not a crowd at 1:30 when we stopped but it seemed to take a long time to get our food. Always fabulous! The local farm raised beef, great fish and the brussels sprout is always a hit.

Everything was delicious! Service was excellent! Burgers were cooked perfectly and we enjoyed the chocolate pecan pie.

The food is worth it in my opinion. The Brussel sprouts, burrata salad, and steak tasted delicious and were cooked perfectly. The lemon cake can be skipped at the end though because it is DRY- probably a pre frozen cake. The waitress was friendly and gave us time to decide without rushing our big group. MY ONLY QUALM- THERE IS NO BABY CHANGING TABLE IN THE WOMENS RESTROOM. They have a family restroom but it was locked and we had a full dipey and a crying baby. This grinds my gears. So overall a good place to get after work drinks and apps, but not entirely family friendly. read more

Pretty ambiance. I sat outside on a nice October evening. Had the fried chicken. It had an interesting flavor.....and I think it's because they added fennel to the batter. Different from traditional fried chicken, but not in a bad way. Washed that down with a cider, which was crisp and dry. Great service. Fair prices. Interesting story about the building. Great find for a salad. Black mission figs with burrata. We can certainly make it at home. There's arugula so peppery. Green home crisp apples for some tartness and sweetness. Almonds for a different crunch. Reduced balsamic and the burrata which made the salad decadent. You can add a protein but to me it is good in itself. I wish there's a smaller version so I can have something else. I had it 2 days in a row Kettle chips were great. Not salty I gave them a 4 stars because the server is not quite familiar with their beers. I had Cool Beans beer. The server could've mentioned that it is coffee flavor or infused. Hated it. The Galley isn't what you would call everyday dining. They have a nice selection of cocktails and entrees. I ordered the "crispy skin" snapper and the flavors were okay; it was the pile of wet vegetables on top that soiled the main star- crispy skin. The gnocchi was dry too unfortunately. There was also some sort of mustard sauce that just didn't do it for me so though the plate had serious potential it was not cohesive. I was disappointed. It was soggy and my server told me that was subjective, but everyone knows you can't put soaked veggies on a crispy skin or it will defeat the purpose of leaving the skin on a fish. In any manner our server replaced my snapper without any outbursts for the salmon and it was phenomenal. Awkward seating arrangements. Friendly enough staff. Just not somewhere I'd suggest someone who is on a budget or wanting to take any foodies either. Some dishes are confusing, but over-all good experience. The galley is a nice restaurant in Marietta. It has a great outdoor patio for a nice summer evening and the inside has a lot of character and charm. They have a good selection of wine and beer also. ...and you want to go where everyone knows your name... For some reason, this place reminds me of Cheers. Maybe it's the classy bar and the wood. There is a lot of wood in this place. In 10 years, I have only made it a point to dine in the Galley maybe twice. And in writing this, I realize that I want to go back. It's a great place! The interior is elegant and spacious, and they offer outdoor dining during the warmer months. I can't believe that I haven't went more often. But I guess that we get busy and lose track of time, and take for granted that some of the greats will always be around. With that being said, I hope that the Galley continues to serve the mid Ohio Valley as they have for years. I have only always ordered the steak, but it has always been made to order. They have a great baked potato and delicious fries too. In looking at other people's post, I would really like to try a burger now too or maybe the fish and chips. Next stop? The Galley. read more

The Galley is a neat place to grab a bite to eat and they are also dog friendly! I was able to sit on the patio with my dog and enjoy the beautiful weather. All of the servers were incredibly friendly as well! I had the pimento cheese burger with bacon and it was delicious! I think I would have enjoyed it more without the bun so the cheese would have been the strongest flavor. Overall, it was delicious! The fries were also very good! read more
